MSP guy here. Sun Country used to be my favorite airline. When I heard they were switching to a ULCC model I used all my uFly pts to book a first class ticket to visit friends in PHX. However, by that point the hallmark of Sun Country first class, their incredible meal service, had been phased out for a boxed dinner. I haven't flown them since. After baggage and seat fees they're practically the same price as Delta, which I'll pay a couple bucks more for undeniably superior service.
@@cheezycool01 and a big front seat for a reasonable cost. I would put Spirit ahead of Sun Country. Lower price in my experience. Much better reliability. I believe they rank suprisingly high in on time performance as well.
I’m flying sun country for the second time on Thursday I’m pretty excited. My last experience was good so I’m hoping for another one
I have flown sun country a few times and it’s not my favorite. However being a MN Native I love seeing travel vloggers fly this airline

Great trip report! Almost flew on Sun Country myself earlier this year (Rona). I love their new livery.
I thought it was funny during the long takeoff roll you said” are you sure were not driving to Minneapolis, the most thing that made me laugh all night!

Here I am watching this vid 2 years later and scheduled on a Sun Country flight to MSP from LAX in August. Funny that I'll be sitting in the same seat (5F). Looks like I'll be enjoying my flight. Fingers crossed not much has changed other than a good deep cleaning of the cabin.

I’ve flown on Sun Country a couple of times to RSW and JFK and back to MSP BEFORE they did the lower cost model. Their service was always great and that still seems to be the case. They even had hot dogs and burgers on their flights! It’s cool how they’re based here in MSP where I am. It is a bummer nowadays to drive by the runway and see so many Sun Country planes parked since they just aren’t operating as much. Apparently they have about 40 planes since they’re small. Small but great that is! It’s crazy how many flights there are to MSP, with most of those on Delta. Just crazy that screen you showed at DEN with all of those flights. Anyway, awesome video as always and I’m glad to see Sun Country is mostly doing well!
I actually like your video! First time watching it 😉....seemed like decent Pilots & Crew....did the Bathroom 🚽🪠 stink? It DID look a little Grungey🤮...lol....is WiFi available on flights now? Last time I flew was December 2013...they wouldn't even let people use their Devices at all😳...they claimed it interfered with the Jet's Computer's 💻🤔....I can definitely see that ...but what's changed?
My aunt and uncle fly them all the time and have for years, they had a DC-10 in their fleet back in the 8's i think? They are the "vacation, holiday Airline" i'm glad you liked it.
I fly sun country every time I go somewhere there soooo nice and I live in Minnesota and I think THAT SUN COUNTRY WILL BEAT SPIRIT 💯 persent

I haven't flown on Sun Country Airlines yet I probably will have to try it out when I get the chance
I did fly Sun Country from MSP to LAS first class several times. I got hooked on FC when I was flying a lot of long hauls for work. At the time, I was getting lots of Skymiles, so FC was easy with Delta. When that dried up, (the project ended) I moved to Sun Country. They had good meals, lots of choices for snacks, and they served a fresh baked cookie (smelled good, but "not all that" in terms of taste.) The also did a good job of keeping FC passengers "hydrated", but less so on the return flight back to MSP. Then they brought in that Bricker guy and sold out to this private equity company and FC went away. It's not THAT bad, but I do miss the 2x2 seats up front. Even Spirit has the big front seats! I hate being in a 3x3 seat, but it's only a 3 hour flight so I can tough it out.
I am flying Sun Country (first time flying another Airline - Delta) from Boston to Rapid City, SD on 6 July....did sought of a package deal for myself...Sun Country from Boston to Rapid City for only (baggage and all) for only $262.00 round trip then on 11 July I am flying Delta to Boston via Minneapolis for only 171.00......if not this trip would have cost me over a 1,000.00 dollars...so I am trying out Sun Country..........oh I got a $20.00 seat...front of plane...that was recommended by a friend...

I’ve flown on Sun Country lots of times. My most recent one was last summer, from MSP to LAX, and SNA back to MSP. On both flights I flew their “best seats”, and I’ll say, it wasn’t that bad. We were served with snacks and beverages, on the three hour flight. A beverage of our choice and a small bag of Dot’s Pretzels. Overall it wasn’t a bad flight.

Thank you for your flight trip report. I see you were on the airport tram to the concourse for Sun Country. Nice! I have always gotten off for the "B" concourse for United Airline. Denver International is a very nice airport!! There is a great Mexican restaurant/cafe there that is so nice in the lower number area in "B" concourse. Really nice.
Great video! My old IFR rating CFI is a captain at Sun Country now.
I like these sort of videos, but it would of been nice if you had a chance to video the entire plane seat config, especially the exit row to see what the legroom looks like.
We have a group of friends flying out of San Antonio in November to Las Vegas. We booked 8 of the “best seats”, first time for us using Sun Country. Being that the fare was 39. dollars before the up grade charges, we couldn’t turn it down . LOL So we’ll see how it goes.

This seat is LEAGUES AHEAD spirit and frontier. Even has recline and premium class have headrests
That's the same aircraft I flew from SFO-MSP. Found out it was an old Turkish Airlines plane and your tile floor matched that of my flight. Cool!

Sun Country Airlines is very similar to Southwest Airlines for colors and bodies.
Blue and orange paint are match with Southwest except Heart ❤️🧡💙💛

Nice report. I’ve never used SY but have often looked into it. I usually fly AS unless they’re not an option because I have a lot of money invested in them in many ways......flyer status, miles accrued, and personal stock investments.

I don't fly that often... but one thing would be nice about Sun is maybe more emails... I mean I get Spirit Emails deals atleast once a week.
Even though Sun Country has normal tray tables and IFE unlike their other ULCC competitors, they still don't seem to clean their planes as most other airlines do. I would fly frontier or any other ULCC over SY during a pandemic.

Something you should've mentioned and filmed--Sun Country and Southwest at MSP share a terminal well away from the Delta complex,across the field. Regarding your KFC meal,does that chain serve a full menu at airports? I see you got fries and chicken nuggets but the idea of you chowing down on a greasy Original recipe breast or drumstick would be messy and trying to handle your camera gear with greasy fingers---not so much! We hope that your expedition on that Dornier 328 will be uploaded in due time? Did you overnight in MSP?

dumb airline they forgot to add the gate number on the screen at dallas airport and missed my flight. the airport is so large that it was not easy to find help at all. they just want to offer $50 credit with that i cant get a fair to cancun.

That Engine sounds like Dawg Squeeze 😳🤔😐....I couldn't BELIEVE how Filthy Dirty it was 😳...No WONDER people get SO sick after being on a Passenger Jet!👎This is "why" I don't Fly anymore! I used to really enjoy it, also having been at the Controls for a few Flying lessons (Piper Warrior -6 Seater)...and just researching all the Plane Crashes and the fact that they are flown mostly by Computer 💻....and look at all the Hacking going on🤔Planes just up N falling outa the Sky at 29,000 ft.😳 Computer! I think 💬🤔....now, as of recent, 2 Passenger Jets going through such severe turbulence, that people are BADLY Injured😳🤔 Seriously?🤔😳...That's why I won't Fly....but I definitely wouldn't even step on to that Death Trap of a Plane....they can "keep it!"😁😉

Ive flown sun country many times from Duluth to bullhead city, az. Ive been in the seats with less room. Its not the most comfortable but it got me where I wanted to go. I would like to try out the best seats though.
