I think the Browns confidence in #4 will be rewarded. He is comfortable with the team, the city, and now the scheme. I feel he no longer needs to prove himself he just needs to relax and let his talent and his knowledge of the game to shine through.
I'm trying to figure out what games these people watched last season. Watson played 6 games won 5. He came back and beat the ravens, which was supposed to have the best defense in the league. What are they looking for him to do?

I believe in DW4 he is due for a great season. Him and this team have gone through a lot of adversity. And we have manage to have some success. The old Browns would have found a way to use the adversity to lose games and be at the bottom of the division. The thing is, watson actually beat better competition: bengals, titans, cardinals, but most importantly the Ravens, when they seemed unstoppable. Flacco beat bears, jets, jags, texans. Did watson look like a 230 million dollar QB probably not. But for anybody to say joe flacco looked like a demi god out there and compare the 2 is unfair. Flacco lost to the texans texans, got slaughtered by the ravens, and watson beat the ravens sooo... yeah this is definitely watsons last year to show who he is no and if or buts

When we got him i said it would take three years to see his full potential first year 6 games rust 2 year injuries third year pop out and show people
No way it should take 3 years to see his full potential. If he was a young rookie maybe but he was an already pro bowl player that just took 1 year off. Flacco came in and made David a pro bowl player instantly

I’m so tired of hearing about how he had 1 good half vs the ravens… imagine that being the brag about a guy the franchise sold their souls for…if he is not good by week 3 or 4, they need to figure something out..
Yea I agree this is the "now or never" year but I also feel like his play has been overly criticized. His last 3 games (no including the 10 plays or so in Indy) he had 3 solid-really good efforts. I think 289 (should've been 300+ but they said Coop was out of bounds), 2 TDs on 70% completion vs TN, 250ish total yards 2 TDs vs AZ (yea they stink lol) and the 14/14 comeback with broken shoulder and ankle sprain against BAL. I think the biggest thing for DW4 is getting a stretch of games together of being on the field. He got better at the end of 2022, his last few games of '23 were better. Hard to be successful with the start/stopping of play time. Also Flacco was better suited for that "old" Stefanski offense. He turned it over a lot tho. Ken Dorsey coming in to run the Buffalo/Daboll offense to spread it out more should help. That and the Jeudy trade and being on the field I think Watson plays well this year

Thats an unfair assessment against Flacco in the playoffs. They didnt play yhe run at all and just came after the passer. Flacco had no time at all during that game from the second quarter on. That line and the def was awful the whole game

i disagree that this year is all or nothing. It's the national media who's making this assumption . We know what happens when you assume things. Now the premise and logic behind that Flaco ran this offense better than Watson is bogus. Two people Berry and Stefanski ( who are very intelligent ) already knew that Flacco and Watson run different style of offenses. That is why they hired Ken Dorsey. They are going to create an offense similar to the offense Watson ran in Houston and the offense they ran in Buffalo.
The browns organization ( Berry & Stephanski) can detect their weakness and hire key important people to help fix the problem. Joe Woods was replaced by Jim Schwartz last year and the defense was great, Dorsey along with Mike Vrabel will make this team well rounded coaching staff.
The all or nothing year for the Waton implies this is last year of his contract, so now the national media is taking the micro approach.
