Good stuff. Yup mistakes happen, even the "Pros" have their share. Too late now but really do prefer door handles to knobs, so much easier to open when hands are full. Really coming together. Keep 'em coming.
A real man owns up to his mistakes. 👍 Not a problem you can’t solve. Awesome build,, can’t wait to see what you’re going to create in the new shop. Perkins Brothers Builders on TH-cam also use Lexel sealant for a lot of things. ❤ Proud of the life you and Angela have built for your family. ❤
Fantastic Sam, I've followed the project from the start and can only say how impressed by the standard of your work I am. Well done, you can be very proud of the achievement. Looking forward to seeing you fill it up now.
I'm a spaz; so, working with flashing tape is a carnival ride. Not! 🙄 The door looks great! You kids with your fancy tools for keying new knobs... back in my day we had to disassemble the entire shabang and fiddle with tumblers. 🤗 Merry Christmas Sam, Angela, and the boys! I hope 2024 is kind to you!!! Big hugs and big love! ✌️💖🙏🤜
Merry Christmas to Sam and your family!! Good job! Mistakes happen to learn from. Goes to show that no matter how detailed a person can be that you can admit and learn from your mistakes
Great way to finish the year mate. Or at least Christmas. Lock up stage. Been a great build series. Have a great Christmas and new year to you and your family Sam. See you next year mate. Cheers Robert. 😊
👍🏻 Sam that’s what I admire about you, honesty good bad and ugly truth. Can’t wait to build my shop, your shop build videos will be my go to help. Merry Christmas 👍🏻
Well Sam…. The fact you show your mistakes is one reason I love your channel! And I totally see how and why that happened ! I soooo would have done this myself! Im glad you are ahead of me on your build as Im taking lots of mental notes to help me avoid mistakes and all toughs great hacks you have! Also wanted to wish you and your family a very merry Christmas!!!
potentially can make same mistake when doing interior doors but not as big a deal may even end up being a positive for air circulation as circulation necessary for heating and cooling if have central hvac
We miss seeing your family on these videos. You said the tape you were using is in your thinking the best for you. If it is the best or not, it is your building, your door, and not any of our business. If you are happy that is all that counts.
probably a good idea to testfit the door in the hole to make sure it actually fit before adding the tape and silicone , if only to prevent making a mess or allowing the silicone to dry too mush by the time you unpacked the door to place it think you forgot showing filling the gaps around the frame with expanding foam to get it air- bug- and watertight , can still do that before walling in the inside though curious to see wat you going to use inside , think (thin?) osb would be best as it can take a little more abuse compared to plasterboard (things like ramming youre toolcart against the wall or stacking long pieces of lumber against it ) , eazier to mount stuff on too as you can screw smaller hung items straight intoo it and dont need to find studs
Sam do you have future plans to relocate those solar panels into the shop roof? Perfect place for them and an opportunity to add a couple more. It’s only money right.
I'm not a fan of roof mounts because of the difficulty in maintenance, cleaning and inspection. I like ground mount arrays and have plans to build a new one after the workshop work is completely done. I have a stack of 20 solar panels that I want to put to use! :)
Hi Sam! Nice job installing the door, oopsies or not! I have a question you may not answer, but Im going to ask anyway! Lol! When are you and Angela going to put up the new siding on the trailor?
Sam, are you going to install a mini split unit in that shop? There are the ones that heat and cool. I installed a York in my garage and man it's been great.
I'm concerned that people that want to get into houses can get a rekey tool,if they know where to get that and be able to make a key for a house. Maybe I don't know what I'm talking about😂
i love it when there's a window right next to a dead bolt and a thumb turn lock 🤣🤣
As I heard someone once say, a true craftsman is not one who does things right the first time but one who can fix his own mistakes
Being real is more important than anything.
Sam thanks for sharing your mistake. Thing like that happen to the best of us. Simple fix looks beautiful.
I won't tell anyone you messed up, your secrets safe with me😉
Great I love the laid back attitude
Good stuff. Yup mistakes happen, even the "Pros" have their share. Too late now but really do prefer door handles to knobs, so much easier to open when hands are full. Really coming together. Keep 'em coming.

Looks good. If you don't make mistakes, then you're not doing anything
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year
Nice job Sam!! 👍🏻👍🏻
Merry Christmas to you and your family! ✌🏼❤️🎄
"Paint and caulk"...... You had me rolling. It's coming together quite nicely.
Smash to fit, Paint to match! I always say. :)
Hahaha I love it! :)
Good job. Looking forward to watching the inside take form.❤❤❤❤
Merry Christmas

🎉🎉 This guy is too amazing learning so much.😂😂🎉🎉🎉
Simple fix looking good. Merry Christmas.
One of the better door installs with the flashing tape I have seen. Thanks.
Fantastic Sam, I've followed the project from the start and can only say how impressed by the standard of your work I am. Well done, you can be very proud of the achievement. Looking forward to seeing you fill it up now.
"Measure it twice, cut it once, measure it once, cut it twice", it 'always' works like this, Murphy's law !!!!!
Thanks for sharing! I have made this same mistake. You still did a assume job! Keep up the great work 👍!
Thank you for another good video, Sam 👍

You make it look easy!
Great job as always.
Merry Christmas ❤❤❤❤
Good job Sam , merry Christmas.
I enjoy your videos. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year
Looks great! Merry Christmas!
Whooo Hooo! More Samcraft for Christmas!
Here in the UK we have a saying “ an expert is a person who has made more mistakes than anyone else and learnt from it” , Merry Xmas .
I have really enjoyed watching your shop build. Looks great
Merry Christmas to Sam and your family!! Good job! Mistakes happen to learn from. Goes to show that no matter how detailed a person can be that you can admit and learn from your mistakes
Love your videos and enjoy watching. May the lord bless and protect you and your family. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and your family

Caulk & paint to make it is what it ain't... love it! 🙂
That is okay sam I’m maintenance man and we all make mistakes.l have been doing this for over 50 years. And still learning keep going kid
Added tip. Go over that flashing tape with something like a ZIP system roller.
Very nice
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️ Merry Christmas you guys♥️
👍🏻 Sam that’s what I admire about you, honesty good bad and ugly truth.

Another beautiful job
That a great shop , but I would have put all plug in at 42” to 48” off the floor because of tool boxes, tables machine being against the wall
Merry Christmas to you and your family.
Great recovery Sam!
Sam, Merry Christmas to you and the gang and thank you for a year of great content.
Sam thanks for another amazing instructional show! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and your family from our family! 🇺🇸
Mint 👍👌👍
sam as a ex construction worker id recommend on the deadbolt striker plate swap those screws out for 3" grk screws for security
potentially can make same mistake when doing interior doors but not as big a deal
may even end up being a positive for air circulation as circulation necessary for heating and cooling if have central hvac
Thanks for sharing that lock set, it was awesome!! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and your family
Very nice work,it looks great!👍🏻
Sam I your way family has a good Christmas 🎄 and a safe New Year's Eve 😀
Are you going to put some screen under the eves of your roof to keep squirrels and other crawling varments out?
Merry Christmas 🎄🎁🎅🎁🎄
You need a room off of the building for your air compressor and your dust collector
Merry Christmas yall!

The family does not regularly appear on this channel. That's our family channel Green Acre Homestead. :)
I know of the channel difference, but we still miss seeing them. There hasn't been much activity lately on the other channel.@@Samcraftcom
Because I've been building this entire structure... I am an one man production crew. No one else films or edits the videos.
Sam- did you ever consider connecting the old shop to new shop? Or, are you repurposing the old shop?
probably a good idea to testfit the door in the hole to make sure it actually fit before adding the tape and silicone , if only to prevent making a mess or allowing the silicone to dry too mush by the time you unpacked the door to place it
think you forgot showing filling the gaps around the frame with expanding foam to get it air- bug- and watertight , can still do that before walling in the inside though
curious to see wat you going to use inside , think (thin?) osb would be best as it can take a little more abuse compared to plasterboard (things like ramming youre toolcart against the wall or stacking long pieces of lumber against it ) , eazier to mount stuff on too as you can screw smaller hung items straight intoo it and dont need to find studs
Thanks Sam

Sam why didn't you make the door open out? save floor space in the shop?
😊
Hi Sam! Nice job installing the door, oopsies or not!
I have a question you may not answer, but Im going to ask anyway! Lol! When are you and Angela going to put up the new siding on the trailor?
Is the missing paint along side the door frame from peeling off the tape?
Sam, are you going to install a mini split unit in that shop? There are the ones that heat and cool. I installed a York in my garage and man it's been great.
Thats what they have in their living quarters.
Are these videos way behind or are you able to wear that in December?!
The videos are a bit behind reality, but today (12/24/2023) was sunny and 68F :)
you know iv been here the hole time why your familey not there but im not sure i will be here any more with out you telling why
This is not our family channel. This is Samcraft and will 99% only be me on the videos... as it always has been.
Welp better tear down the building and start over. 😂
I have been chuckling over your comment for the last few minutes! It's right up my alley on humor. :)
@@Samcraftcom it was impossible to resist the temptation.
💖💖👍👍💖💖
Did the tape take the paint off around the door?
Don't think he's painted yet.
@@howardwilliams8993 Sorry, I meant it looks like it pulled the tan primer off the plywood
