Lion is NOT the king of Africa LOL! It's not even top 5. You have Elephants, Hippos, Rhinos and Nile Crocs, any of them can easily beat the Lion one on one. A full grown healthy Elephant can take on a pride of Lions easily. The ranking should be. 1. Elephant - the true King of Africa 2. Rhino 3. Hippo 4. Nile Croc 5. Giraffe (arguably, since it can still beat a Lion in a 1 vs 1).
I remember in the 1930s and 1940s there was a lion tamer named Clyde Beatty. He had lions and tigers. He also had a lion that would end up fighting and killing his tigers. I believe that was in the late 40s early 50s. In either case, they are powerful predators.
In the 1950s, Clyde Beatty, a lion tamer, had a lion who kept killing his tigers. They called it the tiger killing lion. Still I wouldn't bet on a battle between the two.

Male lions also have their mane, which protects them from bites to the neck. One advantage against the tiger. However Jaguars don't aim for the neck, they crush the skull.
Scientifically measured? When apart from Nat Geo wild debunking this, you can find many videos of conservative packs owners measuring their big cats biteforce on here, there's no reason to be this ignorant in 2024
Who measured the 650 psi bite force of the lion? From which study was this information obtained? Just cause the wildciensus says the bite force of a lion is 650 psi, it doesn't mean that it's true or indeed a fact.
Lion Usually hunt in group and the tiger hunt along. They are solitary tiger have more experience in solo hunt so if it come to 1vs1 tiger have more advantage
Tigers being larger than lions is outdated information. Studies indicate that both animals roughly weigh the same on average with the bengal tiger being the largest of all the tiger subspecies. Wild siberian tigers weigh around 360-400 pounds wheras lions and bengal tigers weigh around 420 pounds. Im also not sure where you got the idea from that tigers are more muscular than lions when lions usually perform better in strength tests. Big cat experts who have worked with both animals usually give it to the lion aswell. Most people however prefer tigers because they look cooler to them and will get butt hurt when somebody claims that a lion will kill a tiger in combat. Facts over feelings.
bite force is not a determining factor of who will win. it is not a biting competition. actual combat skills, reflexes, raw strength, skill to plan and execute the attack, all this matter.
One thing not mentioned is that a tiger will almost inevitably be fighting alone, whereas most lions can summon assistance with a roar or two. So if they occupied the same land the outcome would most likely favour the lion. But I know that’s not what was being compared. I just added a dash of reality to the discussion.
@@raptor___ Really,is that why a survey done by Raul Valvert which used many specimens from multiple NPs such as Madya Pradesh,Chitwan,Teral and Hyderabad saw an average of 200.5 kgs?
Let me clarify one thing that Tigers are solo hunters, it hunts alone, there are certain reasons which makes tigers the most successful predators currently on earth, Firstly a fully grown tiger can weigh heavier than an African lion the only reason why they are more muscular, Secondly their claws & canines are much bigger as compared to Lions, Thirdly their bite force is more as compared to any other cat, Fourthly tigers can run faster than lions & can even swim, these are the characteristics of tiger which makes them to hunt a prey successfully, whereas a Lion 🤮 depends on lionesses & hunts in herds for their prey, they always hunt in group but a Tiger never calls his companion to hunt it's prey.

How strong tiger compare to other big cats Tigers are among the strongest and most powerful big cats, excelling in size, strength, and predatory skills. Here's how they compare to other big cats: 1. Size and Strength Tigers (Panthera tigris): Tigers, especially the Siberian and Bengal subspecies, are the largest big cats. Adult males can weigh between 200-300 kg (440-660 lbs) and measure up to 3.3 meters (11 feet) in length, including the tail. Lions (Panthera leo): Lions are slightly smaller, with males weighing 150-250 kg (330-550 lbs). While lions rely on teamwork (prides), tigers are solitary hunters, emphasizing their individual strength. Jaguars (Panthera onca): Jaguars are more compact and muscular, weighing 56-96 kg (123-212 lbs). They have the strongest bite force relative to body size but are smaller overall. Leopards (Panthera pardus): Leopards are smaller, weighing 30-90 kg (66-198 lbs), and rely on agility and stealth rather than brute strength. Cheetahs (Acinonyx jubatus): Cheetahs are the lightest, weighing 20-72 kg (44-158 lbs), and are built for speed, not strength. 2. Hunting and Killing Power Tigers are apex predators, capable of taking down prey larger than themselves, including buffalo, gaur, and even young elephants. Lions hunt in groups and target medium to large herbivores, such as zebras and wildebeests. Jaguars specialize in ambush hunting and can crush turtle shells with their powerful jaws. Leopards rely on stealth and speed, preying on smaller animals and dragging kills into trees. Cheetahs hunt smaller prey like gazelles, relying on their exceptional speed. 3. Physical Power Muscle Density: Tigers have dense muscle mass, particularly in their forelimbs, allowing them to overpower large prey and rivals. Bite Force: Jaguars lead in bite force among big cats, but tigers have a powerful bite capable of crushing bones. Claw Strength: Tigers' retractable claws are formidable tools for gripping and killing prey. 4. Behavior and Adaptation Tigers are solitary, relying entirely on their strength and hunting skills for survival. Lions, being social, may lack the individual strength of a tiger but excel in teamwork. Jaguars and leopards rely on stealth, while cheetahs depend on speed. Overall Comparison Tigers are often considered the strongest of all big cats due to their combination of size, muscle power, and solitary hunting prowess. While lions may challenge tigers in terms of social dynamics and jaguars excel in bite force, no other big cat matches the tiger's overall physical strength and versatility.

That’s why tigers win over lions, because they’re MUCH more skilled hunters stronger and more athletic overall
One thing not mentioned is that a tiger will almost inevitably be fighting alone, whereas most lions can summon assistance with a roar or two. The Barbary Lion still exists. They are only found in Zoos around the world today. I think that the Barbary Lion should still be on this list.
There are three big cats. Lions, tigers, jaguars. Thats it. All the others are significantly smaller

Bull Shark: 5.914 N
American Alligator: 9.452 N
Mako Shark: 13.000 N
Saltwater Crocodile: 16.414 N
Great White Shark: 18.216 N (4,095lbs)
Orca: 19.000 N
T-rex: 57.000 N
How is 593 N = 133 lbs but 18.216 N = 4095 lbs???!?!!?

How strong tiger compare to other big cats
Tigers are among the strongest and most powerful big cats, excelling in size, strength, and predatory skills. Here's how they compare to other big cats:
1. Size and Strength
Tigers (Panthera tigris): Tigers, especially the Siberian and Bengal subspecies, are the largest big cats.
2. Hunting and Killing Power
Tigers are apex predators, capable of taking down prey larger than themselves, including buffalo, gaur, and even young elephants.
3. Physical Power
Muscle Density: Tigers have dense muscle mass, particularly in their forelimbs, allowing them to overpower large prey and rivals.
Bite Force: Jaguars lead in bite force among big cats, but tigers have a powerful bite capable of crushing bones.
Claw Strength: Tigers' retractable claws are formidable tools for gripping and killing prey.
4. Behavior and Adaptation
Tigers are solitary, relying entirely on their strength and hunting skills for survival.
Lions, being social, may lack the individual strength of a tiger but excel in teamwork.
Jaguars and leopards rely on stealth, while cheetahs depend on speed.
Overall Comparison
Tigers are often considered the strongest of all big cats due to their combination of size, muscle power, and solitary hunting prowess. While lions may challenge tigers in terms of social dynamics and jaguars excel in bite force, no other big cat matches the tiger's overall physical strength and versatility.
The lion’s biggest advantage is its mane which acts as a shield against its enemies.
