Hi Dave, love your videos.I learned how to use the faderport 16 before I got it by watching your video.Concerning the Banking on the faderport and the computer,With the track button on and the bank button on: push the next button and the faders will go to the next 16 on the faderport. Push the previous button to get back to the original 16 faders.BUTTTT if you want the computer faders to move do this,When you push the next button look at the view screens on the faderport, look at the last one like 23 horns, press the select button and the computer faders will move to the same view as the faderport. To send the computer back to tracks 1 thru 16, press the previous button on the faderport then press the select button on the far left. The computer will return to tracks 1 thru 16. Hope this will help someone.
This video came just in time! I just got my FP16 last Friday! FYI, the User 1 function (Shift + Touch) is showing/hiding the automation lanes on the selected track. So if you had any automation, it would show there. Since you don't have anything on that BGV track, nothing's there... yet. :)
Looking into buying this but what scares me is as soon as i buy it a new one will come out. Is there any news of a new faderport coming out. Thanks for all your mixing help
I'd love to see you doing panning automation along with volume automation using the Faderport. Thx, great video. I definitely learned something and I use it pretty routinely but have a ways to go yet, so I appreciate the videos.
Thanks for these very comprehensive tutorials. Placing Markers are required in much of my workflow. Question: Can the Marker funtion drop-in (tap-in) Markers during live recording, or monitoring Playback using this Unit?
I get ya Dave on the PAN button. However, panning with the faders can be a boon if/when the mixing exercise to fill the left/right space properly in the mix (eg for a vocal mix, horn section, or even drums). If I were not working through that in aggregate, then the blue knob is preferred.
I just got a Faderport 16 and have it set up as Logic Pro/MCU in Reaper. It works okay. I really had to play around with it to use the faders in mixing. I'd select a track or two and use the latch soft button. Took me a while to figure out to deselect the pan envelope in Reaper because the faders would only control panning until I did that. Biggest issue I haven't figured out: It seems there's a limit as to how many tracks you can mix at the same time. With four or more, the track volumes and fader positions start to stutter. Seems to be a known problem and not with just Reaper. Sure wish Prosonus would address this.
Hey brother nice video. Is there any limitations on how many mixer channels we could control with the fader port ??? I was searching an answer for this and couldn't get a straight forward one so far. Thank you
Thank you for these faderport videos, I have been thinking about getting one, but I have been skeptical about it. These videos have answered most of the questions I had about a fader port, mainly being able to see past 16 channels on the faders. Another question Is how can you select a loop range with the fader port? Is that possible ? Or would I still need to use the mouse and select the loop range. Thanks !
Without the Faderport, in Studio One I mapped Command +1 to Start of a loop range and I mapped Command +2 to set the end of a loop range. I just hate using the mouse for that since the bar is so thin. I would imagine that with the Faderport you can just use 2 of the user buttons to do the same . That is what I will do when my FP16 gets here on Tuesday. 😊
Hi, if I use faderport 16 with Cubase and I touch a fader, it assigns the corresponding select button. how do I get the same action with Studio One as DAW? thank you
Is it possible to go from VCA with a button but all the faders for that group (say VCA for drums, one click and all the drums is placed individually. My former CS18ai did that, I loved it! ) Also wonder if you can daisy chain two FP16? (ad there are no extensions sadly) I miss my CS18ai .. anyone want to sell theirs?
Hey Dave if you want any help with learning the ins and outs of the faderport in Studio One hit me up with any questions. I'd consider myself a power user as I use mine all the time

Just started diving into my FP8 and this series was super helpful - thanks so much!
Very welcome!

Not that I am aware of but who knows. It has been years since the fader port was released so I am sure something new will eventually come out
I'd love to see you doing panning automation along with volume automation using the Faderport. Thx, great video. I definitely learned something and I use it pretty routinely but have a ways to go yet, so I appreciate the videos.
Thanks for the idea!

Yes you can! the the keyboard shortcut "Y"
12:31 thank you this is exactly what i wanted to know !
Great! Thanks for watching!

Thanks for watching! I did not have any issues with fader "stuttering"
Your MacOs Dock is impressive
Thanks, I guess...LOL

I dont think there are any limitations with the faderport
I agree on the panning - you pan with a pot, not a fader.
Thanks!
Hi , will be purchasing this tomorrow, Is it easy to go between 2 DAW's ? i.e Luna & Logic
Yes, it should with no issue. If you purchase form Sweetwater, please use my link, it you wouldn't mind?. imp.i114863.net/c/2224454/792013/11319
Great series, I was looking forward to more, but it looks like parts 3 and 4 are private. How do we get access to them?
Are are going live this week.
2:56 I've noticed the same thing on PC too. I wonder if it is autosaving?
Not sure, good point!
Great video. Considering this FaderPort 16 or the Slate RAVEN MTi2. Which do you think is better for the same price?
I have not used a Raven in 5 years so I cant say.
Great video Dave , but it's the section button not selection.@ 3:13 or so.
Ok thanks

I am not sure if you can set the loop range directly from the FP. I would have to research that

Is the use for this if you already have ssl uc1 and uf8?
no need for it if you have the UF8
Thank you sir
Welcome!!
Hi, if I use faderport 16 with Cubase and I touch a fader, it assigns the corresponding select button. how do I get the same action with Studio One as DAW? thank you
I am really not sure. I recommend that you go to the Presonus user forum and post your question there. I am sure someone there can help. Thanks!

I miss my CS18ai .. anyone want to sell theirs?
Yes, you can daisy chain the two fader ports together
@@HomeRecordingMadeEasy Thanks. Then again thats $2000+ .. would it make sense to get a Studio live instead? hmm
Anyone have any experience with the Faderport 16 and Reaper? Thanks!
I dont thin k it works very well with Reaper but maybe someone here in the comments can verify that.
@@HomeRecordingMadeEasy Thanks for your reply. It seems like it would be pretty fitting. How's the Faderport 16's MIDI mode? Fully configurable?
my jog wheel works for zooming and scroll but won’t switch between channels 😭
interesting
You have to keep the shift key held and hold the fader for a second or so for it to reset to unity
You'll see that in PT 3
Hey Dave if you want any help with learning the ins and outs of the faderport in Studio One hit me up with any questions. I'd consider myself a power user as I use mine all the time
I'll keep that in mind. Thanks. If you are a power user, maybe you should also create a YT video. It would help others
@@HomeRecordingMadeEasy i don't have the video editing software or a mic to make videos
is there a way to make the channel advance with the wheel? 12:14
Thanks!
Thank you very much!!
