Gr8 videos , as a fellow vintage campervanner u r right about impatient drivers france etc, btw italy is way less impatient (especially trucks) imo. I find to weed out many of those pesky tailgaters just go around roundabouts on the double , u lose up to 6 tailgaters a time and ye don't even need to brake. Slan
My god they took out in France. At a round a bout in Saint Jean de luz I was waiting to get out and it was jammed... the guy behind started beeping flipping me off and and the next 2 kilometres he flipped me off and overtook us dangerously with the passenger flipping us off too 🤣🤣 we did the roundabout trick a few times. What campervan do you have?
@@ShaneandAneVanLife 30year old ducato so not quite of ur own van era .Taking on that challenge u do is a credit to u both !! along with that trusty toolbox . Hope u get many more subscribers as it comes across that yis have great chemistry between yis with a genuine fun feel to the channel. I take my camper over from ireland for a month every yr to the continent and convince myself thats epic. U lot are on another level , leading the way with all tips and pitfalls put up for all the rest of us save us the trouble of falling into. Gwan Cavan van man , Viva la'spagna 😜👍
Do the little Red Bus have a TH-cam as I can't find it. With my T25 in and emergency I put the heater on full to get rid of some heat also I sometimes put the heater on for a minute before turning him off just to get rid of a bit of beat.

Yeah I also have the fan wired on a switch so I can turn it on whenever but that hill was like 10km long and I just wanted to give it a break 🤣🤣

Don't understand your comments regarding France being too expensive , France has one of the best selection of free Aires ,payed Aires , Village and Town Aires the list goes on ,Wild camping , Municipal Camping with most around 10euros , Come on I think you need a re think , Loved your Adventures up to now but looks like things are changing getting a bit Commercialised , but will still watch .
Hey Thanks for the comment! 100 agree with you on the free Aires and campsites etc cannot fault or take away from that but in regards to cost of living Fuel was averaging €2.05 a litre (1.55 in Spain) and our weekly shopping was doubled in France compared to Spain or Portugal. For example in Portugal a cooked chicken is €6 in France €13.. that's what we were relating to. France is beautiful but very pricey and it seemed to be the common feel about other campers we spoke with :) when you spend over a year in Spain it's a big difference.
Sorry you feel that way about the channel changing and becoming commercialised. It's our job and how we make money to keep making these videos. We only work with brands that we feel would benefit our audience and so far they have found them very useful for Vanlife.

@@ShaneandAneVanLife I don't want to start an argument I enjoy watching your channel . I have travelled mainly France for the last 20yrs and most of Europe , France has so many advantages over other Countries including the quality of Roads for Campervan life , Brittany for example you probably know are Toll free and the roads are great , fuel I agree is on the expensive side but there are loads of other plusses to factor in , Food can be dearer but I don't think by that much and most of it is local produce which is fine by and as for Chicken no never payed that much and there is a difference in that a lot of it is Free Range so would be dearer , the pork Chops are amazing and great value as is the Wine less than 9euros for 3 litres WOW . Keep up the good work

We agree France is beautiful the food is beautiful but we just found Spain and Portugal to be our favourite:)

Well said. This whole anti France agenda is bizarre. The guy comes over as a bit of a prat. Well more than a bit.
We found France more expensive than Ireland ( August 2023) but diesel here is up to French prices now. Saw €1.91 litre yesterday in Meath. In Normandy in any town a 500ml beer is €8!

Locals all seem to buy a "glass" and nurse it for 90 minutes........

Firstly, im glad Fergus is working great! Glad the repellent worked! i hate mosquitos! For the overheat, cant recall if you ever replaced the radiator? and/or adding a small 12v fan in the engine bay to push air in? Thanks for the heads up about France! planning to do the Camino in the future, need to factor that into my budget. Take Care!

Well Fergus wasn't overheating but the hill was several kilometres long and steep and temp hand remained constantly on point. We just pulled in just to be save and not to get too hot. We have the fan wired on a switch so I can switch it in when I want. I'd like to wire in a gan into engine bay. Just finding the correct size of fan.
France is so expensive. Defiantly didn't expect it. Thanks for watching :)

Seeing your van on a breakdown lorry reminded me of when our camper died in France last year - new alternator £1000. My wife calls diesel 'petrol' too.

We went to Spain through France once & never again, always the Santander ferry 😆 France is just too expensive 😩

Rubbish.
It just looks so great - food, view, friendship, VW T25 not breaking down :D How do you guys afford to finance your trip? Do you have jobs to go back to or just have some cash to sustain you for a while etc? I do wonder if I could do a similar thing for a few years, but wonder about the costs me and my partner would incur in our van etc. LOVE the videos - you two are great :)
Thank you so much!! Vw community is the best!! We both are engineers and worked up and saved for a while. Now we do content creation, brand deals, video sponsors, and that allows us to travel.
It's a lot of work but it's possible 🤗

Well that was interesting. We lived in France, Carcassonne for 11 years and agree it has got very expensive. It is a beautiful country though and worth it if you can afford it but not good if you’re on a budget. Shame.
When we lived in Carcassonne we used to visit the Costa Brava regularly and indeed have just got back from a holiday in Llafranc which is gorgeous. I hope you visit there so you can tell me how to pronounce it correctly, although I don’t know if you speak Catalan or if the pronunciation is different.

Ouch! France is indeed expensive, just like Ireland. 😂😂😂 We are off there next month, so we’ll have to try to keep the wallet happy. By the way, in Spain a few months ago we got diesel at €1.23. How insane was that.

the whole video this guy doing some french bashing like "insane people" etc why he came here anyway there are dozen and dozen video like "foreigners doing some van trip no problems and found france very nice
People have had different experiences! We found France beautiful but very expensive and also our experience with insane people has to do with the drivers. First experience a car load of guys drove by hanging out the windows with hand gestures etc and the next were lorry drivers trying to beep us off the road when we had nowto pull in.
Don't get me wrong France is stunning but we found it expensive and a lot of unsafe places due to break in but that's also in Spain too
