If by skins they mean armors, I hope I don't have to fight through the power plant with a stinky badit jacket because I didnt buy something better with real money
You act like story/quest DLCs are something totally unheard of and completely unacceptable meanwhile games like Fallout and Skyrim have great story DLCs.
The S.T.A.L.K.E.R. saga is not a Call of Duty, nor a Fallout, nor a Metro, nor is it a Tarcov, it has its own identity, its own setting, its A-Life that makes it unique, it may have flaws and errors, but as fans we will love it. And this message must be clear to new and veterans who have forgotten what Stalker is, even influenced by mods such as anomaly.
We don't know that tho. As a fan, I don't know that. What is that "we will love it" attitude? No, if it has too many flaws we will not love it. The original titles were unique, good and basically, much better Metro before Metro. Far from perfect, but an amazing experience. I will talk about the things I don't like about Stalker 2 just like I do with CS, because I love the franchise and I want it to be better. Locking down content behind a pay wall before launch is not okay.
This is what is called the cult mentality, if it bears that name you have to love it right! Absolutely not, if its bad you dont't have to love it just because it has a title. Best example is Fallout, the newer "Fallout" games has almost nothing in common with the original games only New Vegas is like them. Bethesda never understud Fallout thus they never made good Fallout games and only bethesda fans praise them while Fallout fans don't like them. Same thing here, I hope STALKER 2 will be a faitfull sequel, everything looks like it will be the case especialy because the original creator makes it but still it can turn out to be bad! We will see, I hope for the best!
@@ncrranger2281 the thing is, Bethesda doesn't care about understanding Fallout. They are not interested in that. What happened to Fallout franchise, also happened to the Elder Scrolls franchise. Morrowind was the best TES game, then Oblivion came and it was extremely dumbed down. And then you had Skyrim which has nothing to do with TES.
Same. While I am a huge fan of stalker, It's at the moment the most controversial game in terms of its quality on release. We've seen a lot of big AAA titles flop, be it optimization, quality or just monetization. Stalker is being developed midst war, by a rather unrecognized team, and it aims for a game more ambitious than some big AAA game companies... so yeah preordering this, as heartbreaking as it is, is very, VERY risky...
By making a pre-order you do not lose anything. If the game is delayed, you can return the money at any time. If you are not satisfied with the quality of the game, then on steam it is also possible to return the money before you have played for several hours. And if your currency on steam is not euro/dollar, then there is a chance that the price will rise later In this case, pre-ordering saves money
Exactly. 3 stalker games are my no1 on my list and since they got released ive never uninstalled them. Thats how big of a fan i am and still i wont preorder. Remember. NEVER PREORDER.
The biggest problem the game has is its community, you are not allowed to critic this game what so ever without some sweatty ass dude having a breakdown over it
When I criticized the prices and locking content behind a paywall and compared GSC doing that to Ubisoft and EA, S.T.A.L.K.E.R Reddit crucified me for it and called me entitled. When I then compared the clear greed on display to being the EXACT reason 4A and Metro 2033 existing, people called me a nitpicker. Yeah I'm sorry but 110$ for the bare minimum of what's expected for a game in 2024 is a scam. I don't understand why EA and Ubisoft get rightfully bashed for this but people give GSC a pass. And yes I understand there was a war. I feel empathy there but seeing GSC talk about that and then hiking prices up on each edition leaves a sour taste in my mouth GSC knows fans will buy S.T.A.L.K.E.R 2 regardless so why the "editions"? That's practically taking advantage of fans lol
There's a 90% chance my pre-order will be canceled. Not just the downgrades, but the talks of streamlining for the modern audience as well. The recently-released trilogy and continuously fixing the bugs as well as the current gen update that is coming makes me satisfied with what I have even if it is a letdown. If they include the mod support like they are saying then it's a pick up for sure because I can add anything that's missing. My biggest concern is if they're going to deliver on the hyper-realistic AI it's supposedly going to have.
@Particle_Ghost it's kinda interesting I feel like currently they could be heading in a good direction despite some faults I guess on the 12th or 14th I forget which we are getting the developer deep dive that might answer some questions for us. I am currently optimistic.
@@myles5276 I've decided to keep my pre-order but I will watch the reviews when it comes out day one. I recently replayed the entire Trilogy without mods, it's ridiculous to see that AI has not improved in over two decades because the game still has better AI than most games today. Supposedly this game is supposed to have really good AI, that's the main thing I'm going to be looking for, that and a great environment. Bugs can always be patched.
@Particle_Ghost yea that's the sensible approach I just got the trilogy on console for fun's sake. I played the rest on my pc years ago. I used to play misery a lot and have enjoyed watching folks play gamma mod and the op 2.2 soup mod. Unfortunately since they neutered the modding on console I doubt I will be able to try them. So I will play the og games and bide my time for more info.
@@myles5276 I'm still pissed about their decision with mods, I was told Sony ruined the entire thing. Sony apparently complained and wanted the mods to be fair on both communities, and since Sony don't allow external assets they said they wouldn't allow the game on the platform. You can't mod Series X version like you could Fallout 4 and Skyrim.
@@Particle_Ghost yea I heard that to. I am the outlier which plays better with a controller and I don't have a PC anymore so no mods for me. Some Chad made a graphical mod that ported the spooky atmosphere textures and skins from misery but that's about it. I can't wait to dig into the og trilogy. Only after I finish my run on chernobalyte because I need to clear my backlog.
It is a pretty common practice for games to have single-player content that is originally a pre-order bonus, which becomes widely available later on in some form (free update, DLC, special bundle, etc.) There's plenty of examples I could point to where this has happened, but the main one I like going to is New Vegas with Courier's Stash, where Obsidian combined a bunch of pre-order packs into a single DLC. My theory is GSC will most likely end up taking this approach, but we'll see after the game releases.
I did not know that. I didn't play New Vegas till 2015 so it was already there. Always did wonder about that. Still I disagree with it because it's a quest. Hopefully it is availible for everyone at some point.
@@BrokenCircle1 Nothing makes it right when entertainments are dictated by investors on the market and not by gamer. We just gotta make-do with what we have. Everytime studios try to be consumer friendly, there's always gotta be the catch... look at Helldivers 2. You just can't win at this point, winning something is a false victory. With me it's simple, I don't pre-order and I crack games if possible, if not then look for discounts in the future.
CoP allows you to have freeplay, not after the ending, when the helicopters are about take off you are given a choice: Get in the helicopter and end the game, Or Stay in the Zone and end the game later, if this option is chosen the helicopters will take off without you and you will be left alone, when you come back to the Lavandry you will meet Gary and Loners who have taken the place of the Military in Pripyat, you will be able to visit almost (aside X-8) every part of the game and complete your quests, then talk back to Gary so you can evacuate and end the game. I don't know if STALKER 2 will actually have freeplay, i doubt due to plot reasons, but we'd definitely get the chance to mod it into freeplay or have a stystem kind of like in CoP where you also get warned that is the ending of the game.
8:13 shadow of chernobyl allows you to go any area after you have gotten the true ending And finished all the sides quest you may have missed And call for pripyat gives you the option to stay in the zone and go more or less anywhere and also finish any sides quest you may have missed So if two out of the three original games allow you to do that i don't see why stalker 2 would not unless for example that ending you got
I'll just do what I always do - wait for a bug free gold edition on a 50% to 75% steam discount. Last broken game I've got on launch is dayz standalone. Since then I've learned my lesson well.
Honestly this yet for fighting games I do pre-order they'll have horrendous online play at launch yet I'm a professional player so offline my main concern which is bug-free always
I checked both their page and steam page, from what I saw, only the ultimate edition gives you the extra stories. It probably doesn't matter if you pre-order it or not, however it still is disheartening to me for them to lock story expansions behind a paywall of $110.
@@BrokenCircle1 it doesn't help us console guys aren't able to get the pre order bonuses etc, I mean I won't probably buy it since supposedly gamepass is gonna make it a day one . So yeah
Yea also sounds to me the extra quest is part of the Deluxe Upgrade and not a pre Order Bonus Meaning it is most likely you will be able to get the rest in an Upgrade/season pass
I did a video with these concerns a bit more than a year ago but you just says it better and your videos are so high quality. 😄 The production-value of your video is soo good. Keep it up :)
you don't need to preorder to have the additional quest! if you preorder you only get campfire content, weapon skin, armor skin, MP badge and that's it. but I do agree that locking a quest behind editions is a bad thing. hope they get rid of that, I preordered long ago just because the game will have 2 expansions but I would love to make that quest available for everyone.
Thanks for watching. Yeah sadly alot of people lack control over their emptions so they let hype take over and get angry at anyone who says anything else.
Thank you for letting me know about the locked quest, that's definietly not good. It's singleplayer content being paywalled from the game. Still not fair. I bought the legends of the zone edition and I have the PC versions of the first 3 games. Might jsut stick with thsoe and mod those until this goes on sale one day.
My problem is not only that they are locking down content behind a pay wall, but also, if you want to pay to play that content then you have a version that offers too little for me to care about something more than the base game, specially when I don't even know if I'll like it, and the other one is too expensive for what it offers. The Ultimate Edition is way too expensive. I have my pre-order, but that doesn't mean I'm sold. I can get a refund after the game comes out, after seeing reviews and after playing it for a maximum of two hours.
got into stalker a few months ago only to be put off Stalker 2 by its locked quests and making it feel more arcadey. The xbx showcase trailer was something I enjoyed but the gunfights and action felt really arcadey. I'll stick with anomaly and gamma and see how the game is when it comes out
To there credit they did publicly state they tuned the ai settings to low for the trailer which is an odd choice but who knows. Here's hoping I can find someone completing a gamma invictus run before the new game comes out.
How many cutscene there is in stalker trilogy compare with stalker 2? Will they lock you out from some part of area because you don’t had the items to help you progress? I hope when they say open world is literally open world not quest lock away area
Love it how we live in times where deves lock ,,additional content" before even realising the game. So it tells me only one thing they make a full game cut 10% of it another 10% here and there and puff guys here is your DLC for 39.99$ LMAO
That was kind of the point haha. I mean they LOOK exactly as they were. As for functionality...well the originals were really buggy so let's hope for the best.
@@BrokenCircle1 yea that could just be part of the engine being held together by hopes and prayers, also i like how you didn't even comment on the season pass being avalible for 110 bucks lel
@@TSK_SilverWait WHAT? Oh you mean the ultimate mega edition or whatever? I mean that by itself isn't *that* bad. I think it comes with the DLC and the base game so not terrible. What bothered me more was the question content locked behind pre ordering the special edition.
@@BrokenCircle1 yea, you don't only get the season pass but you can only get it through for the mega super stalker pre order bundle, for now atleast im wondering if the costumes are just cosmetic like a secondary suit or something
If I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt, I think the costumes will be just that. Costumes, not armor. And while the exclusive quest thing is 100% a foot in the wrong direction, I can't imagine they would lock anything actually significant behind a paywall like that. I'm hoping it'll just be a little easter egg type quest, maybe you get some device that speeds up progress in some small way. Either way, as long as the game is stable/functional, I'm excited to finally be able to play this relatively soon
Exactly, I don’t think the quest is going to be this insane thing everyone seems to be making it out to be. It is wrong to lock the quest behind the paywall (if it truly is locked and not just a timed release), but I’m not going to get my titties twisted over a side quest everyone is probably going to forget about an hour after completing it. I won’t cast harsh judgement until after we see for sure, but I pre ordered it what the hell. I haven’t bought a game since the stalker trilogy dropped on console, and I really enjoyed my time on all 3 games. I’m not one to pre order anymore and I am taking a gamble here, but I have faith and hope that it’ll pay off. And if not, I just lived and learned and know not to trust this company anymore
I'll take your word for it with S.T.A.L.K.E.R 2, but Gears of War E-Day looks very promising to me. As for Perfect Dark, avoid that one at all costs, Joanna Dark looks more like Jack Dark Jr.
Thanks for watching! I don't knownthe intricate details about those so I cannot pass judgement in any direction there. I hope they all turn out to be good games though.
@@BrokenCircle1 I know Perfect Dark will only pass because of brownie points,. That's besides the point, it's inserting real world politics into video games.
@NoradNoxtus Only the silly Anomaly kids who never played OG Stalker expect that and if it dissapoints them so much they leave the community I say good. They're ruining things.
I might be the odd one out but a bit of that eurojank legacy shining through with some hilarious bugs upon release would be really nostalgic. My family is from Belarus and I was raised in a bilingual household, Call of Pripyat was the first video game I ever played set in a part of the world I had ties to and presented in a non-English medium that I could understand so it has a special place in my heart, jankiness and all
about the physical releases, I though I saw on the stalker reddit that some time ago that people bought them, but got refunded. cause they weren´t able to supply the demand for it. but that was only for the ultimate edition as far I know. probably because they don´t got enough props, which you would get with ordering this edition. don´t know if anyone commented this. but thought it might help clarify some stuff
@Jasondurgen The ultimate collectors physical whatever it's called. I'd gladly pay (if the game was good) 300 bucks for that but it's like 4something I think which is a bit much for what it is.
@@BrokenCircle1 I agree, I wasn’t planning on getting the ultimate collection but I checked the price out of curiosity and it really caught me by surprise. I haven’t gotten a game since the trilogy came to console and I don’t have game pass so I figured I’ll do the limited edition
I'm a bit worried for the game, but for other reasons: - The small sequences of gunplays are not very appealing, with the player going straight into the ennemies with complete disregard with his safety. Quite the opposite of the original game fighting gameplay. - No word about the ALife. My favorite memories from the (modded) original game came from the ALife creating unpredictable situations due to emergent gameplay, like a blowout forcing stalkers and mutants alike to fight for a hideout. I'm not sure the new AI engine will be as amazing as the original one.
All good points. As for the combat sequences I think and hope that that's just for the purpose of the trailer being showy and exciting. The A Life thing is an interesting point. After all this is largely going to be an entirely different dev team to the original one. Concerning for sure.
Don't worry about the gun fights in the trailer. I agree, they turn me off too. But even if the gun fights are really like that in the actual game, I am sure there will be modders letting people tweak the experience within probably hours of release. Actually, if you remember the vanilla experience with SoC, the gun fights were awful. The guns were made to deliberately not shoot straight; that was something the modders fixed for us.
@@BrokenCircle1 Yep you're right, the Devs confirmed it on Reddit And this kind of thing was also in the OG stalker trailer in fact More bombastic than stalker 2
my biggest problem is the fact that they moved on, from at first, the X-Ray Engine for Unreal Engine 4, then they switched to Unreal Engine 5. Now I am not sure if any work was done on Stalker 2 with the X-Ray Engine, but what I know is that switching engines mid development leads to a lot, and lot of bugs, which tbh gets worse when you keep in mind that this iteration of Stalker 2 have been in development since 2017-2018 and knowing how Stalker SOC's development went (the game for most of the time it was developed on was nothing more than a glorified tech demo), and also knowing that GSC had a bit of struggle in wake of the war in Ukraine, it sets the precedent of "it will be buggy and it will crash a lot, and most bugs won't be fixed by the developers", only for GSC's pre-order plans to drag down the whole situation further TLDR, Stalker 2 will be quite literally a classic stalker experience that fans may not end up enjoying due to expecting improvements
I can't speak for how the game is going to launch. I hope it's in a better state than the originals... But to be fair the x-ray engine was trash as is to blame for most of the original launch problems. The modded x64 version is much improved but it's still a very limited, buggy and dated engine. The switch to UE was the right choice I feel
I don't see the problem. No one is making you buy the pre-release and if you never knew the pre-release gave you something extra, you would never miss it. Just preorder it. You know you are going to buy it eventually. It also doesn't matter if some players have "better" gear than others. It is a single-player game. It doesn't matter if they decide to sell extra equipment on the side. It is a single-player game. Would it bother you that there are cheat codes, but they are not releasing them? It is a single-player game--you play it the way you want to play, and you don't get caught up in what other players do with it. Preorder means, thank you, here is something extra for your loyalty. You don't have to help the company by preordering, and they don't have to (and should not) offer you any reward for not helping them.
Totally agree, I preordered it, but I also preordered Star Field, and I really regretted doing that. So, I canceled my preorder to Stalker 2, Star Field taught me how to lose 100 dollars real quick.
Trailer did impress me personally but yeah preorder thing you mentioned is indeed concerning, I still think you can buy them later in game through DLCs list but locking quest behind editions is bullshit, if they were access of DLC campaign stuff it would make more sense, single quests however? Nah By the way i grabbed stalker trilogy and generation zero, bot are good but shadow of Chernobyl impressed me almost immediately, also considering this grab chernobylite soon before sale is over
Chernobylite is FANTASTIC. Definitley get that one. If yourre on the fence about it I did a video on it a while ago. Gen Zero I actually have a video in the works on...its just getting along slowly since I've been busy and making other videos. The OG Stalkers are always cool.
@@BrokenCircle1 yeah I remember you saying these in previous video we talked in,not missing out chance on chernobylite this time, reason i high hopes from it is because of your video to be honest
The side quest is not subject to pre-order bonus. It is available for those that purchas delux edition or higher. The only content you get if you pre-order is extended campfire and some cosmetics. This is what's stated on their website. Please re-review the information.
Yes its subject to a pre order bonus of the more expensive editions. The whole thing is BS. There is nothing to re review. Your acting like my info is wrong when it isn't. Perhaps I could have phrased it slightly better but this is just denying the facts.
@@BrokenCircle1 if you go to their website, and hover over to the deluxe edition and 'preorder bonus' you can see the stuff you get when you preorder. If you look at the list below this, there is an '!' Which says 'special extra quest'. This extra qurst is part of the deluxe package, not preorder bonus. Clear?
The main reason for the bonuses I believe even having to lock certain parts of the story is because of current events in Ukraine. They might need to raise more money for some necessities especially half the development are sent on the frontlines
I really hope GSC backs out of this since side quests? yeah sure if they are interesting but EXPANISONS THAT CONTINUE OR EXPANDS THE STORY BEHIND 110 EUROS???? I'm praying to every god i know that they back out of this
Thanks for the critical assessment of Stalker 2. If there are already "exclusive" costumes, I don't think it's that unrealistic if there are microtransactions for skins. In addition there are pre-order bonuses and Seasonpass, I'm also concerned when these skins are offered that have nothing to do with Stalker (imagine when a player runs around with the unicorn costume and the neon-colored AK-74). And sry, my english is not so good.
I already pre-ordered years ago. I'm excited for it. I also have a lot of UE5 experience and will be modding the hell out of this. The mods will be epic 😂
To each their own. Wont lie I am tempted to pre order but then again I haven't pre ordered a game since Halo 5...what a disaster that was. Part of the reason I'm just going to wait. Been burned too many times. Looking forward to seeing those mods though :) Thanks for watching.
PREORDER BONUS gives: Extended campfire content Exclusive weapon skin Exclusive armor skin 'Early bird' multiplayer badge Special Extra Quest you can get in DELUXE EDITION and ULTIMATE EDITION even after the game comes out.
Physical editions are up where i live. The price too. Has been for over 1.5 years. Ozone bg is our local site. I agree on the Quest part but for the ownership part - the game has no DRM. A game with a Physical edition and DRM cannot be owned. A game without a Physical edition and without DRM can be owned .
@CharcharoExplorer Well if it requires the Steam client to function that is still DRM. If I do buy it after release then I'll definitley go with the GOG version then since there is no need for a client.
@@BrokenCircle1 The game is on GOG day one. So it doesnt have DRM at all it seems. On Steam some games can be started without the Steam Client even working THOUGH they do download via it. In reality I did miss something. Technically for a game to be immortal and FULLY owned, you need source code access + no DRM. That is the Golden Standard.
I pre-ordered the ultimate edition. I hope pre-order skins are better, that the added mission gives free insane loot,... to have more than those paying less.
Dude. I agree with you. You should bring this topic to Blizzard, to Battle State, to THQ, to Sony, to Bethesda and so on. They need to learn from you my man. I though the same thing. I said... "ohh boy... this doesn't look right. I don't like it"... Then I remembered that I have been paying for almost two decades for DLCs and in a lesser extent for pre-release content or bonuses in single player campaigns... so then I decided to shut up because my initial theory was fucked up and did not make any sense in today's market. Yep.
What mod/gameplay is being shown here when it comes to firefights etc.. looks like a mod for CoP (yes i know some of this video is also the footage from the stalker 2 releases)
I hope at least the extra quest that is locked doesn't affect the ending My plan is to play space marine 2 whilst all the pay pigs test stalker 2 for me and if i find out that extra quest can effect the main ending im gonna wait for a sale or a cheap key
@BrokenCircle1 I feel like anomaly and gamma took a bit too much inspiration from Clear Sky's "difficulty". Clear Sky had some problems lmao. I ended up enjoying it once I chose to accept it's flaws and modded it with ABR though. Call of Pripyat has good gameplay but I feel it lacks that distinct full of life feel that SoC and CS have.
@@Neros_light 100% agree on all that. Yeah Clear Sky is by far the worst of the bunch. CoP did lack that as well. Anomaly...I did a video on that a bit ago. Made alot of people very angry but whatever. I hate Anomaly. I tried for years to enjoy it but there's just too much wrong with it for my liking.
@BrokenCircle1 I like Anomaly/Gamma but I'll be honest, I prefer what SoC and CS had to offer. I might just move on to Metro now cause that lack of life feeling CoP has is disappointing to me. I expected SoC levels of interactivity and A-Life and I guess I went in with the wrong expectations.
I was just thinking about it all after the gamescom session. Hell games expensive as hell, and with menu of golden, copper, wooden, standard "edition". Fuck it all.
Also if you focus in the trailer, the human NPCs are kinda bad and easy to kill, this means people will get bored of the game quickly unless they add an open world multiplayer with different factions, then it will get interesting
i dont know if i am going to pre order Stalker 2 but i can say it looks amazing , the pre order bonus is scammy imo but eh its done by most AAA companies lately . What i am worried about is that if my pc can run it smoothly and Stalker has a bad track record with that , clear sky when it released melted pcs like crysis did so with how good looking stalker 2 is i am very worried (also considering its got lumin doesnt help at all lol) . Still very excited for the game
I didn't know about the "locked quest' until your video. I understand this video has already fallen out of date (there are prices on the website), but it seems as if the quest is completely extra and not a part of the main storyline. It also seems locked to the deluxe edition and not preordering, unless I am mistaken and there is both (deluxe edition quest and preorder quests). I don't care for the idea, but tbh It has not swayed my excitement nor is going to stop me from ordering one of the non-standard versions. I am a fanboy and I don't care. These games are some of the only ones I have never put away for good.
Do not forget this game once tried NFTs. That was the moment I realized I will pirate the shit out of this game first, then see if it's even worth buying it.
This. Surprised to see it getting essentially forgotten. Judging by the obvious emphasis and hopes they're putting on animations and graphics, coupled with the NFT fiasco, I really doubt the management actually understands what the community wants - but they do understand how to attract money and somehow manage to piggyback on the previous games, its legacy, and community's hype for the new game despite showing basically nothing of value or noteworthy. Like, I don't even understand what's new in the game aside from the pretty new engine, graphics, and some muh immersive animations and gun attachments - all which already look dated and out of place. I just don't see how a reskin with nothing new and exciting to offer constitutes this much anticipation.
" Pre order and you get to hear more NPC stories around the campfire and they will play more songs on guitar " LMAO, combine that with paid outfit skins and I'm not buying this. I will pirate it however.
I just pre-ordered cuz I know I will buy the game regardless of it's quality. I know, it's not a great attitude to have towards games, but I'm a really big S.T.A.L.K.E.R. fan, so yea... Plus the Ukrainian regional pricing helped, at the time the Ultimate Edition was only ~$40 at the time I bought it
@@BrokenCircle1 Cosmetic or not I certainly hope the community provides sufficient backlash. I'm a bit tired of people giving lazy justification to the company for cheap cash grabs. I guess most people haven't heard the saying of, "if you give a mouse a cookies, he'll want milk". Ultimately I just want to be treated with respect as a consumer.
Honestly if it was just stuff that gave an advantage like guns and armor i wouldnt mind so much cause its a single player game but actual missions is a bit too far
Yes, but at the same time, the game itself is cheaper than other games from the same category, actually the most expensive stalker edition costs as much as the regular edition of a new AAA game and let's not forget that there is a war going on in their country and GSC buys non-military equipment for the army, not to mention the fact that many employees joined the army, I hope the game will be great, but even if it isn't, I won't regret any penny I've already spent on pre-order.
War is not a blank check to engage in crappy business practices that quite honestly I think they would be doing so even without a war. I had read that over a decade ago (before even the 2014 annexation) GSC was planning to have the original Stalker 2 have always online DRM...
@@BrokenCircle1 Anyway, this game is generally cheap by today's standards, one less mission and some clothes is not a big tragedy in my opinion, I think people are exaggerating when for 50% more price there is maybe 1% more content and they must have this content, maybe it is not a cool move on the part of the developers but honestly it's not realistically a big loss for the player
@@degenerat3380 It's not so much about that is about the principle. You give these companies an inch they will take a mile. Thinking like that is why we get the slop we do today.

Sorry. Just trying to voice my own concerns. Some have been quick to point out it seems the special quest isn't a pre order bonus just an ultimate edition bonus which to me doesn't matter because past pre orders ultimate editions sell out pretty fast so it basically still is. This whole thing is just a mess.
Graphics this, graphics that. If you're rich and can afford a new GPU every other year, then good for you. I'm speaking for the 90 percent, I don't give that many fucks about it just don't make me upgrade please!!!
Same dude, not MUCH gameplay footages so it's REALLY fishy so I ain't pre-ordering just yet. The gameplays they showed seem a bit too weird in a way that makes me feel unsatisfied
I thought it looked good but fair enough. I do find it strange that they haven't showed more. I mean BF4 back in the day we had like a whole 30 minutes of raw gameplay a year before the game came out.
@@BrokenCircle1 It's rather up to the developers to decide how they want to showcase their game. Some lay all their cards plain onto the table, for all to see, some keep them close to their chest. Others again show only some of them, but not all. Okay, I think this card analogy is exhausted now. Just sayin. STALKER is a story-rich game where showing too much might tip off seasoned players about the story, whereas BF4 is just (damn good) multiplayer. I don't even remember whether it had a story campaign or not. Also, let's not forget that STALKER 2 did have a slightly more troubled development cycle. Where BF4 modellers might have had issues with 3D-modelling russian bombs and rockets, GSC had those things literally fly at them in real life, so...
@hunter_0221 So what? So many people seem to be implying or making excuses that if the game sucks or is overpriced or something then it's fine 'because war'
I wanna know how it's going to perform on a 1650 gpu. I have no problem with high latency, 30fps gameplay. I ll just turn on fsr 3 balanced frame gen on. That's it. If i get 30 fps at lowest setting that way. I might as well buy it. ❤️🔥🗿 I'm a big stalker fan. I think it might give me 45 fps at low settings balanced fsr frame gen on. So that's absolutely fine. @_@ i wanna play the main story question. :| i play games at 24 fps with motion blur on. Which is absolutely fine and on low settings. (It's my mobile genshin impact settings) 😅 If it runs. That's enough.
honestly that's very commendable. I have already lost myself too much in obsessing over hardware and having at least 60fps on high setting otherwise i won't play it until i can with an upgrade or a patch of the game. My Steam Deck helped me to ground myself a bit more again so that i can accept 40 or 45 fps even though it makes me a bit motion sick (wouldn't be able to do that on a larger display because my motion sickness would kick in even harder) I did play many games in 30fps before i switched to PC from my PS4 but i've become so used to high refresh rate gaming that it has gotten hard to go back. Hold on to that mindset and be happy with what you got is something i have to remind myself over and over again so thanks for reminding me that these "standards" are actually trash and i should just enjoy a game when i'm able to play it
Yeah and this whole thing frankly I think would happen even if the war never did. At the end of the day too its the CEO that will be getting the money not really the developers.
@@voonijf great argument. Instead of me making a statement to show that as a consumer this annoys me I should just shut up and let every game do this until each game is nothing but a half baked joke. Oh wait it’s already that
@Broken Circle Real question is: "Is 'You Don't Get All Quests If You Won't Preorder' the same as 'You Get An Extra Quest We Cooked Specially For If You Preorder'?" Because i feel like it won't be "we cut out a part to strap it on for the preorder guys" but rather "we made this silly little quest specifically for our preorder supporters". And i really do expect that it will be some silly little quest, maybe with some fourth wall breaking or something like that, it wouldn't be a first time i see something like this in a game. So, i'd say you're jumping to conclusions too easily AND are waaaay to hard on this part as essentially if you start going this route you can also say "what they're locking skins behind a preorder paywall?" "so they're locking artwork behind a preorder paywall now?" "so there's ANY CONTENT behind a preorder paywall now?" Think about it.
Given the broken, downgraded state many games release at lately, you'd be forgiven for thinking the industry release model is basically Early Access, with multiple patches after release eventually brining things to something resembling what should be a retail release state.
@BrokenCircle1 I decided to mod it though I'm not sure Iike the changes lmao. Trying to find a good first playthrough type mod. I tried the same for SoC but had trouble and ended up enjoying vanilla anyway

Yeah let's hope for the best.
Preordering anything is risky.
By making a pre-order you do not lose anything. If the game is delayed, you can return the money at any time. If you are not satisfied with the quality of the game, then on steam it is also possible to return the money before you have played for several hours.
And if your currency on steam is not euro/dollar, then there is a chance that the price will rise later
In this case, pre-ordering saves money

I feel empathy there but seeing GSC talk about that and then hiking prices up on each edition leaves a sour taste in my mouth
GSC knows fans will buy S.T.A.L.K.E.R 2 regardless so why the "editions"? That's practically taking advantage of fans lol
Why the editions? In the end it all just about money. That's the only reason.
Ultimate edition you say? what in the goddamn sidorovich fuckery is going on here ... smells like taking it to the ultimate high seas lol
So you’re gonna pirate a game over an edition. Man that’s a bit childish
It is a pretty common practice for games to have single-player content that is originally a pre-order bonus, which becomes widely available later on in some form (free update, DLC, special bundle, etc.)
There's plenty of examples I could point to where this has happened, but the main one I like going to is New Vegas with Courier's Stash, where Obsidian combined a bunch of pre-order packs into a single DLC.
My theory is GSC will most likely end up taking this approach, but we'll see after the game releases.
I did not know that. I didn't play New Vegas till 2015 so it was already there. Always did wonder about that.

With me it's simple, I don't pre-order and I crack games if possible, if not then look for discounts in the future.
CoP allows you to have freeplay, not after the ending, when the helicopters are about take off you are given a choice:
Get in the helicopter and end the game,
Or
Stay in the Zone and end the game later, if this option is chosen the helicopters will take off without you and you will be left alone, when you come back to the Lavandry you will meet Gary and Loners who have taken the place of the Military in Pripyat, you will be able to visit almost (aside X-8) every part of the game and complete your quests, then talk back to Gary so you can evacuate and end the game.
I don't know if STALKER 2 will actually have freeplay, i doubt due to plot reasons, but we'd definitely get the chance to mod it into freeplay or have a stystem kind of like in CoP where you also get warned that is the ending of the game.

I checked both their page and steam page, from what I saw, only the ultimate edition gives you the extra stories. It probably doesn't matter if you pre-order it or not, however it still is disheartening to me for them to lock story expansions behind a paywall of $110.
That and the fact story expansions are even planned years before the game is out. This reeks of Destiny all over again.

you don't need to preorder to have the additional quest! if you preorder you only get campfire content, weapon skin, armor skin, MP badge and that's it. but I do agree that locking a quest behind editions is a bad thing. hope they get rid of that, I preordered long ago just because the game will have 2 expansions but I would love to make that quest available for everyone.

Fair enough and good point. I agree for what you get the Ultimate Edition is way too expensive.
got into stalker a few months ago only to be put off Stalker 2 by its locked quests and making it feel more arcadey.

I'm a bit worried for the game, but for other reasons:
- The small sequences of gunplays are not very appealing, with the player going straight into the ennemies with complete disregard with his safety.
@@BrokenCircle1 Yep you're right, the Devs confirmed it on Reddit
And this kind of thing was also in the OG stalker trailer in fact
More bombastic than stalker 2
my biggest problem is the fact that they moved on, from at first, the X-Ray Engine for Unreal Engine 4, then they switched to Unreal Engine 5. Now I am not sure if any work was done on Stalker 2 with the X-Ray Engine, but what I know is that switching engines mid development leads to a lot, and lot of bugs, which tbh gets worse when you keep in mind that this iteration of Stalker 2 have been in development since 2017-2018 and knowing how Stalker SOC's development went (the game for most of the time it was developed on was nothing more than a glorified tech demo), and also knowing that GSC had a bit of struggle in wake of the war in Ukraine, it sets the precedent of "it will be buggy and it will crash a lot, and most bugs won't be fixed by the developers", only for GSC's pre-order plans to drag down the whole situation further
TLDR, Stalker 2 will be quite literally a classic stalker experience that fans may not end up enjoying due to expecting improvements
Read the whole thing. Yeah I agree. All good points. I didn't even think about the engine stuff when making this video so thanks for reminding me.

Exclusive weapon skin
Exclusive armor skin
'Early bird' multiplayer badge
Special Extra Quest you can get in DELUXE EDITION and ULTIMATE EDITION even after the game comes out.
It seems to me that EDITIONS will remain after the game is released, otherwise why make a separate PREORDER BONUS tab.
@@GoysToRoom I think you're right on the money right there
i even would love having the original OST from the 3 previous games, hell, even the OST of ANOMALY, i mso used to it that im going to miss it
Ew Anomaly lol. The original games tracks I'm sure will appear to some extent. The main theme they released a while ago sounds similar to SoCs theme.
based on the devs interviews I`d say you should expect an open world game with quests, not a quest game with some residual open world.
@user-zx8du3ik2j yeah I saw that. The most recent stuff actually looks quote cool and I'm optimistic.
New video on that comes out later today.
@@BrokenCircle1 Shweet👌
Physical editions are up where i live. The price too. Has been for over 1.5 years. Ozone bg is our local site.
I agree on the Quest part but for the ownership part - the game has no DRM. A game with a Physical edition and DRM cannot be owned. A game without a Physical edition and without DRM can be owned .
I wonder if the physical edition will have DRM...
@BrokenCircle1 it wont. It activates on steam but without drm.
Ultimate physical edition sounds fire ngl
@@Amung3AM it does come with some cool bonuses for sure but I think it's overpriced for what it is but then again everything is expensive these days.
absolutely true. Im on your side.
Yep.
They did push the release so they could fix bugs so i wouldnt be too worried how the game releases
What mod/gameplay is being shown here when it comes to firefights etc.. looks like a mod for CoP (yes i know some of this video is also the footage from the stalker 2 releases)
The mod shown is True Stalker
Description...
the exclusive quest are only part of the deluxe edition, and will still be available after, the preorder bonuses are actually very few
I hope at least the extra quest that is locked doesn't affect the ending
My plan is to play space marine 2 whilst all the pay pigs test stalker 2 for me and if i find out that extra quest can effect the main ending im gonna wait for a sale or a cheap key
@@papichuckle Good plan. Thanks for watching.
I think it's safe to say this is most likely an initiative of Microsoft, not GSC on its own.
@@AlexiosLair fair point. Almost forgot Microsoft has gotten involved with it. Kinda wish they didn't.
Not happening. Reckon I'll just find me a fit girl . . .
Yeah pay walls are not cool, thanks for bringing this to light.
@user-zx8du3ik2j Yeah I agree. Thanks for watching.
After playing a lot of the original trilogy and the Old World add on in Anomaly, I'm starting to see why people don't like base Anomaly and Gamma
Yeah fuck those mods.
Red dead has a pay quest too. But everyone can play it still to this day without preorder.
What the point to pay for the quest when it release ?
i dont know if i am going to pre order Stalker 2 but i can say it looks amazing , the pre order bonus is scammy imo but eh its done by most AAA companies lately .
What game or mod is @3:17?
I just don't see how a reskin with nothing new and exciting to offer constitutes this much anticipation.
they might do something like they did in call of pripyat where you complete the story and then you can do freeplay
That would be cool but I hope they have a good variety of radiant quests. Similar to what Daggerfall has.
" Pre order and you get to hear more NPC stories around the campfire and they will play more songs on guitar " LMAO, combine that with paid outfit skins and I'm not buying this. I will pirate it however.
I don’t condone it but I think it’s not that bad cuz my suspicion is that u will get the preorder bonuses from the bonus quest
I just pre-ordered cuz I know I will buy the game regardless of it's quality. I know, it's not a great attitude to have towards games, but I'm a really big S.T.A.L.K.E.R. fan, so yea... Plus the Ukrainian regional pricing helped, at the time the Ultimate Edition was only ~$40 at the time I bought it
The fact that this game is gonna be about a three month exclusive to Xbox just means there’s a PlayStation player y’all get to work out all the bugs
Im just gonna wait a month or 2 after release to buy with the first 20% off sale.
If there's microtransactions I will refund my preorder.
I think they might have said there would be cosmetic ones. Might be wrong on that but pretty sure I heard something on that.
There going to be skins multiplayer only locked though
@@BrokenCircle1 Cosmetic or not I certainly hope the community provides sufficient backlash. I'm a bit tired of people giving lazy justification to the company for cheap cash grabs. I guess most people haven't heard the saying of, "if you give a mouse a cookies, he'll want milk". Ultimately I just want to be treated with respect as a consumer.
@@SilliestGoober999 Yeah it sucks. I'm sure other people have talked about this but I've never seen it everyone seems too hyped.
Certain on-going events?
Honestly a gamepass monthly on either PC or XBS & TH-cam playthroughs for them paywalled stuff.
Honestly if it was just stuff that gave an advantage like guns and armor i wouldnt mind so much cause its a single player game but actual missions is a bit too far
i stopped preordering games for a long time...then starfield kinds tempted me and i did only to regret it will not preorder it
I’m sure they’ll sell them separately at some point after enough people complain
@@BrokenCircle1 Studios do such things because people really want that 1% of content for 50% more, just buy standard editions and show that you don't care about this 1%.
Remember that they wanted to do some NFT before cancel it because player where complaining
I remember Mafia 2 did the same and cut the game in 2 Pieces to selll separately
They must learn from 4 a games that created metro series
4a studios was the old gsc studios bro. Metro was made by the stalker people
I never preorder any game. You have given me some concerns over a game that i have been looking forward to since it was announced.
@hunter_0221 So what?
So many people seem to be implying or making excuses that if the game sucks or is overpriced or something then it's fine 'because war'
@@BrokenCircle1 Because it will be fine. As long as I get my refund. Have you ever been to war, friend?
@@hunter_0221 Lol implying I have to have been to war to criticize a game. The corporate shilling has truly reached a new level.
And we ain't friends.
Not sure why you think the skins/costumes are actual gear. No way they are.
(It's my mobile genshin impact settings)
😅 If it runs. That's enough.
honestly that's very commendable. I have already lost myself too much in obsessing over hardware and having at least 60fps on high setting otherwise i won't play it until i can with an upgrade or a patch of the game.
My Steam Deck helped me to ground myself a bit more again so that i can accept 40 or 45 fps even though it makes me a bit motion sick (wouldn't be able to do that on a larger display because my motion sickness would kick in even harder)
I did play many games in 30fps before i switched to PC from my PS4 but i've become so used to high refresh rate gaming that it has gotten hard to go back.
Hold on to that mindset and be happy with what you got is something i have to remind myself over and over again so thanks for reminding me that these "standards" are actually trash and i should just enjoy a game when i'm able to play it
This video is, what i like to call healthy skepticism
Hey nimrod there studio was displaced and probably 10s of workers and there families aswell I’d say a few payed add ons won’t hurt
First game I ever preordered (standard), I hope I dont have to refund this one

they delayed it, released ten hours ago on ign, im a bit miffed but i think its for the best

Yeah and this whole thing frankly I think would happen even if the war never did. At the end of the day too its the CEO that will be getting the money not really the developers.
you dont have to buy it lol
@@voonijf great argument. Instead of me making a statement to show that as a consumer this annoys me I should just shut up and let every game do this until each game is nothing but a half baked joke. Oh wait it’s already that
@Broken Circle Real question is: "Is 'You Don't Get All Quests If You Won't Preorder' the same as 'You Get An Extra Quest We Cooked Specially For If You Preorder'?"
Because i feel like it won't be "we cut out a part to strap it on for the preorder guys" but rather "we made this silly little quest specifically for our preorder supporters".
And i really do expect that it will be some silly little quest, maybe with some fourth wall breaking or something like that, it wouldn't be a first time i see something like this in a game.
So, i'd say you're jumping to conclusions too easily AND are waaaay to hard on this part as essentially if you start going this route you can also say "what they're locking skins behind a preorder paywall?" "so they're locking artwork behind a preorder paywall now?" "so there's ANY CONTENT behind a preorder paywall now?"
Think about it.
Given the broken, downgraded state many games release at lately, you'd be forgiven for thinking the industry release model is basically Early Access, with multiple patches after release eventually brining things to something resembling what should be a retail release state.
Finished SoC and started CS and um- pain.
Yeah CS is rough and by far the worst of the originals.
@BrokenCircle1 I decided to mod it though I'm not sure Iike the changes lmao. Trying to find a good first playthrough type mod. I tried the same for SoC but had trouble and ended up enjoying vanilla anyway
