The former industrial railway, originally designed for transporting the heavy building materials used to construct the dam, now takes adventurous hikers from the valley to 1,860 metres above sea level in next to no time. Oh the original speed is so slow and relaxing. Was thinking this was launching 6000 feet off the side of a mountain. That would be an interesting roller coaster if that were the case.

Hi is this available in early april?
Is this the only solo funicular in Europe? To not have a bi-directional is rather unusual, is it not? Seems like the added cost of a midway bypass track would have been marginal, so why not. The benefit of counter-balancing would have an advantage . Or is there a sister funicular on the other side of the mountain going down to another valley? If there is only one track, what happens to all the cable once it pulls up? Where does it go?
There is no second/sister funicular on the other side. Cable is rolled up at the start point (behind the white shutter visible at 0:21)
