Great deep dive and I Really appreciate your effort into the research. The end about money being around three percent should be a sign post about the financial world being an Illusion. I hope JL music will inspire in people what really matters in Life. So sad about John not being around anymore but I'm happy your pod cast is keeping JL Spirit alive to inspire us. Thanks Again.
You're welcome. I selected the bits of the book, knowing I'd have plenty to say in interjections. It's an MO that works pretty well. Thanks for listening
Very deep and comprehensive analysis. I wonder what he would have made of today's times? I think he would have a lot to say about the demise of the peace movement and the lack of rebellious voices within today's rock fraternity.
Despite what John said about heroes, he will be always a God to me. His very existence has made me a better person and for that, I can't thank the lad enough.
This is great… and that’s coming from someone who’s been a Beatles fan for 40+ years. You’re a great presenter and a wise person. Regarding Walls and Bridges, I just feel there’s something lacking (aside from Dream #9) that I can’t quite put my finger on. I remember Mae Pang (in her first memoir) saying she told John that his Rock and Roll album didn’t quite work because it didn’t contain any (presumably melodic) ‘highs’ and that’s what I think of W&B… it just kind of plods along, for the most part, neither offending nor elating. Controversially, I much prefer the Mind Games LP which, after POB, remains my most-listened-to Lennon album. Yep, even over Imagine!
Loved this. I don't buy the baking bread house husband story. I lean to the Goldman camp. Have you done an episode that discusses how the reception of double fantasy was impacted by his death. I am of the opinion that it would not have sold nearly as well had he not been tragically killed. For whatever merits Yoko had, people were interested in John. Not John and Yoko.
I kind of think yokos tracks are more interesting but have an odd insight of something happening beutifull boys lyrics and the sound effects she used being one track its almost spooky?! Walking on thin ice I know wasn't on the album but has the same kind of thing!
sorry guys, English is not my first language and I didn't quite understand what it says at 1:09:10. "I've never been a rock star" are these John's words or not?
@@glassoniononjohnlennon6696 you asked where you got the snippet of John Lennon saying his name, I am guessing from the audio diary from the late 70s, where he talks about his mother, and step father.
I dont buy a lot of what may says realy ,john was kind of using may she sees it as love which is sad for her because she was positive getting julian back in johns life, but to john may was someone that didnt threaten his marriage, may was naive the anti smoking weird story is odd as is a necklace yoko wanted may to have which prob was something to keep them apart as yoko was inclined to magic and john didnt quit smoking did he? By accounts he and yoko treated may appalingly in #9dream may is just filling in for yoko his lost week end was definate him being lost! He kept in touch with may because she was no threat i mean yoko had her bits on the side as well and john must have known about sam green who was mentioned as heir and custodian in his will shoul both he and yoko both pass, why leave everything and your kid to your interior designer but he's a mystery fixed it up for yoko to see a powerful witch, yoko wanted something important! In interviews you can hear that yoko had love for john he made her laugh a lot theres affection, she should have treated julian a lot better although he did kind of live with her and sean after johns passing, john didnt know what was comeing i think he and julian would have got closer!im glad john got to see and love fawlty towers and punk and new wave and genesis selling england by the pound!
Absolutely brilliant. Thank you Antony for the energy and work you put into making these podcasts. Looking forward to episode two!

Perfectly stated.
Wonderful, just found this, will listen this evening. Thank you so much.
Awesome. I have the David Sheff book so this is the closest I'll get to an audiobook even if it goes out of order sometimes lol
The available audio (more than 3 hours) is in the show notes. Hope you enjoy the podcasts 😀
I'm excited for this one!
Happy listening!
Great stuff man as always
Great work, thank you!
What a treasure this interview is.

John's Plastic Ono Band album is fantastic. My favorite solo album of his.

Say the word and you'll be free - Say the word and be like me - Say the WORD i'm thinking of - Have you heard the word is L♥VE?... 👏
Did the name thing come from his audio diary from 1978 or so?
How do you mean?

@@CartersRemasters Oh sorry. No, it didn't come from that. You can guess again or I can tell you
@@glassoniononjohnlennon6696 where did it come from?
@@hotrod12106 Sorry, forgot to answer. It's from an interview they gave to publicise the Help! film. It's on you tube
John wrote a song called..Illusions,,,,,,,,
Lennon was some cookie 😉
