- I have always wanted to build a manual transmission go kart, so today I finally start it. This is the first video of the series and I will make more as I get more parts so be sure to subscribe!

Awsome go kart man. Use a 6 speed 2 stroke 125cc engine from honda/suzuki/kawasaki/yamaha or ktm

Normally the clutch goes on the steering wheel column on those shift karts...
Well, he can have his stick shift wherever he wanna, but normally the CLUTCH, the C L U T C H is on the steering wheel columm....

I would probably have tried to find a small ATV trans to go on that motor, that way you get a reverse gear as well

Sean Hillerby try BMI or OMB. They have a package deal on front and rear hubs for racing style wheels. You just need to know your axle diameters.

Just in case your wondering, a manual go kart is the same as a shifter kart

Manual transmission = better control on speed and torque delivery = easier to power through drifts

Its a honda gx200 governor removed with ebay torque converter. If you want to go cheaper get a predator 212. Had that before and it worked great with a governor bypass

If you know engines well and have a lot of experience go with the 125cc, but if you are new to small engines and go karts get a predator 212 or gx200

Marc Zantinge for a gokart i recomend a honda 390 (or get a clone they work just as well) my gokart is running a ptm420(and whats the matter with you guys and torque converters
before you weld make sure that you have bare metal!!

I have a question I'm not like engineer but why do you put a jumper cable or battery cable when you are welding?
Its an electric welder, so it needs a ground to complete the circuit
He didnt explain it to well there, yes he is correct but not complete with what he told you. Its called a welding cable, and due to the fact that its an arc welder it takes alot of voltage and a lot of amps through it, so they use a low gage high current copper cable and a high current copper aligator clamp, much like that of a jumper cable, which is used to connect two cars main power circuits together which may be only 12 to 24 volts, but need a hell of a lot of amperage to turn over (spin the fly wheel that turns the crank shaft which moves everything in the engine to start the rotations in which are required for the engine to run, if interested in knowing more look upna video about how an engine works) the engine. So anything thin and weak would melt. Hope this helps your curiosity!

Got it from ebay. Its a pain cause shipping is $95 tho. Should be well worth it. It was a pain to figure out all the wiring and clutch but its all fixed up. Got a new fuel pump coming this week so I should be riding this weekend!
Awesome! Did you find a wiring harness online? Or did you make one? If so, what wiring schematic did you make it off of? I was thinking when I make mine I would put the clutch on the steering wheel using a bike brake.... just an idea to toss around. Thanks for the info!
The wiring harness comes with the 200cc lifan - set kit, so i used that but modified it by moving 2 wires to different ports and changing around one more wire to get it to work. I can make a video on the wiring if needed.
That would be so great if you could do that! It would be a lot less time that I would need to spend trying to figure out how to get the whole wiring system to work
Put a proper securing pin through that clutch pedal, that little pin you used is rough as fuck man😂
It looks dangerous. Maybe that's why the clutch is on the steering wheel on other karts.

I would have designed a rack and table to lift the cart first. so your not welding on the ground.
