Cruza, I’m 62 & have been riding Harley’s & Supersports for over 40 yrs. Currently I have a 2014 GSX-R 750 & found a Harley Superglide in mint condition for only $6,000. No reason to spend $30,000 on a Harley. I love both bikes for for many different reasons. Harley’s are a blast to ride & so are Supersports, ride what you like!
I have a V-Rod, Night Rod. Don't plan on ever having another Harley, but you never know what the future holds. I'm really looking to get a Busa, or another BMW.
How has the V-Rod been to you? They look sick af modded. If you rode a XDIavel you'd probably sell it tho. It is hard to go to another cruiser after that bike.
C Cruzza, I have been a Hardley Hater for a loooong time! But, after 40 + years of riding, hey, if you want to spend your hard earned money on a Harley, go for it! To me, they have been the same as a woman who flashes her Coach purse. "Hey ya'll, look at this fancy purse!" Same for a Harley. Lots of bling, and mostly about an image thing.
Cycle Cruza, you may need to look into the baggers/touring bike from Harley or Indian if you want that V-twin character. Indian if you want better quality out the box, Harley if you want a more sexy bike. Then you have Honda & BMW. They got women 5’2” riding those heavy bikes and there is technique in picking them up if they drop. The long distance trips will give you more content. God bless👊🏽🙏🏽
IMO a Harley isn't worth it. For the reason being my brother bought a Harley for his 2nd bike. He paid over 30k for his bike and then dumped another 7k in accessories and Harley merch. Then he lost it in a parking lot at a bike night. While my MT07 stood out like a sore thumb in a sea of Harleys. I lmao when he went to sit on a bike that was practically identical to his and it's owner, she blew up on him saying get the F**k off my bike 😂😂
lol 30k+ for a bike is crazy to me unless its a H2 for collection. I bought my MT-07 at a Harley dealership, it was the only Yamaha they sold there and it was their best selling bike, so much so that it was always on backorder and I have to wait a couple months. Honestly, I prefer my Yamaha Davidson. 😂 Much better value and more fun. 🏍
@@CycleCruza Exactly. If you have 30k burning a hole in your pocket or bank account then buy a MT07 and your gear and spend around 10k and still have 20k to buy whatever else you want. You could legit get the MT07, your gear, buy a decent used car for when it's absolutely pouring outside, pay for insurance and still likely spend less than buying a Harley.
I sold my ktm sat an picked up new gsxr750 Tuesday. I can tell you I will never ever want another ktm after riding the suzuki. It would have to be a 1290 or a 1390 for me to look at it. They suzukis sound is just intoxicating, and how nible an rocket fast it is blows my mind.
MT-07 with 270 Degree Firing order has the same firing patter as an HD I have been told. I have never checked the Math .. I simply don't want a Motorycle with forward foot controls..
270 degree offset isn‘t the same as a Harley v-twin. The 270 crossplane emulates a 90 degree v-twin (or l-twin if you‘re pretentious like Ducati). Harleys have a really narrow angle at 45 degrees. This was originally done to allow for more hp while keeping size down, for the same reasons manufacturers nowadays use inline twins. This gives them that iconic bang-bang-pop sound.
I’ve owned four Harleys and none of them had forward controls. I still have my 1997 xlh. Like cycle cruza I also have a 2023 mt07. Both bikes will turn you into a hooligan but the sportster does so with brutal acceleration. No my sportster isn’t stock but it’s reliable and gets 46mpg on pump gas. It runs mid elevens in the quarter and low sevens in the eighth. I bought it used ten years ago for $2800 and have about $3500 in mods on it. Mt yamahopper was $ 10,500 out the door and runs mid eights in the eighth.

Tell it like it is dude! I have a 25 year old sportster. Some years back I had a bad accident & while I was getting over it I had the thing almost all the way apart. Suspension is by Showa, starter motor by Hitachi, headlight by Bosch, tail light plastic made in Canada. New rear reflector, in a genuine HD spare part bag - made in Finland. Those are just the ones I remember. That aside, maintanence is very easy. I had to replace the starter motor solenoid a couple of years back, will have to do the fork seals soon. That's all I've had to do to it in the 14 years I've owned it, apart from keeping the oil & filters up to it. Price-wise, I'm down under in Oz, here it's still possible to get a nice evo sporty for less than AU$ 10k (6-7k freedom bucks). Wouldn't know about the big twins, I don't like 'em anyway. As for HD's newer stuff - they got nothing I want, they're stupid expensive, and I don't think HD want you to do your own work on them anymore.
Here is my thoughts about HD: heritage, icon, beautiful. Some models are actually cool. Other are comfortable. I completely understand people who buy them. Me personally I am a Guzzista guy (owning a Moto Guzzi V7), after 5 boring Hondas.
I got a 23 Road King Police(it was brand new) for $18k all in. Loving it so far. Normally I don’t like cruisers but the police seats are tall. Comfy too.
Depends on what model and where you are. Here in Thailand the new Nightster 975 cost just a bit more than a Rebel 1100 and cheaper than a Triumph Bobber. After a Dynojet tuned the 975 makes around 100 hp at the wheel and reach the top speed of 270 km/h on a dyno. It is lighter and faster than both a Rebel 1100 and a Bobber. So overall is is a very good buy over here. Same as a Pan American. It is cheaper than a GS1250 over here but still as much good. A very good buy. However old Harley guys will not accept those as a "ReAL hArLEY" though. 😅
I've got a 2021 HD sport glide. Best of both worlds it's a cruiser and a tourer. Most comfortable bike I've ever ridden. Try out one. I'd be surprised if you did love it.
Just a question out of curiosity CC, let’s say you were riding at 50-70mph and a car pulled out in front of you and you couldn’t swerve out of the way and you tbone their car, do you think your airbag vest is durable and reliable enough to prevent severe spinal cord damage and from becoming a paraplegic?
I wear a Spidi Airbag vest. To answer your question, learn a high level of riding skills (advanced riding courses, parking lot training, emergency stopping, and swerving) to be your first defense in avoiding an accident. Those tools have saved my life on a number of occasions. Then, my Airbag vest is worn as a last resort for protection from a crash. I've been riding 40+ years and never went down.
The new line up of HD's looks good but have to see if they hold up. I considered a Harley but price was factor and, I concur, the value for dollar just isnt there even when buying used. I still say the only HD CC might like is a VROD muscle as it has very good performance reviews and a standard seating position. However, if CC wants a Harleyesque cruiser riding experience there are plenty of Japanese made bikes that outperform and out price HD.
Got 4k miles so far on a '23 Honda Rebel 1100. I LOVE IT! Great price, performance, etc. Originally was looking at a Breakout also. Glad I chose what I did.
I am a harley owner bu I have the vrod. I have always liked that look of a muscle cruiser. All the other bikes I liked in that style were way more when it came to cost.. I have had mine for 5 to 6 years now. I love it. With the new harleys I think u should try the Sporters S, the Pan Am, and any bike that has at least the 114 and up. if you are lookin for that TQ, the 114 and up has pretty much all of it. Yes they are heavier but at speed you won't notice... cheers.
Im pretty sure harley Davidson has never claimed their bikes are 100% made in America. Maybe the frames and motors but there's more to it. For me it was just a special feeling riding a harley. That said I have a yamaha now
The best bikes HD ever made are the least respected. The Sportster 1200 and V-ROD are two great, affordable, reliable bikes. But Sportsters are girls bikes and real HDs aren’t V Rods.

Get a Brentune on that thing and it could hit 180mph; plenty of speed..haha...but it's smooth and comfortable and very nimble. Would be easy to lane split if living in california...Also, a person can have the pegs moved up .59 inches so that there's no scraping the pegs if canyon carving

Agree…MT07…best all rounder street bike for the city. Put a nice Akaorovic pipe on it…then it sounds like a Ducati. Neither HD or Ducati can match it. Australian price new $14 000 - bang on value. I have always wanted a HD, I can afford one…but I think they are way overpriced
I walked away from H.D years ago. Overpriced and unreliable. They knock your nuts in with parts and maintenance. Definitely not for blue collar dudes anymore. I love my V Strom 800 DE
😮 $700 month on groceries oh my. I tend to spend 45-70 a week at store. Not including misc meals may get way home from or ordered into work. I get angry every time I walk by the hard salami. Have not bought any in years like $7 now. And $5 for bag of chips. Groceries are nonsense. For whatever reason I saved a receipt for 20 oz bottle of pop back in day. $.79 back than. 1996 I think was. I'm getting old 😂
I would never buy a new harley but you can find some good values if your buying used. Harleys made from 2008-2017 with the twin cam fuel injection engines are bulletproof and can be found for pretty cheap on fb marketplace. A harley would definitely be good content for the channel

My dad loves his HD. Says It's easy to work on. My question is, if you're gonna spend over 36K for a bike, should you have to work on it? I felt my soul leave my body when I asked him lol. Besides, their insurance rates are insane. Can't endorse their Woke policies either. If you want cruiser style, just get an Indian.

I had a Harley. 2016 iron 883 blacked out and a lot of nice parts. Thing ripped and looked bad ass but god was that a boring bike. Really only good for back country road cruising imo
True Harley Davidson parts are mostly made in China by QJ motors which bought the Benelli and the Keeway company... certainly the engine parts..they even produce some off shoot Harley Davidson like bikes ..just check out QJ motors mate 👍😂

I have owned 5 Harleys. Absolutely loved them. I still have 2. A 1989 FXRS Low Rider, and a 2002 Sportster 1200C. $6200 is the most I have ever paid for a Harley. I always paid cash, and always bought from private sellers. I would never own any Harley without the EVO engine. The Twin Cams and M8s are GARBAGE. I will not own ANY bike that is not carbureted, and I will not own ANY black bike. All my Harleys had/have bright shiny paint, and lots of bright aluminum and LOTS of CHROME. I have added even more chrome to my current Harleys. Harleys have used some Japanese parts for a long time. But most of the bike was made in the U.S That is no longer the case. New ones are being made in Thailand. And they are no longer actual motorcycles. They have more computer parts than motorcycle parts. When it comes to Harleys, older bikes it's at.

Cruza, I’m 62 & have been riding Harley’s & Supersports for over 40 yrs. Currently I have a 2014 GSX-R 750 & found a Harley Superglide in mint condition for only $6,000. No reason to spend $30,000 on a Harley. I love both bikes for for many different reasons. Harley’s are a blast to ride & so are Supersports, ride what you like!
I have a V-Rod, Night Rod. Don't plan on ever having another Harley, but you never know what the future holds. I'm really looking to get a Busa, or another BMW.
How has the V-Rod been to you? They look sick af modded. If you rode a XDIavel you'd probably sell it tho. It is hard to go to another cruiser after that bike.

To me, they have been the same as a woman who flashes her Coach purse. "Hey ya'll, look at this fancy purse!" Same for a Harley. Lots of bling, and mostly about an image thing.

Cycle Cruza, you may need to look into the baggers/touring bike from Harley or Indian if you want that V-twin character. Indian if you want better quality out the box, Harley if you want a more sexy bike. Then you have Honda & BMW. They got women 5’2” riding those heavy bikes and there is technique in picking them up if they drop. The long distance trips will give you more content. God bless👊🏽🙏🏽
IMO a Harley isn't worth it. For the reason being my brother bought a Harley for his 2nd bike. He paid over 30k for his bike and then dumped another 7k in accessories and Harley merch. Then he lost it in a parking lot at a bike night. While my MT07 stood out like a sore thumb in a sea of Harleys. I lmao when he went to sit on a bike that was practically identical to his and it's owner, she blew up on him saying get the F**k off my bike 😂😂
lol 30k+ for a bike is crazy to me unless its a H2 for collection. I bought my MT-07 at a Harley dealership, it was the only Yamaha they sold there and it was their best selling bike, so much so that it was always on backorder and I have to wait a couple months. Honestly, I prefer my Yamaha Davidson. 😂 Much better value and more fun. 🏍
@@CycleCruza Exactly. If you have 30k burning a hole in your pocket or bank account then buy a MT07 and your gear and spend around 10k and still have 20k to buy whatever else you want. You could legit get the MT07, your gear, buy a decent used car for when it's absolutely pouring outside, pay for insurance and still likely spend less than buying a Harley.

Thailand has an industrial zone that manufactures all kinds of parts for every motorcycle brand, including HD and my favorite, Triumph.
I sold my ktm sat an picked up new gsxr750 Tuesday. I can tell you I will never ever want another ktm after riding the suzuki. It would have to be a 1290 or a 1390 for me to look at it. They suzukis sound is just intoxicating, and how nible an rocket fast it is blows my mind.

MT-07 with 270 Degree Firing order has the same firing patter as an HD I have been told. I have never checked the Math ..
I simply don't want a Motorycle with forward foot controls..
270 degree offset isn‘t the same as a Harley v-twin. The 270 crossplane emulates a 90 degree v-twin (or l-twin if you‘re pretentious like Ducati). Harleys have a really narrow angle at 45 degrees. This was originally done to allow for more hp while keeping size down, for the same reasons manufacturers nowadays use inline twins. This gives them that iconic bang-bang-pop sound.
Riding in gravel with forward foot controls is not that fun.

I’ve owned four Harleys and none of them had forward controls. I still have my 1997 xlh. Like cycle cruza I also have a 2023 mt07. Both bikes will turn you into a hooligan but the sportster does so with brutal acceleration. No my sportster isn’t stock but it’s reliable and gets 46mpg on pump gas. It runs mid elevens in the quarter and low sevens in the eighth. I bought it used ten years ago for $2800 and have about $3500 in mods on it. Mt yamahopper was $ 10,500 out the door and runs mid eights in the eighth.

Tell it like it is dude! I have a 25 year old sportster. Some years back I had a bad accident & while I was getting over it I had the thing almost all the way apart. Suspension is by Showa, starter motor by Hitachi, headlight by Bosch, tail light plastic made in Canada. New rear reflector, in a genuine HD spare part bag - made in Finland. Those are just the ones I remember. That aside, maintanence is very easy. I had to replace the starter motor solenoid a couple of years back, will have to do the fork seals soon. That's all I've had to do to it in the 14 years I've owned it, apart from keeping the oil & filters up to it.
Price-wise, I'm down under in Oz, here it's still possible to get a nice evo sporty for less than AU$ 10k (6-7k freedom bucks). Wouldn't know about the big twins, I don't like 'em anyway. As for HD's newer stuff - they got nothing I want, they're stupid expensive, and I don't think HD want you to do your own work on them anymore.
Here is my thoughts about HD: heritage, icon, beautiful. Some models are actually cool. Other are comfortable. I completely understand people who buy them. Me personally I am a Guzzista guy (owning a Moto Guzzi V7), after 5 boring Hondas.
I got a 23 Road King Police(it was brand new) for $18k all in. Loving it so far. Normally I don’t like cruisers but the police seats are tall. Comfy too.

Depends on what model and where you are. Here in Thailand the new Nightster 975 cost just a bit more than a Rebel 1100 and cheaper than a Triumph Bobber. After a Dynojet tuned the 975 makes around 100 hp at the wheel and reach the top speed of 270 km/h on a dyno. It is lighter and faster than both a Rebel 1100 and a Bobber. So overall is is a very good buy over here.
Same as a Pan American. It is cheaper than a GS1250 over here but still as much good. A very good buy.
However old Harley guys will not accept those as a "ReAL hArLEY" though. 😅
I've got a 2021 HD sport glide. Best of both worlds it's a cruiser and a tourer. Most comfortable bike I've ever ridden. Try out one. I'd be surprised if you did love it.

I wear a Spidi Airbag vest. To answer your question, learn a high level of riding skills (advanced riding courses, parking lot training, emergency stopping, and swerving) to be your first defense in avoiding an accident. Those tools have saved my life on a number of occasions. Then, my Airbag vest is worn as a last resort for protection from a crash. I've been riding 40+ years and never went down.

The new line up of HD's looks good but have to see if they hold up. I considered a Harley but price was factor and, I concur, the value for dollar just isnt there even when buying used. I still say the only HD CC might like is a VROD muscle as it has very good performance reviews and a standard seating position. However, if CC wants a Harleyesque cruiser riding experience there are plenty of Japanese made bikes that outperform and out price HD.
Yeah I'm tempted to get a v-rod and do a sick build with a FAT rear wheel and hydraulic suspension. I always wanted to do that.
Got 4k miles so far on a '23 Honda Rebel 1100. I LOVE IT! Great price, performance, etc. Originally was looking at a Breakout also. Glad I chose what I did.
I love my 23 MT07. Some Harleys are nice, but way too expensive.

I am a harley owner bu I have the vrod. I have always liked that look of a muscle cruiser. All the other bikes I liked in that style were way more when it came to cost.. I have had mine for 5 to 6 years now. I love it. With the new harleys I think u should try the Sporters S, the Pan Am, and any bike that has at least the 114 and up. if you are lookin for that TQ, the 114 and up has pretty much all of it. Yes they are heavier but at speed you won't notice... cheers.
Im pretty sure harley Davidson has never claimed their bikes are 100% made in America. Maybe the frames and motors but there's more to it. For me it was just a special feeling riding a harley. That said I have a yamaha now

Get a Brentune on that thing and it could hit 180mph; plenty of speed..haha...but it's smooth and comfortable and very nimble. Would be easy to lane split if living in california...Also, a person can have the pegs moved up .59 inches so that there's no scraping the pegs if canyon carving

😮 $700 month on groceries oh my. I tend to spend 45-70 a week at store. Not including misc meals may get way home from or ordered into work. I get angry every time I walk by the hard salami. Have not bought any in years like $7 now. And $5 for bag of chips. Groceries are nonsense. For whatever reason I saved a receipt for 20 oz bottle of pop back in day. $.79 back than. 1996 I think was. I would never buy a new harley but you can find some good values if your buying used. Harleys made from 2008-2017 with the twin cam fuel injection engines are bulletproof and can be found for pretty cheap on fb marketplace. A harley would definitely be good content for the channel

I have owned 5 Harleys. Absolutely loved them. I still have 2. A 1989 FXRS Low Rider, and a 2002 Sportster 1200C. $6200 is the most I have ever paid for a Harley. I always paid cash, and always bought from private sellers. I would never own any Harley without the EVO engine. The Twin Cams and M8s are GARBAGE. I will not own ANY bike that is not carbureted, and I will not own ANY black bike. All my Harleys had/have bright shiny paint, and lots of bright aluminum and LOTS of CHROME. I have added even more chrome to my current Harleys.
Harleys have used some Japanese parts for a long time. But most of the bike was made in the U.S That is no longer the case. New ones are being made in Thailand. And they are no longer actual motorcycles. They have more computer parts than motorcycle parts. When it comes to Harleys, older bikes it's at.
