Mate , the blade is amazing and I know how lucky I am to get one. Your order books are going to be really busy. It is now my main blade with a secondary bushtool and axe (plus saw depending on what I am doing). Really well made and so comfortable and no fatigue after extended use........ Great work mate.....👍👍👍👍
Absolutely spot on. It's a brilliantly simple design well executed. No unessential bit's sharp, strong, pointy and with that curve. I really really like it.
@@RobEvansWoodsman Probably right. But I like the natural feel of where to carve letting the blade your hands and imagination do the drawing, that’s what made that spoon so cool..
Great video! The more I see that MK2 the more I like it. Your timing on this video is excellent. I just got home from an overnight camp, put away my gear and sat to watch this video. As soon as you mention forgetting to wipe it down after breakfast I thought "OH CRAP" checked my knife and sure enough just a few spots of rust starting.... Thanks for inadvertently saving my blade!😂
I find it easier to hit the blade with the flint when using a knife to get a spark. Charcloth on the edge of a log, knife tip resting on it to hold it, and strike down the spine with the flint. Much safer and more reliable.👍
I was sure that you would be happy with what looks like an amazing blade. I am sure that anyone fortunate enough to get one will be as delighted if not more so. 👍👍👍👍
Very nice pair of videos and a lovely knife. Thanks for demonstrating the chopstick/tongs - I'll introduce that idea to my PLs and APLs at summer camp. I'm still using my Rob Evans Bushtool and it's still getting admiring comments from Scouts from all over the world. I would very much like to have an option to buy one of these new knives when they become available: I'll put a new piggy bank to one side to start saving now.
@@RobEvansWoodsman ok - thanks for clarifying. I will keep my eyes open for the new (MkII Mors Tribute Knives) becoming available. I can't see my bushtool fading away in my lifetime!
Looking forward to the roll out of this. It will go nicely with my Orford and R. Harrington knives I've purchased upon your positive words about those makers.
Rob I am lucky enough to have a book signed by Mors via one of his studies Jon McCarthur , Mors Inspired me to get outdoors when I was around 10 seeing a show he did here in Canada called " On the Road Again" where a fella travels and meets interesting people,Really love the design of this knife And when I can swing it I'll definitely be contacting you / subbing for sale updates ....Atb...Spook
@RobEvansWoodsman Very Lucky ! Thats awesome , one very big regret of mine was not getting up to Karamet while he was there , Life got in the way unfortunately...Cheers My Friend !

Nothing harmful in Ash, its just very open grained, so for kitchen stuff, things get into the grain and go rancid. Same reasons its a poor wood for an outdoor construction material. Rots quickly, bad around moisture.
Dear Mr Evans ,where can I contact you to purchase/ request one of your knives.I have been looking for a British maker of 'mors' knives for a long time.please contact me asa possible with a reply to this comment.many thanks.Tim
Flint and Steel and Ferro rods ideally you want to stick with a dedicated striker. My preference anyway. Was there enough Carbon Content in the Blade Rob? People Say you need a high carbon steel striker for Flint and Steel. I am no expert. Interested in your thoughts brother.😊👍🌏🌏🌏🌿🌿🌿🥝🥝🥝🔪🔪🔪🪨🪨🪨💥💥💥💥😳

Fantastic looking knife, knocked it out the park there mate. 👍🏻
You were one of the first channels that I joined when I got onto TH-cam. I have learned a lot from you and still enjoy your content. Be Blessed
Thank you my friend.
Glad it passed muster mate, loving the loyalty to existing customers and members old school values rule 👍 👌
Can’t wait to own one of these gems! Phenomenal work Mr Evans
Soon my friend 👍
Lovely job Rob 👍
Cheers mate
They are going to sell like hot cakes Rob!
I’ve seen the knife and it’s a cracker. Thanks for the shout out bud. 👍
Beautiful looking tool, worked like a charm.

Great looking knife! Mr Kochanski would approve for sure! I don't need another knife but would like one of those. Great video as always 👍
MK 2 is amazing👍
I was very impressed with the spoon as well
I should mark them out they'd be better.

It happens to the best of us.
Brilliant looking knife and I know that Mors would tip his beret in approval.
I love my Mors tribute knife, such a good design and comfortable handle. Thanks Rob!
Give me the tribute over the bushtool and Woodlore anyday.
I thought you were going to like it when I saw you using it. It's a beautifully designed knife and it looks great.
Thanks, I appreciate it.

Nice to see you like your design and it works great for you 👍. Looking forward to see the next videos related to the MKT MK2 😀

Nice demonstration and a very beautiful product. Congratulations.
Great video, Rob 👍 The MK2 seems to be an awesome knife 👌
Looks like a winner.
Glad to see the mk2 performed as well as expected I will have to add one to my little collection as soon as they are available 😊😊 4:30
Looking good, I think the little handle flairs are a nice touch - just enough to tell your hand where it's sitting and quite classy.
And gives the knife excellent sheath retention.
Nice knife! Looking forward to ordering one in the future!

👍👍👌👌🙏🙏excellent Rob
My theory is that harder steel will produce smaller sparks when striking a flint.
That is why it works better with a dedicated fire striking steel.
This was treated by a different guy than usual. That's probably why it hardly sparked.
Don't think you'll have any unsold stock Rob,keep us informed😂👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍😎😎😎😎😎
Cheers Alan
Your spoon may not be Perfect Rob, but it is Perfectly usable! 😂😂 See what Ive done there😅😊👍👍😮
❤ wow
Looks like a nice knife! Compared to the Mk1.. "I couldnt possibly comment!"
Looks amazing mate definitely going to get one when there out also how do I become a channel member I can’t find any link on your TH-cam page?
Go to my home screen, there's the word join under the options (playlists etc) press that , sometimes it doesn't work on apple device.
You mentioned that RWL blanks are much more expensive than O1. How much? What is the relative cost for O1, 52100, RWL, CPM-3V, and Magnacut?
Easy to find out just go on a knifemaking store site, cpm and RWL Aldo cost more to HT . Magnacut is roughly 5x more expensive than 01.
How do I get in contact with rob I am interested in his knife. I know I will have to wait a long time but I am willing to wait
Email me robevs73@googlemail.com
What do you use to treat the wood spoon, oil?
Nothing, I'm not going to do anything with it, if I do make anything work keeping I'll use Tung oil.
Is that a momentum watch?
It's a Citizen eco drive.
Why is the spine dropping?
The large clip drops the centre line of the blade , thinning the tip and making a more gradual curve, this makes for a far better carving tool.
I don't know if that knife is great or if you sell it really well ... But damn does it looks fantastic !
Both!

Rob that's a super sexy hatchet sheath. Did you make that?
Yes, ages ago

Shit to carve!
Burns well.
@@RobEvansWoodsman Yeah it is tough, Best burning wood there is. My wood store is 80% Ash, 10% birch and 10% Oak

It's O1 should have worked really well.
Could be me being a little cautious and not hitting it hard enough.
