Thanks for your brilliant review. I work with Elvis @ Forest Fundamentals. At the moment he is off camping for the week testing new products. I’ll be sure to show him your video on his return and no doubt he will be in touch. Thank you to the customers also who have purchased this product on your recommendation. Thanks again.
A good product deserves to be seen , I also reviewed a product you sell a few months ago, it's a whistle with a ferrorod attached, there's a long and boring story to go with this product but I won't go into that. th-cam.com/video/CLNLcHOopTs/w-d-xo.htmlsi=brRU5dhMb9vZ7uYI
thank you for this great review I used my new Forest Fundamentals rod all day yesterday works great hot sparks and doesn't skip or chatter because its too soft the spine of my MK2
Looks great. I may invest in one ,mind you. I do have a lot of ferro rods, probably enough for at least 3 generations, lol. Never have too much kit, though ,lol .God bless you and your family. Lee 🙏
Great video Rob! Allways had me a shorter fire steel, phreaps i should try a longer one. Random thought how does O1 compare to your cpm4v knife thats in this video? Cheers🍺
@@krisshh1587 not worth it, I only make the runs of expensive steel because people want them, I'd be happy with O1 for the rest of my life if there was nothing else available.
@@krisshh1587 Steel, is literally THE last factor, you should care for on a knife. It's everything else that matters more. O1 and generaly low ally steels, aka Carbon steels, are more suitable for these knind of knves, especially for scandi grinds. Go with O1, CPM 4V, isn't a bad choice for experienced users, however O1, is what I'd recommend. It's the traditional steel, used in these kind of knives.

Thank you for the review, I’ve always used Baylyte ferro rods. I’ll have to try these. Thanks!

I have quite a few aswel my friend.
Wales? It’s been years since I’ve been there but you remind me of someone from Wales.
👍Nice Rob. Pitty we can't get them here and Uberleben won't ship here 😢. But we do get others that work so I can't complain too much 😉😊
Nice fire at the end...wish I could join you in a cup of tea!!!
Always helpful, Rob. Thanks!
Thankx Rob
Nobody can make feather sticks like Rob! Looks like a a great rod but you didn’t really comment on if it is a soft or hard rod. Looked soft.
It's soft, soft rods are better bigger , I'm quite happy using a scout light my fire as they are hard. I really forgot to mention it.
Thanks, but I already have one of those. Agree, great.
👍
Love that rod, already purchased one off of eBay, works tits.

O1 is easier to sharpen and it's a shed load cheaper!
@@RobEvansWoodsman the extra cost-you think worth or not? (For extra edge retention etc)
