ABOUT DANNY
-----------------------
Thanks for stopping by. I created this website as a resource just for you to support you on your golfing journey as I know how tricky learning this game can be…to say the least!
I personally found learning the game too long and difficult in the early days. I read all the books, watched all the videos but my game was not improving. Then after studying various forms of neuro science, motor learning, psychology and personal development in less than two years I went from struggling golfer to the final stage of the Open Championship.
On TH-cam and my personal website (www.dannymaude.com) I will bring you the most up to date training, training that is getting tangible results for my clients right now. I don’t know where you are in your golfing journey, you could be just starting out or maybe your body isn’t as flexible as it once was or you’ve got ambitions to slash your handicap. Wherever you are I’ve created a place here you can learn, share your ideas, ask questions and get all the support you need to enjoy this great game.
Be prepared though. If its a quick fix you are after Im not your man. Here I will give you step-by-step advice that you can take straight to the practice ground and apply to the course but it will require you to get stuck in, screw up…a lot, practice some more and then watch those scores tumble
I’ve had the pleasure of coaching thousands of students all around the world and if you are up for the challenge and are ready to get in the game…LETS GO TO WORK!

This golf lesson provides a couple of wonderful drills to help you hit your driver straight. If you are a beginner golfer and are looking for some golf driver tips that are simple and easy to do then you are going to love this.
I will show you the golf swing slow motion so that you can see what you need to do to improve.
We look at 3 things:
1. How to stop slicing your driver
2. How to swing more in to out or how to swing more inside out
3, How to get the correct impact position with driver
and I hope to do all this with simple golf tips so you can create an effortless golf swing
Man, Danny! I played the other day and used alot of your tips. My chipping is so much better, my driving is getting good distance, I feel more comfortable in my swing! Thank you good sir!!!
awesome to hear
I literally went out after watching this video. I hit 40 balls with dropping the club!! It's true that it was my problem . Back on track Danny thx so much
@robfortunato1349 that’s what I like to hear. Well done 👏
This is a very timely video for me Danny..I've dropped from 22 to 15 since January after 25 plus years of playing golf. The only thing holding me back from going any lower is my chipping it kills me every game. Like the gentleman in your video I can now see I don't swing long enough and am too short and jerry. Thanks as always and have a great weekend
You are very welcome Jullian
The clarity of this chipping method is just terrific. Get the set up right is my takeaway. 🙏 Danny.
So important John
Clear and simple differences between the different types of chip shots, thanks Danny!
You are very welcome Ray
Hi Danny, You are a master at teaching golfers. Its not an easy game to play and the feeling when you hit a good shot is gold.
It really is Matt
Great reminder thanks! ive been struggling lately since i got a new 60z wedge and insist 2 use it all the time, open, closing, pulling of "trickshots" lol, and its so unnecessary! have a new 56s on my way i the mail and going back 2 these more simple "put shots". Also thanks for the putting video u made earlier, really helped. that 1 2 3 4 counting technique where u look at the hole, look back than 1 2 hit it, really made a good and consistent routine with same tempo every time..Cheers and have a good day Dan the Man☺
Really great to hear, enjoy your weekend
It’s taken me awhile to learn the techniques you taught in this short video. I was fortunate enough to see the bunker shot video and took it to the course yesterday. The first bunker i landed in was the 2nd hole a par 3. Tee shot caught the left bunker. I put the lesson to use ball forward, hands low, maintain angle on wrists keeping low and swing with body. Strike the sand just behind the ball and out the ball came within inches of the hole. Tap in par. What a great tip. By the way I use the techniques you teach in this video in chipping. I previously would not even think of using a wedge around the green because of fat shots, blading, etc. I now try to hole the shots especially just on the fringe. You’re a top notch coach.
Thank you Ron! Appreciate the support 😁
Your vids have helped me so much. Im currently working very hard on chipping. Im the guy that always ends up either infront, to the sides or back of the green. Being able to hit a more proper chip shot helps so much. Thanks for all the advice.
You are very welcome
Your chipping advice has changed my game. I have finally broken 90 pretty regularly! All thanks to a much improved short game.
@@TMcD3 really happy to help
THANK YOU FOR AN EXCELLENT, VERY HELPFUL, EASY TO FOLLOW GUIDE ON CHIPPING.
THE PRACTICE PLAN WAS FANTASTIC.
@alangoudie2299 thank you so much for your lovely comment. It really does mean a lot. So glad you have enjoyed my video. Enjoy practicing 🙏🏻
Since I started watching you, I have increased my driver distance by 25 yards, hitting my irons more consistently and lower my handicap by two strokes. With this video I hope to improve my chipping accuracy. Thanks for your instruction!!
Love to hear how you get on Perry
This is phenomenal! I’ve used your philosophy of “putting with loft” but I was missing something. So, thank you for this video as I will refer back to this often as I get more confident in chopping near the green with different lies.
Glad it was helpful! Love to hear how you get on Brad
Thank you for the wonderful tips! I have been struggling around the greens lately. I need to put these tips into practice! Always great advice from you!
@@brucevanwyk3257 really kind Bruce
Greetings from Canada 🇨🇦. I used your chipping techniques this past Wednesday and they worked out great. Thanks so much. Now I’m moving on your towel drill to get more club head speed and hopefully more yardage off the tee. Keep up the good work !
@paulchristie9170 that’s great. Well done. Thank you so much for watching. Enjoy practicing. Let me know how you get on 🙏🏻
My chipping has improved dramatically with the genius of previous lessons. This will help solidify the process. Set up is everything. I'm finding that the shaft lean and the weight on lead foot is the key. Choke down a bit and putt with a little bit of a fish tail motion in the wrist and it works every time.
This is a great lesson to add to that.
Chocking down a little bit is a great idea
Love the student lesson at the end! So rewarding to see the smile on both your faces after the lesson “clicks” for him. Awesome video as always! I’ve always had difficulty thinning my chips, and this will help tremendously. Thanks Danny!
@RobBauerTech thank you so much. Enjoy practicing. Let me know how you get on 🙏🏻
Back from holiday to a little gem of a vlog. Simple but highly effective
Hope you had a good holiday Stuey
@@DanielMaude I did. Ibiza. Have you ever played at Golf Ibiza? Went past there on the way to our resort. Checked out their website and it looks nice.
Funny how so often your videos are exactly what I’m currently working on. Just practiced my short chips yesterday and this video will help so much more for practicing today. Thanks as always Danny!
@goravens18 thank you so much for watching. Glad you enjoyed it. Enjoy your practicing. Let me know how you get on 🙏🏻
@@DanielMaude Sunday (day 3) at range short game area significantly better. Day 2 used a field nearby to chip a single ball around and around, easier lie given grass height. Thanks so much Danny!
Totally understand. I sometimes feel badly for them. Keep up the great work. Ilan.
This one covers it all! Thank you, Danny. Already shared it with my league team and is working for me as well. Cheers.
@RohitModwel that’s fantastic. Thank you so much. 🙏🏻
Enjoyed this!! Lots of little nuggets which will help me.
Hi Danny, I personally find keeping my right knee facing towards my left leg during the swing vastly improves the chipping technique.
Thanks for sharing 👍
Your stuff is outstanding Danny. I bet you are an amazing coach.
Thanks for the support and feedback Joseph
Okay. I wrote this down in my phone Notes for when I play today. My chipping game has been sketchy at best and more frustrating than satisfying! Let's rock it! Thanks!
@guibox3 you are most welcome. Please keep me updated on how you get on 🙏🏻
I am love your lessons. I’m still struggling with wrist movements….and looking up too soon.
You make the best videos....Well done Danny!!
Really kind of you to feedback thank you
Keep it up…. We’re all very proud of your work
Really kind thank you
Did you see me play yesterday? Next to green in 2 then another 4 to get down - all because my chipping was so bad (ok the greens were very dry and fast and fringe quite long so chip distance was a key point but it destroyed my confidence) so I wanted to look for inspiration to get my confidence back. Perfect timing video Danny - Keep It Simple Stupid for me, chip like a putt and let the club do the work. Just need a bit of practice.
Absolutely, keep it simple
Excellent and clearly explained chipping lesson. No 1 guy on utube 👌
@regsnowling9169 thank you so much. Your comment really does mean a lot 🙏🏻
best instructor of the world, Kudos from LAOS
Thanks so much for the support
Been doing this for a while Danny, once you believe it absolutely works. Just have to go for it. Great video and your students smile says it all
@loutennant99 that’s great. Thank you for watching 🙏🏻
..:further to my comment a while ago…I’ve kept it simple stupid and my ball striking is pure, crisp and my confidence is back. Big thanks
Wonderful to hear Chris
Thanks, Danny! Great tips. Love the putting with loft concept.
@GolferPerformance thank you so much. Glad you enjoyed it 🙏🏻
Thanks Danny. Invaluable chipping lesson!

This what I really need, I keep watching to enforce the message.
Love to hear how it goes Terry
Hi Danny
The chipping is definitely getting better. I have had a couple of good results in the last couple of weeks. Steady all round improvement, but still could do with some help.

Love this, been struggling around the greens
Really happy to help
Very helpful to have one technique that works for most circumstances - excellent !
Danny, unrelated but in all the time I've watched your channel, I've not seen anything on Shank shots both outside in and (for me) in to out !
Can you consider this please ?
Very well explained lesson, Thank-you very much
Thank you! Appreciate the support 👍
Great Video, thanks Danny.
Glad you enjoyed it Russ
My chipping has been horendous i may make 1 in 10 up and downs at best .implimented this today . Game changer . Made 8 of 13 by using this technique .
Wonderful to hear Darryl
Lovely. I learn something new with every video.
@austino65 thank you so much for your comment. Really pleased you are enjoying my videos 🙏🏻
This is i tune into this channel ❤ enough said !!!
Happy to help Phil 😁
Excellent video Danny. Could you do a video on putting faults? I have started to bounce my long putts which makes them very inconsistent.
Great suggestion David
Thanks for this lesson Danny! It seems that I get at least one or two chunks a round with my chipping. In watching this video, it appears that I have to pay more attention to the sole of the club! Well Done Danny!
@johnschwartz1536 thank you for watching. Enjoy practicing 👍🏻
Thanks, Danny. My game this week was compromised by my poor chipping techniques if you will. I could have dropped more than 6 strokes had they been better. I believe these tips will help.
@Nitrox4me thanks for watching Enjoy practicing. Let me know how you get on 🙏🏻
You’re a legend Danny Maude
Thanks for the support Christian

I keep going back to this one.
You can do it Terry
My guy.. great lesson Danny!!
@mikec5249 thank you so much 🙏🏻
Superb instruction, just one question what distance was your client chipping from so I can get an idea of swing length back for that distance and adjust from there . thank you
About 20 yards
Great lesson. Thank you soooooo much
@davidmckean6114 thank you. Glad you enjoyed it 👍🏻
How far was that chip Danny? I struggle with these but you make it seem so clear. I will be on the range practicing these chips in the morning
Hey Danny Great Instructional video on chipping...!
Danny I wanted to ask you a quick Question. Danny how far did you have the Golf Bag to Chip over with Carlos ?? Was it 6 feet away , 8 feet away 10 feet away ...??
Thank you in advance.
Steve M.
I'd love a lesson or 2 from you I'm a 31 handycape so it would be a good challenge for you to see if I improve lol I have learnt a lot from your videos as I have never had a lesson
Dan, I struggle with bunker shots, so you have lessons on that?

I’m using that exact same Callaway stand bag. Hasn’t held up great so in the market for a replacement.
Hey Danny I’m a new subscriber and a member to your site. As a beginner my highest lofted club is a 49 degree gap wedge. What wedges would you recommend a 52 and 56?
I would certainly get your hands on a 56 degree wedge
@@DanielMaude okay thanks. Is that the club I would use around the green? Should I get a 52 as well or just a 56?
@@jonmchugh5784 I would stick with just 56 for now
@@DanielMaude okay thanks danny for the quick reply I almost got a 52 snd 56.
Well done Danny im struggling to green read at minute 😊
Thank you Roy!
Hi! Can you make video about different lies and wedge bounces?
Absolutely
Thank you, Danny.
So what is the difference between Shot #3 where you add wrist bending and Shot #1? Use #3 when you need more height to the ball trajectory? Would you use #3 technique for your #1 shot or would that go too far?
One and two are nice and easy. Number 3 you use when the lie isn’t as good. You can use number 3 any where it just a little trickier to master compared to the first two
What would be your number one routine for pre stroke for consistency on every shot?70 yrs. Young, bogey golfer,(4 up,4 down)a few shots in a round WTF!mind set,arm placement, breathing ,relax all boxes checked. Thanks
Great video
Glad you enjoyed it
Great stuff Danny. I just need more discipline.
You can do it Twrry
Do you have private online lessons? if so how can I sign up? I Can't find any information on that topic.
Now Danny help with my putting it's aweful.
Its so hard to fight the urge to force the club head into the ball like he was doing …for me its trying to guide the club through ,then think i need to speed it up ,which causes the rigidness looking swing…. Great refresher ,going to be saved lesson file 😬👍🏼✌️
@vicpnut1 thanks for watching. Enjoy practicing 👍🏻
I just wish you were in Ontario because I’d be hiring you for some lessons
Thank you Terry
Mr M, Can you help with the 3,4 or 5 blow up holes I keep having. Double and triple bogeys. Play 12 or 13 consistent holes, then an errant shot turns up. Could be a tee shot, 2nd or 3rd into a green or even a putt.
Ray
Could it be concentration?
Just saw Justin Rose hit the same shot on number 13 at royal troon as I was watching your youtube . perfect leave about 4 feet. There's your proof!
@ssparko 👏 thank you so much for watching 🙏🏻
I've have quite good distance and flight control. However, I tend to pull my wedges often. What is fix?😊
My chipping is changing my game as it’s improving. My problem is I create back spin on these strokes which stops them short especially with a 9 iron. Anything obvious I’ve got wrong?
Should one focus on chipping or pitching? Is one easier or better than the other. I know keeping it on the ground there is less room for mistakes .
Also, your pitching lesson from 6 yrs ago really helped me!! Thank you for all you do! You're so good at it!
@danielmaude I love the chipping lesson, but you are chipping off the short grass in front of the green. How about teaching how to chip out of the thick grass from behind a green side bunker- that’s where us high handicappers live!
I’ve got Lots of short game videos on the channel that cover this 👍
Great video! Spanish hands.
Thank you Terry 😁
How I get the practice plan attached
Thank you
@willmallory9085 you are most welcome 🙏🏻
Another question, sorry i didn't ask in first message. Which do you prefer chip or pitch?
Hope your Dad is doing well!
Thx Danny worst part of my gane is chipping except for putting lol
Happy to help Rob!
My toughest chip shot is buried in the rough on a downhill slope with little green to work with. I've never seen this shot addressed.
Aren'tvthe heavy rough short sided shots really a pitch shot ???
👍
you said bring it closer as u backed away further. ??
Which shot are you referring to Matt
I can't find the practice guide
In the description box below the video
The hardest part to actually teach is the nice smooth confident flowing swing. Once jerkiness appears its extremely difficult to remove.,thats why many poor chippers never really get any better im afraid. Ive suffered for over 50 years and ruin 99% of my rounds and still played of high single figures for most of it.1 or 2 up & downs. out of 10 is my normal. A brilliant day is 5/10😢
Hi Eric, did you know that most jerkiness is caused because of an impulse to strike the ball.
This is often because you are out of position at the top of your swing and your body is reacting to try and make solid contract
Great set up and then a trust that you will strike it without the need for any manipulation will naturally remove the jerkiness
Dan, I’ve been following you for years and would to suggest something you’ve been doing for awhile that may put your students at unease. STOP asking them, it makes them nervous, as if they’re under a test. Give them instructions and at the end ask them if they understood and/or if they have any questions. Even when you’re teaching your dad, he gets nervous at your questions. No one wants to get them wrong.
No fear send it.
Danny is a coach, coaches ask questions to lead the student to the answer themselves, instructing is telling, do x y or z which the student will do without much understanding or retention either. I’m a driver trainer and thats how I try to coach my subject. Also you have to work out the learning style of the student which I suspect is what Danny will have done off camera
I agree. I would find that uncomfortable - I’d be worried about saying the wrong thing and feeling stupid. I love Danny’s videos but that’s the one thing that would bug me. He can take a different approach - instead of asking “how else can you increase distance?” He could say “and what happens if you reduce the loft slightly?” Or eliminate the question entirely with “try reducing the loft slightly and see what happens”
Thanks for the feedback, I put them at ease at the start of the lesson by letting them know I’m going to ask them questions.
It’s important they take ownership of their own learning and associate with the feelings, images and sounds they are getting from the drills we work on.
They know the environment is safe and there are no wrong answers
So both of you aren’t confident in comprehension testing? Asking questions is a check point to see if they actually understand and how much they understand at that point if maybe the coach might need to take a step back. Getting someone to verbally acknowledge certain check points is fine, life is a lot tougher than a coach giving you “test questions”.
