Wooo! I still have dreams about driving along those roads. I used to live there for many years but escaped to Cornwall in 2004 and have no intention of ever going back to that part of the country. I have found my paradise. I only wish I had moved here sooner.
That's changed a hel of a lot, just watching it now, there was a small shop on the left as you turn into Creek Road, and also a garage on the left hand side which one year had Chitty Chitty Bang Bang car in on the forecourt. The club I can't remember what it was called it changed names over the years, and we stayed opposite the club some flats above the shops, and also in bungalows right down Sandy Point End about half a Dozen up from The Golden Coin. You also had a hospital right down the end of Sandy Point, from what I remember for people with mental health issues, and when the tide went out you could walk across to a small island.. There were shops directly opposite the Funfair with a fish and chip restaurant and I think some gift shops and small supermarket type of thing. The Houseboats also were there I think when we went down there which for myself was from the mid 60's until at least the early 80's, and then day trips
A bit disappointed as loved on Hayling from 71-77, you the house where I need the near the end of Southwood Rd passed Creek Rd and the small estate that's opposite Beachlands funfair that once held the mansion built by the Sandeman Port family before becoming several convents, I was at St.Patrick's Open Air School till it became St.Francis deepest is Salle before becoming a choice school
