I'd say in ideal circumstances it's a symbiotic relationship. Humans help trees become way more diverse. Being footwear, houses, containers, barriers, boats/ships, early aircraft, handles, tools, supports, toys, an anti-molerat stick, barely useable wasteful straws, etc. are all things trees could never achieve without human assistance (though I guess if you count nests then birds, squirrels, beavers, and insects can make them into houses too) Most noteworthy is the ability of a tree to repeatedly become a shelf or post in Massachusetts, with human assistance.

12 feet is big, but lay down next to 12' of measuring tape. It is still quite big but smaller than you’d imagine in your head. Height is important, but his depth and bulk is what makes Horrigan the great green giant that he is.
