The Master artist who influenced me the most to feel the blues and just take the guitar and FEEEL it! You Mr. Clapton are the one and only and for me the best guitarist ever.!!! Just want to add, after listening to this many times, that Mr. Clapton is also the best blues singer that I have ever heard singing, Clearly R. Jonson had a great influence on his playing but such talent is so rare in this world so I can proudly say that Mr. Clapton is my only and greatest guitarist and blues singer in the world, ever!
Clapton like so many rock musicians of the 60's had a deep appreciation for the blues and built on those older songs to create the early hard rock such as with Crossroads, a Robert Johnson acoustic song from 1936. The Winterland live Cream recording is the defining masterpiece of this process. I Can't Quit You Babe by Willie Dixon was amped up by LZ in the same way. What's interesting with Clapton is that he still honored those early blues players with authentic performances of songs like Malted Milk, Walkin Bues or this outstanding performance of Drifting Blues, a Charles Brown song. Besides the soulful rendition here fingerpicked on an acoustic guitar like the old masters, his constant stream of old blues licks and Clapton style variations is just spectacular. This one song showcases his decades of development as a blues player and its just stunning. I have been playing guitar for over 60 years and this performance is humbling. Pure genius.
Eric and Peter Green. There was always a rival between Eric and Green. Although Green looked up to Eric, there were equals and pushing the same style and techniques. Of course this is the 60's. But I was happy to see Clapton pay tribute to the late great Peter Green. His equal. I'm glad I lived at the time to experience them. If not for Clapton, I wouldn't have discovered American blues and I wouldn't have picked up the guitar.
For example... He taught me to listen to the Blues... Listen to Black Musicians... He taught me.. To appreciate respect and love BLACK musicians (I am a white 58j.old old Rock musician)... like Muddy Waters B. B. King.. Buddy Guy.. Chuck Berr
I wish all the people who believe that big bought sounds played with lots of speed is top notch guitar could hear and understand how incredible this kind of playing is.
@@crasherxtreme I think I've heard Clapton do an electric version but I can't say for sure. I've heard several others do very good electric versions but Luther Allison's electric version is one of my favorites.
Hmmm? Well 1st off Can anyone tell me where this was filmed? The upper caption shows it was June 22nd 2021. I could only find that Eric was suppose to play a show in Moscow on that date but it was postponed due to the pandemic. I have been a big fan my whole life starting back in 1968. Watching Eric now is “Like good wine, he just keeps getting better with age". For the longest time in his early years, I could not understand when Eric would quit band after band because they were getting to "pop" sounding to him...he wanted to just play the blue's. well now I can certainly see why. BTW for you young guitar players out there...you will not find a lesson on Eric's style of finger picking anywhere...that is all just Eric and something that has evolved after playing the guitar for endless hours over the years. People have wondered " how and what would Jimi Hendrix be playing today if he were still alive? IMO- Jimi would be playing the Blues with an acoustic guitar just like Eric. Even for Jimi it all just came down to the Blue's.

It's not just his virtuosity it's the feelings in the NOTES he plays!

What an incredible musician. He plays with a fluidity of mercury and the touch of a mythical God. Pure genius.
Eric will always be my hero. Infinite love and regards to my man!
I just love his voice. So much soul. And of course the guitar playing is as good as it can be.
Yes This sound of Eric Clapton i love so much thanks mr Eric :-)
Eric is smooth man…
My man is basically soap
I love this blues so much
Grande e sempre meraviglioso artista... Affascinante anche da osservare semplicemente. Le mani più eleganti del mondo.
As always… a masterful performance of acoustic blues. Great dynamics, rhythm and percussion lifting the strings to vibrate on the frets…
Enorme ,genial Dios bajo a la tierra y creo a Eric Clapton ❤
Thank you Eric

Where did you get an idea they were rivals?
Thank You, Eric, for this great song and camera view. And, thank you speakpipe vn, for getting this out there.
Nobody covers these classic like Clapton.

Buenos días. El Maestro Don Eric Clapton. Un Genio de la Música. Esas manos en una guitarra es puro arte. Un Grandísimo Mito.
One of my top 10 musicians.

my hero too a genious!
An awesome acoustic version of this classic!
I've only ever heard this played acoustically. Usually there are several acoustic guitar players that accompany him. Or at least one for this number

I could give this to the first years of guitar playing, It's simple and effective. But thye would ask me who Eric Clapton is?lol
Today I listened to the same music but it hit my ear differently. Chords sounded like church chimes. His touch is so true. Amazing Eric Clapton! ❤😊
Good Blues guitar
Wrong Text for all
of US, but I enjoy
the good music
Watching Eric play the guitar is like watching Federer play tennis.
This is better sorry

Love that guitar. Does anyone know what kind of guitar it is? Could not get a focused view of the head stock.
It’s a Martin Guitar
I'm guessing it's a Martin custom shop 00-28.
Eric Clapton

Does anybody know what Guitar brand Eric is playing ?
He normally plays Martin acoustic guitars, & this looks like one - from their custom varieties.

Ted Nugent and Eric Clampton. Godz Make America Great Again!
We need more patriots that live by this moto
But he is from GB
