I tried this recipe and it turned out amazing. I think your mistake might’ve been adding the butter when it’s too hot as this causes the cookies to flatten and harden way too much maybe try to cool it to room temperature next time and beat it for some good time before adding the eggs and follow the recipe exactly like alvins video
Pro tip that no one tells you: Let the melted butter cool completely before adding it!!. I think you should try it again and see how it goes :) Also, try baking six at time and have them really spread out lmao
Next time, instead of aluminium foil, try using clingwrap. Aluminium foil keeps the cookie dough warm for longer as it traps the heat. This causes your cookie to slowly melt and spread while it sits in the refrigerator.

I went to look at that recipe You add 2 ice cubes to the browned butter because when you cooked the butter over the stove the water cooks out. Bless your heart. You tried. I thought I way overcooked my toffee but it came out perfect and melted in my mouth. They needed 370* and not 300 like he says in the vid to caramalize
