Hey everyone in today's video I take you on a tour of a bunch of abandoned homes that were once thriving with life. These homes at some point left and then have since sat abandoned and unkept. For obvious reasons abandoned houses usually have a reduced price due to decay and the need of renovation and these homes are exactly that. Although I thought these were the best abandoned houses for under $50,000 dollars and most of these are easily salvageable. if you enjoy this video please like comment and subscribe!

Two things you need to watch out for in an Older home
If they house was built before 1979 -- there is a strong possibility there is lead paint and it will need remediation
and if the house was built before 1940, there is a strong possibility the house has Knob-and-Tube wiring and will need to be rewired -- may also have fuse box instead of breakers.
Some people think K&T wiring is okay -- but it does have significant drawbacks, such as no grounding conductor (ie not ground fault interrupters) , not able to carry modern loads, the wires sag over time, and adding insulation around K&T creates a fire hazard .. Worse is that many home owners insurance companies will not insure homes with K&T and the ones that do will charge extra.
don't forget the possibility of asbestos ceilings, walls or insulation

my favorite conspiracy theory is the government wanted the lead paint gone so they could spy in your house. lead made that hard to do.

@@608Ralphywell, if you've never experienced a haunting, your skepticism is to be expected. You'd be surprised how many homes sell so low just because they are deemed haunted. Some because of a death, others because it may need to be a complete tare down
Who says ghosts are bad or evil? WHO knows, you might get new friends with the house deal! Then, no home alarm necessary as the ghosts would protect their/your home! 😊

Am I wrong in assuming everything you see on lists like this have already been passed on by teams of investors and realtors? I've always thought any time a home is priced below the value of the land it sits on there are more issues than most are prepared to deal with, the total cost of fixing it up or bulldozing and rebuilding is likely to exceed just buying another home in the same neighborhood.

Most likely, cash.
Remodelling these different types of houses would make a great television series. Have you shown this video to any tv companies? The diversity of locations and differrent sizes of the properties would add interest. Modernise one, restore another. I'd love to watch such a series. Put this on a dizen discs and send them out to the networks.

Can't imagine the renovation costs of the repairs to bring it up to code. "these are easily salvageable" to what costs and location?
This in U.S. You can buy similar in Portugal for 10,000 Euros. Made of stone not wood, so much cheaper.
Most of them have rotten a way and need way more investment to be in living condition than new ones...

How many are haunted and do they all owe back taxes, if so how much, and were there crimes committed in these homes. Most do need serious renovation.
Would be nice to give an opportunity for the people that have no jobs . They can buy it and find a job near by . Does how I think can help the economy and the people that need a home to live .
Sick homes make you sick for sure. I've remodeled a number of these properties. Not recommending the process to the unknowledgeable.

Has anyone noticed all of them have foundation problems in order for the city or the state to sign off on a foundation it's got to be done by a professional that means you'll be paying quite a bit of money for the permit as well as the professional to do it unless you know what you're doing and how to do it your self,

Back Taxes? You won't be able to do much with many of these houses - chances are the local hysterical society will prevent you from doing anything and watching to make sure you use the same type of wood, etc for just about anything you do.
