    This is so SO helpful! As a FTM I am embarrassed to admit I really didn’t know about these things especially social interaction with peers

    Great topic...I was just telling myself that we need to socialize with other kids his age...he is mostly around his older cousins and they are girls 5+ and even though he is learning from them he still needs male friends lol 😀

    How do you do socialization with covid ..

    • @WalkieTalkieSpeechTherapy
      @WalkieTalkieSpeechTherapy  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Socialization with concerns about Covid is proving quite the challenge. I have heard of some families creating agreements with others to limit their outside interaction and socialize only with one another. For the older kids we're seeing some great work with virtual socialization.

    What can we do if we can not so
    Socialize with other kids or people during the pandemic. My grandson is 2 yrs old and his parents don't want him around anybody until he is able to be vaccinated. Only a month ago have I been able to work with him and visit with him through a window. Please advice how I can help him. Thank you.

      Thank you for watching. Definitely speak with his pediatrician about any concerns. Things like virtual videos are a great way to talk to each other.

    I think you just pin pointed why my 18 month old doesn’t talk very much. He’s not around any children unfortunately but we are moving back home soon😊 I stay home but I will be putting him back in day care two days a week I hope this will help. But I really have a hard time getting him to focus even reading a short book is troublesome. He can seem to pay attention more than 3 to four minutes. I bought all the Karen Katz pop up books and all he wants to do is destroy them. I do try to make it fun but he is so high energy. Any tips, he doesn’t say a lot of single words but says short phrases like “didn’t do” “dropped it” then single words mostly dad, this, no no. And he will not call me mom or any version of it. He has before but only when he is sick or desperate for something.

      HI! Sounds like you are really trying. He is young...3 to four minutes of attention for a book is pretty good! And yay for socialization. I have tons of videos on here to help. Songs might be the ticket for him. Check out these: th-cam.com/video/uDhDhMsfLn4/w-d-xo.html

      Walkie Talkie Speech Therapy Inc. thanks I did try the horsey song and he yells ahhh to do it again. I’ve been trying to give him a chance to speak instead of anticipating his every need but instead of words or sounds he just screams. Like when I try to get him his cup or a snack as soon as he sees it he screams and reaches until he gets it. How can I get him to calm down and not necessarily talk but at least make a noise like a letter sound?

    I think that's what my boy missed due to Covid, the interaction of being in Daycare playing with other kids. I have 4 boys ages, 17,13,11, and my 3 yr old and I never had a problem with speach delay with my 3 older boy, but now with 3 yr old I had to find help because he speak very small, not much words. So he is getting help from a speach therapist once a week. I have spent so much time with him in the past week trying to play with him I made a learning binder to him, any other tips that u can give me to help my little man. Thanks in advance.

    My lo is very friendly toddler but because of covid kids don't play with each other anymore. If I stop him not to socialize because of covid then he will get the idea that socialization is not good. That's why even during this pandemic I am sending my son to playschool just because he needs to learn socialization and talk.

    I feel dumb for asking this but what’s the earliest one can ask these questions? Because my baby is about to be 1 soon and so far he just stares at me like 😐

    • @WalkieTalkieSpeechTherapy
      @WalkieTalkieSpeechTherapy  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Midori, little ones usually say their first words between 10-14 months. Typically speaking around 2-6 words by 1 year. If no words at least some babbling and attempts at communication.

    Hi my 4years boy doesn't speak.I am also doing speech and occupational therapy.but no result were found what should I do plz told me I am very needful

    • @WalkieTalkieSpeechTherapy
      @WalkieTalkieSpeechTherapy  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi! Thanks for reaching out. Great job getting your child into therapy! I'm sorry to hear you say that there have been no results. I encourage you to ask your therapists very directly how they feel your child is doing and to tell you specifically what the progress has been. Your child may not have made the progress you expected as the parent but any progress is a good thing no matter how small it is. Sometimes therapy progress can be slow but the important thing is to stay positive. Also ask the therapists specifically what you can be doing during the week to help your child. I hope this helps. Stay tuned and sign up on the email list for more tips and tricks. walkietalkiespeechtherapy.com/emaillist/

    My two years old, she is not talking at all. She repeated me when I said Papa Nana Tata but just that. Before she can say few words when 18 months but she never said it again. She understand only when I ask her shoes and where is the remote to turn on tv for her, only the thing that she like she will look for it. She won’t point when she wants something, she pull me to get something for her when she couldn’t get it. When i called her name sometimes respond and sometimes not. She does do eye contact when we play with her, but sometimes when I talked to her she just won’t respond or either eye contact. So worry about her
