    I just checked it out and the prices on the product are absolutely ridiculous. Around 34 Euro for 500 ml and 60 Euro for 1 Liter for just a spray sealant is NOT okay. Even for half the prices they'd be pretty high in the spray sealant market.

      I’ve noticed that V1 prices have also gone up slightly, Gyeon Cure is over £60 a litre now in the Uk, tempted to pick up some TAC Quartz Max as this is still currently £35 a litre.

    I would have liked to see how the two performed side by side on a panel that was treated with a ceramic coating. I always thought reload was a topper for ceramic coatings. Great review though. Love the content.

    Have 2 full bottles of the reload. After watching so many tests, I have moved on to Griots ceramic spray, and use the TEC582 on every wash as a drying aid. I even use TEC on my uncoated truck that is outside 24/7 and it lasts a long time. Several weeks at least.

    Scott HD have tested the original Reload several times, and compared it to similar products. The original was allways one of the frist product to fail. It unfortunately never held up more than a month, where as a few of the other spray sealants held up over 6 months. This doesen't seem to be one of those products that will get close to that 6 month mark eather.
    I use 2 layers of Carpro C Quartz UK 3.0 on every detail, but I stopped using the original Reload a long time ago, and just spray on Hydro2 instead. It seems to last just as long, and the install is so much simpler.
    Some people complained about the original Reload being difficult to apply, but it appears that the reason was that the car had not been compleatly clean when they applied it. And maby other spray sealents are a bit more forgiving when the car isn't compleatly clean.
    Anyways, thanks for another perfect video, cheers from northen part of Norway

    • @Zwikster
      @Zwikster 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      I am applying 2 coats of cquartz UK 3.0 today and and going to top it with reload only because that's what they recommend since they are designed to go together well. But have also not too impressed with reload durability in the past for our harsh Canadian winters. I have been using soft 99 Fusso coat since it's so damn durable (ScottHD and Dimitri garage test!) but just got a new vehicle and going to fresh ceramic coat it this time. Wish me luck!

    I hope this new version performs better as a topper/added insurance on CQ coatings. The original would diminish and mask the performance of the coating underneath. Customers would call you freaking out their coating had failed!

    • @groundcontrol6876
      @groundcontrol6876 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      If you were having this issue, you're either doing it wrong or the customers aren't maintaining their car properly. I used Reload to top CQUK3.0 and it didn't mask the coat or lead to premature failing. I think it's always a good idea (for those who can) to leave the freshly applied coating to bake out in the sun for a good while (an hour or a few if you have the time). I'd usually do the whole process of detailing and polishing the car for a few days and either coat it in the afternoon/night when I was done (and not top it), left it overnight in the shop to cure for a good 12+ hours, OR if it was one of those that I finished polishing very late, I'd just come over the next day, blow off the dust, IPA wipedown again and coat, finishing touches like wiping the glass again, and by then the sun would be out absolutely MURDERING and I'd take the car out and let it bake the coating for at least an hour, usually several (like 3+, depending on when the owner would be coming to pick it up), then I'd bring the car back in the shop, let it cool off from the A/C in the garage, and then I'd top it. Most people top it immediately after applying the coating and even though the instructions say that you can top it after you're done (an hour after it was applied IIRC, which will have elapsed by the time you're done coating it anyway), but I think this hinders the coating and isn't the best strategy for maximum performance and longevity. When you let it bake under the sun, you can literally feel the difference on how the paint goes from feeling kind of slick, to feeling really grabby. That's the coating curing. When you apply the Reload, it feels super slick. Either way, I've also done it the regular way that everyone does and I haven't had issues of it masking the coating once the Reload diminishes. The slickness just goes away. You sure they're not using fancy soaps or crappy quick detailers or waxes? That can cause issues. I've used other toppers "you're not supposed to" because they're not "ceramic" without issue as well, like Sonax BSD. Just gotta know how you pick em.

    • @badermubaslat4977
      @badermubaslat4977 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@groundcontrol6876 I think it's hard to say if our two versions of reload were the same. There has been at least 4+ versions over 10 years. Calling it Reload 2.0 is a little funny in this regard. However I do agree with you. Lessons were learned. I normally will never let a customer's car leave without curing at least 12+ hours. And no toppers and if the customers can resist, no washing for the first 2 weeks. I find this gives the coating it's best chance of curing 100 percent. As for toppers for coatings that's another discussion for another day.

    • @adblf

    Reload was a lovely product to use but its problem was always durability, or rather lack of durability! To see that the new version is better looking, more hydrophobic and lasts longer is great to see. To me, it's still more of a top drawer QD, when you look at products that look as good but last a lot longer, like Meguiars HCW, which is one of my favourites (applied off label, on dry paint with an applicator and buff).

      I don’t know I have an absolute go to, it just depends what I’m after. So times I just want something quick and nice to use, other times all I’m focused on is looks and sometimes I want something really hydrophobic or longer lasting. That’s why I use different sealants at different times as no one sealant has it all.

  • @JJS432

      Yes I think too much emphasis is placed on durability when it comes to spray sealants and even waxes where if that’s your main concern, a ceramic coating is where you should be headed. For me personally although some good durability is an added bonus, I’m more interested in a nice user experience, slickness for added washing safety, great looks with decent hydrophobicity.

      @CarCraftAutoDetailing  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      It depends what the goal is, that is, speed of application, looks, feel, hydrophobicity, durability or just enjoying the process - I use and like quite a few different ones as no single sealant has it all or is my favourite in every area.

    Reload 1.0 was weakened over time because people didn’t apply it correctly and complained about streaking.
    CarPro have obviously found a way to add more Si02 to 2.0 whilst still making it idiot proof.
    They also planned to release a pro version but that sadly hasn’t happened.

      @CarCraftAutoDetailing  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I haven’t tried it diluted but based on the testing I’ve done and seeing that it’s close to the original in formulation I would assume it would work just as well diluted.

    • @paulreichelt1259
      @paulreichelt1259 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      To help minimize the chance of streaking i take my "application " microfiber and get it wet but not completely wet , then put it in the washing machine on spin cycle .
      It comes out just damp enough, spray 1-2 sprays of Reload and off you go.

    • @CarCraftAutoDetailing
      @CarCraftAutoDetailing  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I still think Sonax Brilliant Shine is great but it’s not the nicest application around and it’s also not all that slick. Meguiars HCW is also great in my opinion, but again some seem to struggle with the application and also don’t seem to get the best durability. But for me (Nova aside lol) I really like those two. If you want to try a liquid sealant and looks is at the top of your list and you don’t mind a slightly sticky wipe off, the new Scholl Concepts W6 Black looks absolutely amazing.

      I prefer suede cloths because they tend to have more slip and less friction than microfibre and I’ve never used more than 30ml even when doing large 4x4s like Land Cruisers and Range Rovers 25ml is about the most I’ve used

When u apply the coating to a suede cloth, for the first application do u do a couple of lines of evo to prime the cloth? Do u then apply to say a 1m2 area, buff off and then reapply to the cloth for the next section? How do u know if u are apply too much or too little product to the applicator? Ive tried looking for this but cant seem to find that info. Regards

    Hi,Sandro
    How is reload different to hydro2

    • @CarCraftAutoDetailing
      @CarCraftAutoDetailing  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hydro2 has a wet surface spray on and rinse off touch-less application, tends to be a little more chemical and environmental resistant and is diluted 1:6 for use.
      Reload is used undiluted, has a typical spray and wipe application, is super slick and tends to add more gloss and saturation.

      It can be used on glass, just make sure it’s perfectly level for visibility/safety reasons - sometimes wringing out a damp cloth to do a wipe can help get the glass crystal clear. Alternatively Carpro have just released Clarify Phobic which could be a better option on glass specifically:

    I don't know why, but after 7 days after I applied the reload and washed it with reset shampoo, the reload almost disappeared (ps. car has the finest reserve ceramic protection that weakened after it was reapplied)

    • @FluppKey
      @FluppKey ปีที่แล้ว

      I would say that Reload just doesn‘t bond as good on a ceramic coating as on unprotected clear coat but it also was pretty much gone for my non ceramic coated paintwork after maybe 7 days. It‘s a major disappointment plus a major ripoff considering the ridiculous price tag and that‘s coming from a CarPro fan.

    • @CarCraftAutoDetailing
      @CarCraftAutoDetailing  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      From what I know, Reload is still one of the best selling spray sealants to this day, so I think not messing with it too much and just giving it a nice overall bump may have been a good choice for Carpro rather than completely changing it and risking alienating the loyal fans.
