People still don't understand that hunting and fighting require different skill sets but, having said that, I agree that the lioness would probable lose because she does almost no fighting in her life in a pride.
As a former high school wrestler who now enjoys the occasional run, I doubt that a lioness's greater chasing endurance really translates into greater one-on-one fighting endurance. Two very different kinds of fatigue.

Tigress got this. It’s bigger, stronger, a better solitary predator, has the durability to stand on two legs and use both front paws to swing, and have a heavier swipe force. If both were to fight in a pit or cage, the favor will go in the tigress; now if the fight is prolonged, then the tigress will gas out and this in turn will go in the favor of the lioness. Same thing goes for male lions and tigers.
Each would bring specific advantages... Lioness... Like a male lion, a female would be taller and thus have greater reach and thus allow it to keep the fight at a distance. A lioness would also come in with a more aggressive temperament than a tigress which ultimately comes from its social lifestyle. Solitary cats generally try to avoid conflict wherever possible because of the risk of major injury. However, because lions live in groups and can get the benefit of help when injured, even lionesses will be more aggressive in terms of dealing with outsiders on the pride's territory, regardless of the species of the intruder. This has often meant that even lionesses outside the pride have been at risk of being attacked by the females of the pride... even if this unrelated female hooks up with the pride male. Tigress... With the Bengal and Siberian subspecies, the most obvious advantage would be in size. A Bengal Tigress will be slightly heavier than an African Lioness, and a Siberian Tigress even larger than that. A lot of this will come from denser muscle that is packed around a more compact frame. Which in turn would mean that while a tigress would be shorter in height, once it can close the distance, its punch is MUCH stronger. It would also need to be a far more capable combatant, for while tigers typically may seek to avoid conflict within their species, because they are solitary... if they can't find a way to avoid the fight, they'd need to be fierce enough to win as losing would then mean death. And ultimately this would favor the tigress. Being aggressive does not improve the capabilities of an individual lioness, and thus without the assistance of a pride, that aggression could well give it trouble against a stronger and fiercer (once the battle is joined) opponent.
@@haachitingandu3874, @B2K Prasad - No it isn't. The Siberian Tiger is well documented as the largest cat in the world. There is no way that if we are to take the largest known size for a healthy Siberian Tigress and have it smaller than an African Lioness. And studies have shown that the Bengal Tiger is slightly heavier. The only way you're getting an African Lioness that is larger is if one deliberately takes a lioness from the upper size range for an African Lioness and then taking a Bengal Tigress from the lower limits of its size range... which isn't exactly a fair comparison. If one is going to make the comparison, you either take the largest specimen for both species, which would favor the tiger or the average for them, which would again favor the tiger. Check the National Geographic listing for the two tiger subspecies and the African Lion. The tiger is bigger.
@@SamuelJamesNary Lioness are bigger than Siberian tigress. Also Siberian Tigers have long been proven by stats that they are not the largest tiger (the North Indian Bengal is) let alone the largest cat
A tigress seems way more regal than a lioness. Definitely my choice would be a tigress. Given the tales of ferocity of tiger mothers, it is clear that a tiger has the edge. Also, the image at 4:45 was clicked by me last year..it is a tigress called Riddhi from Ranthambore Tiger Reserve
Even though I like tigers a bit more than lions I don't like how bias many are towards tigers , they act like tigers are Gods that can kill elephants. In reality lions and tigers weigh around the same in the wild and same with the females as well. It's an extreamely close fight and I'd bet on 50-50 or 55 percent on the tiger but definitely not more than that , people are so ignorant and biased
The animals lionesses have to hunt are far more aggressive than most a tigresses has to face, e.g. hippo, rhino, giraffe, and even the buffalos they face are more dangerous and aggressive.
They also don’t usually hunt rhinos hippos or giraffes and there’s also a big difference between hunting and actually killing your hunt sure you can try but you brag about once they killed you tigers hunt bears and live to tell the tail bears are big af so are the things you said but it takes hives ass prides to hunt them
the answer is clear, the lioness is much stronger because she is a hunter, hunts large animals, and fights with hyenas, leopards, and wild dogs every day.
The siberian tigeress has a 79% chance to slay the lioness because the tigeress is far more experienced, far more powerful, and far more larger AND THAT IS A FACT
This would be a very close fight but i think tiger has the win of 55% of the time because it is more aggressive, slightly stronger/muscular and has better fighting style and reflexes, that is to stand on its strong hindlegs and use both of its front paws continously at the same time whereas lioness uses one only front paw and has weaker hindlegs!
Lioness hss been known to take down an eland, wildebeest and zebra alone and better stamina, so you can't deny that lioness is a poorer solo hunter than a tigress, they are both equally good hunter and killer, they are both very agile
Firstly compare a african wild buffalo and an Indian Gaur. A tigress alone takes down an Indian gaur while lionesses need whole pack to take down a single wild Buffalo.
Definitely the tigress! An animal that hunts alone successfully has to have an incalculable advantage over a group or pack hunting animal. And if the battle were to happen at night, in pitch darkness, where the tigress hunts habitually, how much more advantaged would our Asian feline be? Or if the battle terrain happened to be a pond or a swamp? No question, as tigers are great swimmers. Or, for that matter, snow, in the case of the Siberian tiger? Again, tigers come out on top. What terrain would particularly advantage the lioness? Open savanna, I suppose, in a hot, sun scorched environment. In such surroundings, maybe the lioness could outlast the tigress in terms of stanima. If the tigress hit her redline & became utterly exhausted, that could be the lion's one great chance.
Hard to choose.Tigresses is stronger and with stronger bite force but lionesses is more agressive and have more stamina. It would be very hard battle.i would go with 50:50 chance. It would really depend on individual cat.
People keep bringing up irrelevant nonsense like hunting ability, prey and aggressiveness. Much more significant is the animals build structure. The subtle differences in build structure is much more important. Even if the cats are the same size the tigress is more robust, has bigger legs, claws and teeth and is more agile in a confined space, all big advantages.
Well, that's an interesting opinion. Mine is different. My conclusion is simple. I think that when it comes to tigers vs lion debate, a lot of unqualified people make qualified decisions or opinions! Hence it's not a surprise to me that tigers generally are favored to win such match-ups vs lions!
"Often maul male lions" Lmao you tiger fanatics prove again and again which of the two fanbase is worse, the lion fans are bad in the case they don't wanna accept tigers beat lions in same gendered fights more often but you tiger fans are worse in exaggerating the power of tigers like a tigress can beat a male lion in 1/50 encounters, 49 times the male lion is winning it, saying the tigress mauls the male lion often is stupid
Bengal tigresses are the hands-down largest tigresses. There is not so much of size difference among Bengal tigers and tigresses, whereas Siberian tigresses are MUCH smaller than males. One adult African lioness stands absolutely no chance against an adult Bengal tigress who are considerably larger and solo-hunters. A lioness has no mane to protect her throat.
@@AthleticEducation a lioness is the biggest and strongest female cat, a female tiger has a zero Chance to win, besides lionesses spend their lives fighting each other and others like big hyena Clans, so a lioness is stronger bigger , an amazing huntress with much more fight experiences and skills
Lioness has more stamina so in the long run they would win. But tigers are stronger, so it all depends on the cat. But i think the tiger would win most of time.
yes..Remember Lionness are very durable. They often get picked on by Hyenas who have stronger bitr force than the Tigers themselves. So the tigress would need to quickly take down the Lioness because if it doesnt the lionness stamina could play a major role
@@mugensensei_ thats true but remember now it isnt always the bite force wat these animals have see the only advantage hyenas really has is there bite. But tigers have powerful strength in there paws what is much stronger than a lions what can really cost damage to a lion and tigers has thicker fur but depends on the cat it can go either way
Lions pride are formidabele hunters, but individually they are not that tough, tigers are much tougher. They are solo hunters and can take down similar size prey and even crocs! They can also fight on their behind legs and strike with their powerful paws. So its more likely that the tigress would win before its stamina runs out.
Also, the lioness is not just a pack hunter , hunger and the cubs needs drive her to hunt alone when she has to . Overall the tigress is majestic and deadly but far as brawn, brain, lifestyle (and or duties ), the Lioness is hands down Queen of the jungle. Fighting , cub rearing, brain, social structure makes the female lion a jack of all trades.
I think the tigeress just has too many advantages for the lioness to overcome. But probably a lioness could win maybe two or three times out of ten with the stamina advantage.
I don't know, tigeress is stronger but the lioness has more stamina/energy which means it can fight longer. I might go for tigeress, but if lioness wins, it kind of makes sense depending on how smart the 2 are and how they fight, it's just like a equal fight, I gotta go with the tigeress because it's slightly stronger.
10:14 this is because the tigress is more stealthy than lioness to stalk the water Buffalo and does not have to pursue after it for further distances like does a lioness pride in the Savanah! Also, the African Buffalo is the most aggressive wild cattle and live in larger herds so it clearly explains why it's difficult even for a lioness pride to take down these dangerous beasts!🤦♂️True fact 😌👌😉

Tigress got this. It’s bigger, stronger, a better solitary predator, has the durability to stand on two legs and use both front paws to swing, and have a heavier swipe force. Just a reminder of why I consider tigers overrated☝️
@@forcesofnature7535 lion are much more
Each would bring specific advantages...
African lioness bigger than both of them in weight
An African lioness is heavier than either Bengal or siberian tigress!
