Great series, Dave. I'm going to program some of my function buttons like you showed on the 3rd video and start getting more out of my Faderport 8. I'll also use it more for the plug-ins thanks to this video. I appreciate your time. Merry Christmas.

Hi Dave, you don't need to map the open/close function to a user button as its already there on the Faderport. Press Shift and Macro (its secondary function is Open). It will open/close the plugin GUI

Thanks Dave, debating whether to invest the time in learning the FP 16. Don't want to get lost in the weeds and loose weeks of recording time. But maybe!

for recording? don't waste your money. Surface controls are really more for mixing and there are better solutions out there than the FP16. Just watch my more recent videos

Hi Dave, nice video. I see that you drag the "Hand" to the button and not the fader in the mapping window. Just to let you know, you can drag it to the fader below the button. This way you can map a parameter to the fader and another to the button on top of the fader. All the best

I dont use Reason and I dont know anyone else who does. That's why you wont find any videos. Have you ever considered switching to a different DAW? Something where if you need help, you can actually find some info?

While in Edit Plugin, is there a way to scroll through Presets?

It would be great if you did maybe one more video on how to control instruments. Yes, it would be probably very similar to this one, but it's not intuitive to figure out how to do it and it seems that everyone is showing only how to control FX but not how to control instruments.

I dont use the fader port for that or even use midi instruments so that video will have to be done by someone else

Hey Dave. Thanks for the video. I recently purchased one of these and noticed that the motor on the faders is pretty audible during automation passes. Have you noticed if the one you have is the same way? Need to know if I need to exchange it. Thanks!

I have not noticed that at all here

I was having some issues with my faders, seemed like the fader motor was grabbing... I reset back to factory default then restarted and selected studio one and the faders are smooth and quiet now and no more issues.... however I haven't used it for automation yet.

Is it possible to do at least some of this with the Single Channel v2?

Can you control plugins in other DAWs?

    • @HomeRecordingMadeEasy

yes, but it's "clunky" to say the least. None of these DAW controller do a good job controlling plugins in my opinion
