    Great video, thanks! Very straightforward and helpful. I just purchased this model today - can't wait to try it out tomorrow morning. I"m retiring my 40 year old Braun centrifugal juicer - it's still working fine, but doesn't do greens very well. I don't have eczema, but have several autoimmune issues, and am trying to regain my health naturally because the medicines prescribed to me only mask symptoms if they even do that. Here's to healing from within!

    I lucked out. Managed to pick this up for $100. Was a little suspicious but once I heard the story I wasn't anymore. Turns out the guy had broke up with his girlfriend and she wanted it even though he paid for it. So....ya I got a great deal off the back of heart breaks.

    Read the directions - the screen strainer is only to be used after juicing is done to remove pulp from the juice if you like less pulp for a thinner juice. The directions say to pour the results of the juicing through the strainer when pouring into a pitcher if you like your juice thinner. I prefer it thicker. I think the extra fiber is good for you.

      Look at 1:55. You have the strainer on top of the juice receptacle. According to the directions you strain when pouring the juice into a pitcher or glass, not when you are grinding the product. Putting the screen there could cause a back up and overflow. Try it without the strainer one time. Juice is thicker and adds some very healthy pulp to the juice.

    • @nsjohn130
      @nsjohn130 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      EczemaHealing.org he's right actually. The directions say to not lay the screen under where the juice chute is.
      It's for afterwards when pouring.

    Thanks for the review. Have you had any problems with the filter screen breaking? This seems to be a problem with quite a few reviewers.
    Here is one such review - "I bought this juicer and was very pleased with it... until the juicing screen broke only 1 week later. I juice 2 ounces of wheat grass daily. I have broken 3 screens so far! Omega is quick in sending me new screens, but I'm stuck with aging wheat grass and unable to juice until the new screen gets to me. And really, how many screens is too any? When will they start charging me for shipping? They should specify this is for occasional wheat grass juicing. I seriously need to return this. Hasn't been 2 months yet so I'll try to return it where I bought it."

    I just wanted to stop by and see if you could give a word or two of advice. I just bought mine a week ago and the very first juicing was amazing. I was so impressed by the auger as I made my very green juice. However, I don’t know what I’ve done differently because the very next day it’s less impressive as I find the screens getting quite caught with fruit/vegetable fiber and pulp which I have to then stop the machine and clean out very frequently. The first day I juiced all greens: romaine, celery, cucumber, parsley, and kale. The next juice that same day was pineapple, papaya, lemon, ginger, and turmeric. Both times I was so pleased with the result. The next day is where I found it struggling and collecting a lot of pulp in the clear chamber and the mesh screens were full as well. The ingredients were grapefruit, papaya, lemon, ginger, and turmeric. Not much different from the previous day. I sliced off the peels on everything as well. I will reach out to the company to see if I’m doing something wrong with the assembly since it worked perfectly the first day and not there after. If you have any thoughts, please let me know. Thank you in advance and be well 🙏

    • @isaacpage6719
      @isaacpage6719 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      this is a great machine but I think it doesn't work well with just soft fruits like the papaya and the grapefruit...try mixing the soft fruits with celery, carrots or greens...just a suggestion..

    • @thevitalityproject
      @thevitalityproject  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Perhaps there wasn't enough fibre in the day you did grapefruit to keep the juicer running well. Remember, your omega is like a human digestive system - needs fibre! When juicing, alternate your produce as you go through. And also make sure the juicing screen is thoroughly washed and brushed so the holes are clear after each session. 9 years and going strong!

    i do not use the pulp and I always use or run the pulp a second time. to clean use a bottle brush 1 1/2 inch to clean everything.
    You lose the fiber but i love because i never throw away anything. I just juice it . What a bargain it juices well and is easy to clean. Number one juicing items, kale follow by carrot and celery You can juice almost all veggie and fruits I never throw anything away i just juice it. 5 stars because it paid for itself.

    Good review, thanks for the effort. The fact you've had it for so long and can recommend it still after over 1,000 juices is good enough for me. I wonder if a cost analysis would reveal this as even a better buy. I mean, if you juice each day how hard would it be to spend a couple of extra dollars a day because of poor extraction. Low temperature of this kind of machine seems to make sense from a nutrient retention point of view as well.

    Hi there , could it be that the Omega 8006 is the same as the Hurom Oscar Da 1000 ? They are selling those now in Europe, with the relatively small feed, but with the nice 5 setting end bit.(As well as all the different attachments for Pasta and 2 different screens. I paid 260 Euros for it , the Omega NC 800 selling for 400 Euros.

    I have an Omega and love it. I do find it annoying when juicing certain items (ie an entire pineapple, cut up) that I have to stop 3 maybe 4 times to clean it otherwise it will just internally slosh the contents. Is there anything I can do to help stop this? I found that starting with fiber then pulp ==> carrots, then add pineapples chunks, then back to carrots, pineapple, then ginger as an example seems to help vs saving pineapple for the end (because I dread it). Thanks!

    Like the review, most videos out there are (obvious) commercials but this one seems very honest, thanks for that man! Now it'd be really interesting if you'd also have experience with the solostar 4 (weaker but should yield more) and sana series (larger input) by omega since I have pretty much the same recipe except for more greens and less hard vegs/fruit and am about to buy a juicer. Also wanna make some (pre-cooked) lentils/beans dips and alike, which should be no problem whatsoever with any of these. Started juicing a week ago to test if, what, how much etc and am working with my Omniblend + nutmilk bag which is a pain in the ass ;)!

      Hey man, thanks for your answer! Yeah I know him, I've already watched a ton of his videos and some others too. Since I found a company that sells the Omega juicers here in my area, I'll go with something like that. But I actually found out that Hurom seems to produce all the Omega, Bionika, Oscar and Vidia (maybe even more) and it's just that the Omega is the newest model and/or gets the most attention. The core is still the same (materials, design), they just have some with and some without adjustable endcap, or in the newer model, a juice screener with big and one with smaller holes (+ glass bowl, stainless steel jar). Obviously the design on the outside is different. And the Vidia has 10 years more warranty on the motor, same length on all the other parts, and is 60 bucks cheaper.

      +N 9 N E Yes, this style of juicer works best on harder fruits and veggies, but it's OK for soft ones too, you just don't need to press down very hard on the plunger. Alternate your soft fruits with harder ones during the juicing, to keep things crunching through nicely.

    • @thevitalityproject
      @thevitalityproject  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Jake It is possible indeed. In fact it's quite normal for that to happen due to the increased level of vitality the body has, i.e. the increased amount of energy it has to push toxins out. Great video! It was interesting to see what was left in the head after juicing. Just one criticism - you say several times that it’s a ‘masticating’ juicer but it’s not. It’s a cold press, slow juicer. The difference is shown in a video by John Kohler th-cam.com/video/9pc1bQqH2Jk/w-d-xo.html. Basically, a masticating juicer has an auger with little teeth at the top end which grate/chew the vegetables, then the auger pushes that pulp along and presses out the juice.

    Does the pulp ever get stuck in the filter/chute? I have an Angel juicer and the pulp builds up in the twin gears and the tiny filter so I have to take it apart and clean it out 4-5 times just to make around 800ml of juice. I lose about 15 minutes just cleaning as I juice!
