Torry was an awesome drummer. seemingly endless energy and a fun to watch.
I totally agree, but there was a price to pay for her terrible technique - non-stop injuries. So I love to see her play, but cringe whenever she does.

@@142horizon She was a self-taught drummer. Great heart and yes, I fucking LOVE watching her go nuts doing her thing, but not holding the sticks just right led to her getting tendonitis which is what ended her career.
Every single thing about The Donnas was fucking awesome - but Tori on drums was on a totally different level. So sad she had arm trouble and had to retire. But she left her mark.
Torry Castellano is in Cambridge now, probably sitting in some chestnut paneled lecture theater listening to an old fogy talk about contract law. "Has it been 13 years? It seems like just yesterday I was on stage in Germany jamming with my girlfriends to 75,000 fans".

Miss these ladies! Awesome skills by all of them. Some of the best rock riffs and kick ass tunes. Confidence, talent, energy and great songs. Couldn't ask for more.

I truly wish that the Donnas hadn't broke up 10 plus years ago because those girls knew what punk rock was about and they had a good stage presence they were a Crowd Pleaser to the Core and The Donnas were ALWAYS Pretty To Look at as well Crazy Punk Rocking Bitches a good band that got away The Donnas 4 ever!
They were a great party band. Playing early in the day at these huge festivals would suck a bit. Which is what the Donna's were doing here in '03. If they had any set after the sun went down it would have gone off.

Was sorry to see them go. Perfect example of why it's hard to make a go.of it in the music biz, particularly if you don't have major label support. They were with Atlantic for a while, but according to them, Atlantic wasn't giving them the support they needed. I guess there were some changes at the label, and that's frequently bad news for some marginal artists.

I just watched U2 at Red Rocks, 1983 before this. THAT crowd was totally and completely onboard. A 1983 U2 crowd vs a 2003 Donnas crowd (Europeans at that!), it doesn't add up.

Straight forward, no frills, HARD driven Rock n Roll, is that so hard?? Many decades later and I still can't get enough!! I don't know what mass entertainment is doing these days, but it certainly ain't this, and that just don't cut it with me. Sure wish you girls would reunite and play again!!

Love this band so much. I wish Torry was taught the correct drumming technique to avoid injuries. Then, maybe they'd still be a chance of a reunion, tour and new record.
She did get some lessons but the damage was done.
Yeah injuries can be overwhelming... or maybe they rocked hard enough to fuck her wrists up. All messed up on the drums. But they left sick music anyway!

Dan Clary -- Check out a band called Cherry Bomb - They were an all teenage female rock group as well. They've disbanded and rebranded with a new replacement member and are now called "Hey Violet" . They lean more towards pop punk these days, but their drummer is a total bad ass. Just as Torry was.

Yeah I really rate the Donnas. Just great rock and roll basically. Really solid for a 4 piece. Although I love Ali Robertson's guitar tone, I just love watching Torry Castellano smashing the utter crap out of her drums like she's Animal from the Muppets. Or Keith Moon, albeit admittedly not quite as level of genius. Note: I'm supremely aware of the irony that it was her very "primitive", self-taught style that caused her career-finishing shoulder injury. A real shame but phenomenal while it lasted.
