- Can I Beat a Hardcore Platinum Nuzlocke Using Only the WORST Pokemon? Some Pokemon are just inherently better than others - that's what GameFreak calls "balance." Some are so bad, in fact, that a lot of people, including myself, just rank them as trash against other potential picks. But what if that "trash" was all we had to work with? Could I still beat a hardcore Nuzlocke with them? Today we find out!

Thanks for the kind words! I definitely only want to increase the quality for these kinds of videos, but they do take a lot of time. Doing them between my other "let's play"-style videos is my plan to ensure I can take my time with them. The time and effort will be worth it!
I think egg group restrictions could be very unique and interesting. Haven’t really seen it done, and could spin a wheel to have an egg group be at random. Excited to see you grow

As a Lumineon and Kricketune fan, thanks a lot for using them in this challenge, it's true they're not that good, but I find them underrated, i'm also surprised, Kricketune survived the whole thing and Lumineon killed Garchomp, proud of them!

Porygon is my favorite pokemon hands down. I remember watching TheHeatedMo's egglocke of Blaze Black and he pulled "Flappy" the Porygon in the second episode and won the whole run with it. That solidified Porygon as my favorite little guy. I'm so glad he showed up here.

I've actually always been a Lumineon fan! I wish they had gone all the way with the butterflyfish concept and made it Water/Bug, but either way it's a gorgeous design.
While I do agree that Wormadam and Kricketune are good for sections of the game, the main reason they're F tier is learn set and the fact they're outclassed. For example, no one is going to use Earth-Coat Wormadam when Trash-Coat is far better, nor are they going to waste their EQ tm on Wormadam, when their Garchomp can't learn EQ naturally. Additionally, these Pokemon could take possible encounters from other Pokemon, like Wormadam taking tree encounters, or Kricketune taking early route encounters. It's not that these Pokemon are bad, it's that they're outclassed if you take the whole game into account. That said, nice job showing how really any Pokemon can be useful, cause they can.

Have you considered possibly showing all the pokemon in your party during runs? It's a great video but it can get confusing at times trying to see who's in the party and who isn't.

One little idea: You could show your current team in the interface so it's easier to see which options you have in certain situations.
I don't have many skills... But clicking the right buttons in a kids game is definitely one of them!
Going forward I'll definitely add in a current team overlay. I didn't think about it much when editing, but I can see why it'd be helpful from a viewing perspective.

Thanks! It's something I definitely try to do, but I elected not to for this run specifically because the Poketch does that for me, haha. Will definitely keep in mind for future runs!
@@keeperplaysOr, alternatively, since really these nuzlocke videos end up being sorta like a boss rush format, you could just sorta reset before each major battle and show the team. I would say to do whatever you feel fits the video best. Maybe I’m weird, but having the team on screen means nothing to me on its own. I’d rather hear what you’re doing with said team and the setups.
Ultimately, you do what you feel is right. If you don’t want to do either because you feel it is too derivative of other creators, then I can absolutely respect that.
Yeah I got the sense of that a little bit, where even in this video I felt like some of the between-battle stuff could be cut out. Maybe replacing the fluff with a better look at the team before a big fight would make for a better understanding on the strategy going into it. Deciding where to cut, especially when adding more talking points like that, is definitely a choice made to keep the videos a reasonable length as well. I'll see about trying something a little bit different in the next one!

Pachirisu is so underrated in the early game! It's fairly bulky and after a few charm's it turns Purugly into roadkill.

really surprising to see wormadam be such a crucial pokemon, and not even the bug/steel variant which i was expecting. bug/ground is just a really damn good typing huh lol.
Going into it, I thought the same! But Flint actually being a Fire-type user in Platinum and Earthquake not really being learned by anyone else with a viable attack stat really sealed the deal for me.

Btw,I use "f tier" Pokémon in numerous games and I have always a blast, Lumineon, Wormadam and Pachirisu are basically in every team.

I think this would be genuinely a lot more difficult if you tried it again without rare candies, trainer battles will likely be somewhat scary for F tier pokemon. Also you could just try only the Platinum list
Considering I level up to the next level cap immediately after each gym, all Rare Candies skip for me is hours of grinding level 2 pokemon on Route 1 that I'd have to cut out of the video anyway. :P
The only way "No Rare Candies" ever becomes a more difficult nuzlocke is if you ban grinding as well, which I find is just never really feasible. Or fun for that matter.

It's crazy Wormadam and Dustox are considered awful. I've seen Dustox sweep Cynthia. Also Pachurisu can go hard with dual screens as well.

Tickle is a status move (which I know is weird given the name), so Aipom just waved his hand through Haunter's ghost body and hoped for the best.

How do you get all the rare candies? I play Pokémon games on my pc using an emulator and roms but haven’t ever figured out to get rare candies
You can either use cheat codes that can be put into the emulator directly, or you can open your .sav file with PKhex and edit the items in your bag directly!

I can't really give too much info here, but if you Google for the codes and how to add them to your emulator, you'll find all the information you need.

Oh definitely, but the fun I find in a challenge is more about setting the rules, and then finding ways to make those rules work in my favor. Besides, his team was always inherently going to be stronger than ours anyway.
