We didn't run the turbo for long before going for something bigger. It did hold up to some abuse though. At the end of the day it's just some brass and seals so there's nothing really that could go wrong with it.
I just bought one for K04, wasn't expensive probably around £20. Id say it's worth a try for the minimal cost. If you do it most kits come with 2 different bushes and I used a different one from what the turbo came with as it seemed to perform better. If you give it a try and have any questions don't hesitate to drop me message.
Do you mean for between the housing and the back plate? The massive one ? If so it seems to depend on the turbo. On the one I’m rebuilding here it uses RTV to seal it up.
When you remove the bearing from the housing you will see which one it is. When you come to replace it just use the one that looks like same as the one it came with. If I'm honest either seems to work, ive tried it and had not changes running either a single or twin feed bearing in a single feed core.
Awesome video, I need to rebuild my K04 on my mazdaspeed 6 and this helps a lot. Thanks!
Thanks for the comment, glad the video helped

How reliable is the REBUILD kit? Is it running great to date? is there an OEM rebuild kit?

Would any ko4 rebuild kit work for this? My turbo seals blew and was hoping I could just rebuild it

@@bfgaragethe two different bushes are journal bearings, one will be twin feed and the other single feed. They should not be mixed up.
This ENTIRE video is a addendum on my first time eating (or trying to) lobster and clams. 😢
Hi, is there a temperature o ring for the compresor housing?

@@bfgarage i understand by in my case i have a k04-020 and i find kits with single and twin... do you have any information?
Id just go twin then as if yours is a single you can still fit a twin, if its a twin you cant fit a single.
