    I'd like to see you go out in the wild somewhere with the Milbank Bag, a crusader cup and the necklace firestarter. Using those three and nothing else, find items in the wild to start a fire, collect water from a natural source (filter it with the Milbank & purify it in the fire), then sit and enjoy a well earned brew, ideally with a nice view 👍💧🔥☕️ 🌳 🍃

    Love Forest Fundamentals - the little striker is their "Stealth" striker and the kit with the man sized rod (...that came out wrong...) is called the Beast lighting kit. Used mine a few times this year and it's been really consistent, especially considering this years very variable summer weather

    Fantastic video, as usual. Your passion for what youbdo shows through and with these unboxing videos, you're like a kid at Christmas.
    The striker for that ferrous rod, looked like a multi tool. With a straight edge for striking, maybe cutting, maybe for creating a feather stick, a screwdriver. The notches inside looked like they're for bolts but maybe the fat wood fits inside so you can scrape of shavings?
    Thanks for sharing 👍

    Nice box of goodies.
    I liked the artisan fire starter because of its size. Having suffered s stroke and with arthritis, the grip in my hands is not what it was so the larger the item the easier it is to hold it firmly. Also I am rather taken with the pink fire plugs. I think I will get a tin of those too.

    Would like to see a good explanation of the Millbank bag and it’s history on why it’s called a Millbank bag. I already know but there is very little information and demonstration on such a simple piece of equipment. The slow match/rope fire starter in-depth use would be nice. Shame the canvas bag doesn’t have a belt loop on so you can use it similarly to a dump bag for tinder foraging.

    Might seem daft to most
    - but I am strongly left handed. The usual striker for a ferry rod is burred up the wrong way as far as I am concerned! And don’t get me started on sporks! Don’t believe me, try using these things left handed only and let me know how you get on. In fact, any tips on how to cope with stuff that is made the wrong way round for people like me would be gracefully received. Some of us lefties just can not cope with right handed stuff, but like most righties can’t cope with leftie stuff…….ha ha, and then you mentioned it!

  • @bacon-outdoor

    Nice box Nick.
    I bought a millbank bag a while ago. Here in the Netherlands, unfortunately, there are no fresh water streams like the one you used a while ago to show how to filter water.
    Can you use this bag with dirty ditch water? Of course boil it after filtering.

  • @joeltaylor2830
    @joeltaylor2830 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I know you've done a Millbank bag video before, but I'd like to see a comparison of that (used with boiling) compared to a popular 'known brand' water filter, a piece of cloth over a mug then boiling, water purification tablets - to see how the look, taste, ease of use and time all differ?

    • @NickGoldsmith776
      @NickGoldsmith776  ปีที่แล้ว

      Ok - the real test I feel is longevity May popular filter tend to gunk up or become slow/hard to use with time .
      This is simple and works on a long time tested level .

    Also nick and this is a little challenge ..! If you were out just walking the dog... • @timbutler4756
