So basically just turn off all the features I've paid for? Might aswel just buy a normal watch. Id rather keep them on and top up the charge while I'm getting ready in the morning.
Great video! I did some battery tests on my Galaxy 5 pro lte. Scenario 1: Minimal settings + AOD 1. Default Watch face 2. Always on display (AOD) 3. Brightness set to less than 50% 4. Arm gesture to activate display 5. Everything else set to OFF This resulted in 30% battery loss in 24 hrs. Estimated 100% loss in 3.3 days. Scenario 2: Scenario 1 settings plus the following: 1. Wifi on 2. Data (LTE function) on 3. Bluetooth on 4. Location on Gives 37% battery loss in 24 hrs. Estimated 100% loss in 2.7 days. Scenario 3: Scenario 2 but with AOD off. Gives 28% battery loss in 24 hrs. Estimated 100% loss in 3.6 days. Between Scenario 2 and 3, the AOD uses 25% battery life. By controlling setting variables like above we can make better real world estimates of battery life. If I set notifications on and made use of any health functionality then battery life would be WAY LESS than the best case Scenario of 3.6 days.
Yeah, it doesn't seem to make a big difference in the long run eh? I have lte on auto, aod off, wifi off, Bluetooth on, message and phone calls on, sound on, brightness 50%, gps on and right now my battery stats are at 22% = 2d21h since last charge 14h0m left. I'm impressed so far and lte doesn't drain the battery I'm assuming cause if your phones around it doesn't use lte. It's only if you leave your phone behind.
I have pixel minimal watch face. There is huge amount of options when you buy pro. With this watch face with 5 indicators like weather, steps, UV, heart rate, altitude with lte automatic my🔋 holds 2 days. For me is enough.
Thank you for this video! after a whole year your video covers so many tricks and tips no one else has ever mentioned in one video! I got subscribed of course!
I have got similar settings but there are no 4 days of battery. That is weird. How often do you charge your watch? Do you do it just when battery is under 20% or any time during the day?
I believe there may be an issue with my watch's battery as it does not seem to hold a charge for more than a day and a half, even when in power-saving mode it only lasts around 2 days and 3-4 hours. I have tried all the recommended adjustments but it has not improved the battery life. Additionally, I have manually turned off all health sensors to conserve power, etc... but it hasn't made a difference.
I'd go through your settings... all of them. If you turn off everything but the watch and still have issues, I'd contact Samsung or the place you bought it. Mine only lasted a day with lots of things on when I first got it, yet I had a lot of active apps running in the background. Try closing everything running in the background as well. Those can eat up a lot of battery life. Learning to turn things off when you aren't using them is important. That doesn't mean you can't use them, yet having a lotta active apps running can sap your battery pretty quick. You can have some active things going on, even all the time, yet it will shorten battery life. Some of these are the compass, heart rate, ECG, phone, etc. A bright watch face can sap battery life as well... Think of them like running a flashlight on a battery. The more lights you turn on on the same battery will shorten your battery life. I hope this is helpful. I just bought mine, and am learning.
4 days 13 hours battery estimating! that's huge man. Mine never says more than 3 days and a half and I'm using same settings as yours. Battery lottery.... Thanks for this great video anyway!
Great video! I just tweaked my settings, and am on the charger, so we'll see how this goes. I'm guessing my battery life will be much better now. Thank you so much! Very helpful! I have my screen go black with time only when I'm not actively using it, but keep a photo on it, so I can enjoy that as well when I wake it up, but only while I'm using my phone, so it's still available. I'll see how it goes. Turning off Bluetooth you won't be able to use locate your phone or watch from your phone (or perhaps WiFi???) I'm still learning my watch. It would be great to have a setting where you could close apps if you go to the home screen. Is there such a setting? Thanks again! I'll see how this goes.
Honest Question, I have the 5 Lte version and I deliver packages all day. I had greyscale on, a simple black background with white numbers watchface, and eventually power saving mode. Is there anyway I can get the battery to last around 10hrs of constant music use. Not Spotify or TH-cam music, music I've downloaded. The most I've gotten was 5 hours before I went from 100% to 17% to which I had to turn on watch only. It doesn't have to last all day, just enough to get me through the work hours. I appreciate any advice you guys give me
you are probably pushing it. trouble is despite Samsung marketing the watch is never gonna replace a phone or dedicated music player, it just doesn't have the battery capacity.
Here's the issue. 1. My watch face has complications on them, and my heart rate monitor is on full time. 2. Bluetooth, wifi, and network are enabled. Using these settings, I have 70% or more at the end of the day. So, the complications and health monitors are not a drain.. Yesterday, I got sick and tired of my watch interrupting my phones bluetooth connection to my work vehicle. (a few times a day, it disconnects). So, I turned off Bluetooth, and only that one thing changed.. I had 6% battery last night! So, turning Bluetooth OFF killed my battery? Was it forcing LTE, yes most likely. So, how do I get my watch to stop interrupting the connection between my phone and. Y work vehicle (2023 Mercedes Metris) Turning off Bluetooth defeats the purpose of having a watch that receives my phone's notifications through Bluetooth!
that's whack. I haven't found any such issues with my Peugeot, phone bluetooth to car still works seamlessly, doesn't disconnect. Thinking maybe it's your Merc? Maybe it's trying to auto connect to the watch or something? I'd look at that angle too. If you have connect watch to car, then disconnect it. There should be no need to watch to car if you have phone to car.
Yo, great video, just got a watch5 pro myself. I think I'd already sussed out most of these tricks but I gleaned a few little morsels from the video. This would have been useful when I first got the watch! Like your choice of band, funny thing I was looking at the same black and gold metal band as the all black one I got is too plain. Subbed for more great content.
Nice video, I like all your tips but one. Closing the recent apps will use more battery on CPU to reopen them, while keeping them opened on the RAM memeory thtat's active anyway doesn't require more processing power to drain the battery more.

Yes! I've seen your comparison video with the newer update and so this new video is perfect 🤌🏿 timing to prolong the battery life of the gw4. The pixel watch is coming out in a few weeks, so I may switch up depending on how the community feels. But 1st gen devices are always finicky.
so... you tellin me in order to get 45 days of battery on my SMARTWATCH (that i definitely bought exactly for the SMART features) i have to turn everything off and use it as a normal digital watch? 😅 Jokes aside - i got watch 5... battery dropped to 99% the moment i disconnected it from charger... and that was with with dark watch face 3 complications and only bluetooth on. The battery died before my workday end and i immediately went back to the shop and replaced it... with Huawei GT3 which gives me 11 days with all functions activated

Galaxy watch 5 pro is not only a watch it does a whole lot of things like the smartphone that all depends on battery. Getting few days of battery life out of it is fair enough.
I had a t-mobile advanced tech for only smart watches tell me that if you turn off your LTE for an extended time (7 to 10 days or more) t-mobile will deactivate your LTE service completely. You'll have to call them to establish LTE again.
