Yummy. My grandmother used to make triffles. I'd spend the whole time watching her and sampling the ingredients as she put one together. Nice memories.
I made this for my daughter's baby shower and it was devoured people are still talking about it so I'm making it again this weekend for her birthday thanks 👍
Okay ! I've been searching the web this morning looking for a trifle recipe , and i got disappointed when i didn't find a recipe by you ,, i mean the classic one .. Few hours later and BOOM Laura uploads a beautiful trifle recipe .. So thank you so much Laura for reading my mind
This is Healthy& really nice( her take)...But typically u have Sponge cake, with maybe half a cup of Sherry( contreu Liqueor wld work aswell) u add ur fruit& jelly mix( and place in the Fridge for a few hrs to set) then ur Layer of Custard (cooled down of course) and then add the layer of Whipped cream&perhaps a few more pieces of fruit and a sprinkling of Almond nuts and then to the Fridge again..But as I said Laura made her version which was also really nice!
I had a few relatives coming over yesterday and I had tried this out, it was amazing!! turned out better than i had expected!!...............Laura Vitale you are officially my go to recipe channel!!!!!
Trifle is a popular dessert originated (?) from the UK. To serve it just simply scoop it out. If you set it in the fridge long enough it might hold it's shape slightly, but getting a little messy is inevitable. I think Laura didn't show that part because she's probably going to serve hers to guests and if she scooped a huge portion of it and destroyed it, it would probably be rude to serve it later.
Omg!!! Yum!! You know I have to watch ur videos everyday be it a new vid or past vids. It jus makes me happy. Thanks laura. You are definitely an inspiration. God bless xxx
I love trifles! They are the perfect dessert, because you have the hearty pound cake, the smooth custard, and the tart and sweet berries! I make a savory Caprese trifle that people oooh and aaah over each time I make it. It's always fun to surprise people with something that looks sweet, but is actually savory! :)
Laura if you do any types of trifle plz cut it out and show it so that we can have a idea how to serve it so plz do that in your upcoming videos thank you
A lot of trifles have Sherry in them! I bet if you added just a bit of either Cointreau, Grand Marnier, or Triple Sec to the jam (for part of the orange juice) after melting it in the microwave, it would really soak into the pound cake, and perk it up as well!! Love the idea of the lemon curd added to the whipped cream! The finished dessert is almost as pretty as you are, Laura! Thanks for sharing, Sherrey in Southern Ontario ❤
Wow that's looks really nice, especially with the fresh fruits instead of canned fruits, only thing I would add is some sherry on the sponge cake, other than that I will be trying your recipe :)
I just made this for my family and they really liked it. The only thing I would do different is not to mix the whip cream with the lemon curd. Getting bits of tart lemon curd each bite is really nice.
hello laura! i hope you read this comment... i'm from switzerland and 15 years old and i'd like to share one of my favourite recipes with you (it's a swiss dish named Älplermagronen which means something like macaroons from the alpes) boil the water cook some potatoes add some pasta (macaroons) when the pasta is done put the water away (sorry i don't know the exact word) add some cream and parmesan and spice it with salt pepper and a lot of nutmeg in the same time cut like three or four onions add one or two tablespoons of flour roast the onions in butter and if they're brown sprinkle it over the pasta and now you are done!!! i just wanted to say that you have an amazing channel and i made a lot of recipes from you and i got a lot better in Englisch since i started watching your videos... you're amazing!!!!!
I made this one last Christmas dinner and everyone was raving how scrumptious it was. They never heard what Trifle was so it was new to them. By the way, instead of lemon curd I used mixed berries yogurt.
This recipe looks delicious and I'm planning on making it for the 4th of July. I noticed that you had your lemon curd in a canning jar with a canning lid. There are great plastic lids available for using canning jars when you are not going to actual can with them. You can find them on the internet by searching for "Plastic Canning Jar Lids". I've been using them for years.
being whipped cream did not melt, so it becomes thin after a while ..you just have mixed whipped cream, have an idea I can use the whipped cream does not melt after a while? And thankyou for the recipe very Nice!
I'm from Malaysia, it's 4:10AM right now and I'm drooling at this video. OTL I need to get a life. ;w; Btw Laura, I know you don't like to make things fancy schmancy but I just want to say that you make your food look soooooo good even without all the decorations, you don't need to worry about presentation, really. Keep up the awesome work! And great job too, Joe. Can't forget the man behind the camera. XD
This looks really delicious. Do you have any tips for organizing printed recipes from the internet? I have put some of my recipes in a binder, but still not very organized and lots more recipes to file! Thanks.
Hey laura! Can you show us how to make a naked cake(unfrosted cake with alternating layers of cake and filling, usually adorned with fresh fruit and powdered sugar) ? ? It seems simple enough but I'd love to know any tips and tricks on making it look seamless, as well as your version of the filling that goes in between the layers. Thank you!
Laura I'm a little confused. I went on he website to get the website to get the recipe and it says to add powdered sugar and vanilla to the cream, but here you just added the lemon curd. What do I do?
Hey!! Am not very familiar with making desserts, but would really love to try this trifle. Can anyone tell me if I can substitute for this triflw table cream instead of heavy whipping cream? Would doing so, ruin the good taste and look of the dessert? Any help is sooo appreciated
I don’t like lemon at all, so I think I’ll use a cream cheese/sugar/vanilla/whipped cream filler. I also think I like angel food better..lol But I love how you used and mixed three berries, instead of just the 🍓 strawberries. I’m definitely making a berry trifle now for the 4th of July! 🇺🇸Thanks for sharing! ;)
I think a delicious homemade pound cake would be key for this recipe. Store bought versions tend to add some nasty preservatives.Your italian pound cake would be so perfect for this!

I made this for my daughter's baby shower and it was devoured people are still talking about it so I'm making it again this weekend for her birthday

My mum, who passed away 9 years ago, made the best trifle ever. Miss her.

This looks just wonderful .. love the way you used the lemon curd. This will be the next trifle at my next dinner party. Loving your channel.
How do u get it out of the container, without being messy
it's inevitable
It is messy. There's no way to have a neat trifle
That's looks really good but how do you serve that? Just use a big scoop and scoop it out?
Omg Laura! You.. are.. a .. GENIUS! I'm definitely doing this either for my mom or my mother in law! This is perfect for this mothers day :)
Amazing recipe bursting with flavour!
I love trifles! They are the perfect dessert, because you have the hearty pound cake, the smooth custard, and the tart and sweet berries!

You just spoon it out and put it in a bowl lol thats about it..........
Yeh thanks but still I want to see how laura serve!!! Her way of serving
It's one of those desserts that doesn't look that pretty in the individual bowl, just in the big bowl.
Squish true.. it's all mushy BUT tasty.. so it should be presented first in the big bowl and cut it in front of your guests.
laura plz can tacos
Laura how do you serve this up to the guests. Is it with huge spoon?
I made this for a friend's bridal shower. It was a hit!!!! Thanks Laura. Love your recipes!
It's always a pleasure for me to watch your videos although I don't cook all of these but you gave me lots of inspirations. Thank you Laura!
Here in Australia, trifle is a traditional Christmas time desert and is made a little different to this!

Wow that's looks really nice, especially with the fresh fruits instead of canned fruits, only thing I would add is some sherry on the sponge cake, other than that I will be trying your recipe :)
Laura PLEASE do a "cake in a jar" video!! You cook the best and I know I'll get the best from following you!!
I just made this for my family and they really liked it. The only thing I would do different is not to mix the whip cream with the lemon curd. Getting bits of tart lemon curd each bite is really nice.

hello laura!
i hope you read this comment... i'm from switzerland and 15 years old and i'd like to share one of my favourite recipes with you (it's a swiss dish named Älplermagronen which means something like macaroons from the alpes)
boil the water
cook some potatoes
add some pasta (macaroons)
when the pasta is done put the water away (sorry i don't know the exact word)
add some cream and parmesan and spice it with salt pepper and a lot of nutmeg
in the same time cut like three or four onions
add one or two tablespoons of flour
roast the onions in butter and if they're brown sprinkle it over the pasta
and now you are done!!!
i just wanted to say that you have an amazing channel and i made a lot of recipes from you and i got a lot better in Englisch since i started watching your videos... you're amazing!!!!!

Question. Do you guys eat the mints garnish? Sorry, I don't know because we do not normally have mint in my place. :)
Also, how do you serve it?

When you're whipping the cream add the sugar and vanilla
This looks quite nice but I'm not sure that it would catch on in England. Can't have a trifle without actual jelly and custard!
Yes, I still love the traditional English Trifle. It was a good try on this one though
And Sherry!
Hey!! Am not very familiar with making desserts, but would really love to try this trifle. Can anyone tell me if I can substitute for this triflw table cream instead of heavy whipping cream? Would doing so, ruin the good taste and look of the dessert? Any help is sooo appreciated
