I want to do this but I'm nervous. I'm thinking to buy something already made. But the land allows your real dreams to come true!

I still get nervous before building a new house, but if I break it down into small projects like, building the foundation, building the subfloor, lifting walls then it doesnt feel like such a huge thing to do. But building a home your imagination is the only limit!

Hey thank you! We are just about ready to start a new house build and when I do the time lapse for that one I'll add some sound into it, I think that's a good idea you have! The regular videos I'll keep some construction sounds in there, give them a real job site feel

@slothconstruction what step were you doing at 21:39? I assumed you were painting, then when I saw no paint I wasnt sure what was happening

That step was spraying on the knock down texture. Once the texture dried (about 24 hours) I painted on the PVA drywall primer.

I can’t understand why the houses are made so flimsy?? Where are the bricks lintels RSJ ?? My father use to build houses but our walls are poured concrete with 3/8 reinforcement bars al the way through and the apex beams are 8 and inch thick and 10 in places and my house was built in 1947 … still standing and as strong as an ox … just a thought !!

As a general rule, newer homes are safer, more energy-efficient, and less prone to unpleasant surprises than older homes. Houses built since 1980 generally have benefited from better construction techniques, energy efficiency standards, code requirements, and safety standards- by these measures, newer homes are superior to older homes, Revelations about the toxicity of some older materials, especially lead, arsenic, and asbestos, have resulted in reform and today these materials are no longer being installed.

The contents of construction in my house were all replaced in 2005, I have lived here in this house since 1998, my father’s brother had a team of men who built these houses in Kent UK . It was named the wall reads estate before the council officially gave the roads permanent names, these properties are seldom on the market because of the structure and warmth in the winter and coolness in the summer. My Grandfather a Sergeant in the Green Howards, he also fort in Sudan and Egypt and was the open light weigh champion of both, so the council gave him the position of watchman of all the materials for the houses, Up to a thousand houses … not one 2 by 4 or a nail went missing and all he carried with him was a torch of an evening. I have witnessed many homes being built here and over the pond and it surprises me that over the pond nails are used instead of screws… but there again you’re weather there is 100% far more powerful than what we get over here. Be lucky and happy for laughter is a powerful memory Regards Sharon.
