It seems as if you could use long buries if you are using a longer length of smaller diameter line, which would avoid the un-braid/re-braid step required to make a Mobius Brummel splice on a continuous loop. Very nice. Thanks for the time lapse!

Greg, good observation and you are mostly correct. This particular loop happens to be very long so it is unique, the diameter of line used and number of passes is pre-calculated for the desired end strength. The 'Mobius' locking bury is not ideal and not as strong in this application and I never use it. Essentially, multiple passes of smaller diameter yields the most 'round' profile of infinite loop. The trick is to determine how much construction stretch will be removed when pre-stretching thus taking up the extra space of cover giving you a firm covering and in the final loop dimension you want. If there is too much slack in the cover you have to either lengthen the loop slightly (which may not be possible) or remove a bit of cover.

Thanks Luke! When are you giving your video class? I love your work and want to DIY for pride of ownership, not to cut you out of your money. How about a course series behind a patron level firewall. Lol, I have to slow your time lapse so I can figure out what you are doing!

I primarily use Teurfelberger brands (New England Ropes, FSE Robline, Etc). I also use Samson Rope products as well as Hampdijan and others depending on the application.
