Been following you for 2 years. The Pacific Northwest is certainly beautiful. I’ve traveled there but not to sail. Look forward to future videos. Enjoy your new home port!!
Good morning Bill, thanks, I’m looking forward to traveling in the Puget Sound. Whenever I came south it seemed like I didn’t have enough time to really explore and enjoy its beauty. I think I’m going to really like living on Bainbridge Island. I’ll see you through my videos next season.
Your video left me feeling sad about the end of an era, but your attitude toward your next phase in life is commendable. I hope Bainbridge is as good for you as Orcas was. Bummer about your old outboard dying and the effect it had on your trip, but you made the best of it. Looking forward to the 2024 sailing season!
Hi Larry, it was a sad day pulling into West Sound at the end of my trip and I was a little sadder on the drive to Bainbridge. I must admit that living on Bainbridge isn’t that bad, plus I’m looking forward to exploring some new locations that I couldn’t fit in on my travels south. We’ll have some good trips next season.
Good morning Dale, thanks for continuing to follow my channel. Winter is just settling in and I’m looking forward to springtime and filming my trips. It’s really added to my cruising experience.
Hi Debbie, thanks for the birthday wish and for watching my video. Like always I’m looking forward to traveling the Salish Sea and exploring new locations. If you make a trip to the Salish Sea in your Dana let me know, maybe we could rendezvous for a night.
Hi Phil, thanks for following me during my travels over the Salish Sea. The move has gone smoothly and we’re settling into our new home on Bainbridge Island. I’m looking forward to another fun season and hopefully some entertaining videos of my travels. See you, David
Some unexpected elements in the last cruise of the season. I enjoyed the split screen perspective on your return but found I had to rewind to take it all in. Best wishes for your move and I look forward to more from your new location.
Hi Chris, it was going to be a grand time during my farewell tour out of West Sound, instead it was a small nightmare. After all the nautical miles I put under Tramontana’s keel in the last nine year I’m happy that it didn’t happen on one of my bigger trip to Canada. My move has gone really well and I’m looking forward to exploring and filming new locations in the Puget Sound. Thanks for continuing to follow me, I look forward to hearing from you next season. David
Good luck on Bainbridge Island , great videos. Thank you for all the help on the Salish, this year. I hope our journeys will cross paths at some point . Looking forward to more videos in 2024.
@@davidyoung5321 I was hoping to view you packing up the boat for the season. Is there extra cost for truck and trailer on the ferry ?I gather the mast takes the most length.
@@olivei2484 Hi Olive, thanks for continuing to watch my videos. It does cost more when you take your boat on the ferry. From Anacortes to Orcas with a vehicle and sailboat that are just under 40’ in length and under 13’ in height it costs just under $200 for a round trip ticket. The ferry from Port Townsend to Coupeville is around $50 for a one way trip and the same for the return trip. I am putting together a short video on pulling Tramontana out of the water and the drive to her new home on Bainbridge. Hope to see you on the Salish Sea someday. David
