James Yeager, I believe, has done everything for what he believes was right. The same goes for John Lovell. It’s a shame that James is finally fighting a fight that he can’t win. This video will be a beautiful memorial, and a reminder of the time before the fights we will be fighting a few years from now. I for one, will be praying for James, John, and all the other great fighters we owe an urepayable debt to. It's so impressive seeing that level of humility in human beings, especially facing down his own mortality. It's best if we embrace our eventual death early on. Lost my dad a year ago. I was 26. I tried to ignore it before that because dad and I had gone through a lot and I always tried to be positive for him I guess. With him gone, I'm a lot more melancholy, or stoic I suppose (not really sad per se), about the whole thing. I chose not to take the cowards way out when he went, so now it's just living life out until I go there by some other means.

@@peternorth1721 if he with utter certainty has a terminal illness that is both unrecoverable and lethal and has a very limited time to continue living
Then he, Yeager as 2 options, obviously there is more but in this case, in this simple dichotomy, its either fight a war that has some value to the west or lay down and rest with the proximity of his family
I know I would pick family and go in peace, but I would be lying If I didn't also think that fighting one last time, with yeager's talents ofc, to go in a blaze of glory is an equally acceptable way to go to me, as either way his family is gonna be without a father, so he is gonna be remembered as the man who passes peacefully with his family around him? Or a man who didn't go down without one last fight?

Since we are talking about it. There is only one time James made me mad. I was filming a video at SHOT that he crashed. I had some people keeping the crowd out of the way while we did the spot. One of those people was my dad. Of course those two are the two that clashed. I didn’t brief anyone on the possibility that this is something we do. There was a small physical and verbal exchange between them that I had to quickly resolve. Afterward I introduced them and it was all good. When I informed my dad that James had ALS he wept, something I have seen only a few times in my life.

The hard part for the communities who have any type of disability is the aspect of getting out there and talking about it. I started training because of James Yeager, did all my training at Tactical Response. It is because of this man that I have been able to have the mindset and walk the path I do. This is devastating news, i’m heartbroken. All i can say is thank you James for all the knowledge you have passed on.
