I am one of those few guys who genuinely believe that Mikasa is a good character in this story. Not as complex as some other characters but still a well written one. However, that doesn't mean I don't have any criticism related to her. My primary criticism: She remains confined to her role as the fighter in the team and never plays any "active" role in the story. Roles which could have helped in showcasing different aspects of her personality which don't receive much attention.
