    The best synth "is the one you own". There all so powerful these days. I have a MODX7 --i just wish i was younger and had more time to experiment

    Great performance and now I learned (after 3 years) that there is a mute/solo popup screen in the sequencer. I had never seen this before. Thanks !

    Fantastic tune. I recently purchased the MODX6. I love it so much I returned the Fantom O. Your video "My new synth - EDM" showing the MODX with the Fantom O is what convinced me!

      Thank you for watching and sharing your experience - I may get the Fantom 0 one day to try it myself but so far I am becoming more pessimistic about it reading all the comments on my videos... Thank you!!!

      Roland refuses to implement the possibility of real-time transposition of the pattern assigned to the left hand, moreover, it does not support accompaniment with chords in real time, just like Montage and MODX.
      This makes people reject Fantom and turn to Yamaha!
      These powerful synthesizers created by Roland, should be optimized to be able to create an accompaniment with transposition and chord recognition in real time, just like Yamaha!

    You know what would be cool? To have the first part of your video performing the music and then follow up by showing us how you created it, the decisions you made and the reason for your choices. Your stuff is good and we could learn from you.

    This is great. I'm currently tearing my hair out trying to choose between a korg krome, modx or Roland FA. This proves the modx has the chops for EDM more so than any other track I've heard.

    • @amateurmusicstudio
      @amateurmusicstudio  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi there. Thank you for your comment. If I may I would share my thoughts on this. I have had Korg Krome when it just came out and it lasted only few weeks. I used to owe Korg Karma that was brilliant. I was disappointed in everything: keybed felt cheap, sound quality was poor especially piano sounded plasticky etc. It was uninspiring to play too. So, I returned it back shortly after buying. I have had the Yamaha MX49 at the time and I have preferred that much more. As to the Roland Fantom 0 - I really want to try it out myself. It has a much easier workflow and a much user friendlier interface but it achieves it by having less options than MODX. Also, when it comes to real instruments - MODX is a clear winner. I would suggest to try MODX and Fantom 0 first if you have a chance but do not bother with Krome. This is purely my personal opinion. I hope it helps. Please let me know if you have any other questions.Thank you!

      @@amateurmusicstudio Thanks, it absolutely does help, this will be my first purcahse in decades so in some respect I really really have to get it right, but having said that Synths have come along so much I'll probably end up being happy with whatever I get. MODX definitely a winner at the moment. I like the idea of mixing in natural sounds as well. The online content is really appreciated.

      I have the FA, Sequencing is very linear and not able to do what the MODX can do. I just returned my Fantom O. It was a nice board but sounds and Arps were not that great! Hope that helps.

    • @TheNutscape
      @TheNutscape 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@manofsound9098 thanks for the input, I ended up going for the ModX my first synth in years, as soon as I ordered I had buyers regret but now it's here I love it, the sequencing is simple enough (it has to be for me). I'm thinking of getting the xv 5050 plug in just for some old Roland sounds as my compromise for not getting a Fantom..

    Very nice. I could follow and see what you were doing quite well. My only suggestion would be to alter the rhythm pattern to create some last-bar fills, and attach those to perhaps scenes 5-8, to give your transitions a bit more variety beyond filter sweeps.

    • @amateurmusicstudio
      @amateurmusicstudio  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you so much for your comment. It is on my list of things to do but I am very short on time now days with work. I will try to get that done very soon. Also, thank you for your suggestion. The issue I have had is that MODX does not work the same way as MOTIF and I am still learning it. On the Motif I could record one patter say 2 bars and the next part would be 8 bars and it would work fine. I did not realise it is not the case with MODX and hence the poor performance arrangement. I was trying to add fills by copying and modifying existing patterns but quickly realise it would not work. It was too late to re-do everything. I do have plans to convert all of that to stored patterns so I could play it live with changing chords - it would be interesting to see how that would come up. I will try to keep posting new videos.... Thank you!!!

      Thanks, no necessary… What was the reason to leave and sell the modx?

    • @amateurmusicstudio
      @amateurmusicstudio  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@pavelvavra4414 Well, I have been Yamaha user for over 20 years and sold my MODX since it was far too different with a very steep learning curve. Also, the sounds in MODX were difficult to work with - each sound is good on its own but mixing a few elements together presented interesting challenges that were more obvious than in previous models I have used. Roland Fantom 06 (that replaced MODX) is a completely different story - easy to understand, perfect workflow (for me), and the sounds - I would suggest these are proper EDM sounds...

    I have a Modx6' that I bought a year ago, I could never get my head around the menus, it's been back in its box most of the time just like new.
    I'd love you to make some tutorials on how you did this, so I can partner my modx up with my fantom 06.

    • @seanogrady2870
      @seanogrady2870 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      well, sunshine, if it's back in its box you have wasted your $$$ & you will never master this great synth. Like anything new, you must play with it a lot(the keyboard that is L.O.L.) i HAVE 4 KEYS & ONE BEING A MODX7 YOU NEVER STOP LEARNING. GET ON WITH IT BLOKE!!

      @Neepz71 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@seanogrady2870 I'm on it mate, it's been out and breathing the last week or so, I'm getting more used to how it ticks.

    • @Info-Ark

      Please don't punish yourself to much.. just learn small bits at a time and focus on the parts of the synth that your interested in. I have the same problem ... 2x alesis Fusion, modx7 and moxf6... Never enough time and to actually do some composing too.. if only I had chosen the Tambourine wouldnt life be easy.
