The easy thing to remember is when playing black when white pulls this is don't take back but develop. You get a tempo up for a pawn and the game remains even.
Black’s best move by far is to take the knight back. Let them kick your knights around. It only feels like you’re down, but you’re still up +2. If white doesn’t play precisely after that, they’ll lose. If you get to the endgame, all hope is lost for white. Source: I play this as white whenever I can and have a 65-70% with it.
