Hello David. Thank you for sharing all your nice little videos with us all. I have a small 17 foot pocket cruiser myself that i am currently renovating so i will fit my needs. Your videos have been very inspiring for me in my proces with my own boat. Unfortunately my wife has become sick with lounge cancer so it puts things a little on hold. But during the hard days it has been a relieve for me to watch your little films. Thank you for your sharing ;-) And Greetings from Denmark regards Troels
Hi Troels, thank you for letting me know that my videos are inspiring you with your renovation. My heart goes out to you and your family during these difficult times with your wife. May there be sunshine in your heart, David
David following you this morning ! You are such an amazing man living your dream🥰by the way I love the beard love your voice it is so soothing to the soul and love your music playlist also RIP JB his legend will love be on👍🏼
Good morning Connie, thank you for the kind words. I listen to JB almost every day. It was heart breaking waking up to the news of his passing. I’ve traveled thousands of miles on Tramontana with his music for company. I’ll still have his music and my memories of him forever. Loved him and you…D…❤️😎
Hi Russ, Tramontana is a great pocket cruiser that has safely taken me on several fantastic trips. I’m happy that I started sharing my trips on TH-cam. Thank you for watching my channel, David
Great video, David. You're becoming a real pro at making these. So CornDog is back home from Priest Lake and will be getting her end-of-the-season clean-up and winterizing tomorrow. Way too soon, but other activities are taking over this fall. Can't wait to see the rest of this series.
Enjoyed the cruise down to Olympia .. BREAD 🍞?? That’s cool .. Hmm ! Got a recipe ? Does look tasty .. Bowman n Deception Pass are so nice. Looking forward to the continuing start of the Salish 100 Mate. Cheers Nick.
Good morning Nick, Like always thanks for following me. I’ve enjoyed your pencil drawings on Facebook. I’m now on Bainbridge and about to start a new chapter in my cruising life…⛵️😎
I’m so excited to see the rest of this series! And I’m hoping my beautiful M15 Sparrow even makes an appearance. ☺️ David, I would really love to do some cruising with you sometime. I’m in Everett, so close enough to meet up for some sailing at some point. Let’s get in touch, my friend!
Hi Rusty, come Wednesday movers will load our belongings and move us to Bainbridge Island. Tramontana’s home port will be Port Madison on a friends buoy. I’ll put her in the water the first part of May and put her on the trailer the end of September. I’m planning on cruising the South Sound shortly after I launch her. The trip will be two or three weeks. I’ll let you and Don know the date for my spring trip. You guys will be welcome to take part in the trip for a few days or the entire time. At some point I’ll make more trips next season. If May doesn’t work I’ll let you know when I plan another trip.
I’ll see Don at WBF, will you be there? I absolutely will join you in May if I can! ❤ I’m excited you’re moving closer, hopefully we’ll see more of you in the “mid sound”. 😃
great video ,you sure do rack up the miles on the water, wondering how many miles to the gallon for your outboard and those 4 tubes on the life lines stanchions whats in them ,love you to do a quick tour of your boat set up and equipment you have
Hey is anybody here? Thanks for watching my video. I don’t known how far I go on a gallon of gas. It varies depending on the currents. If they are on my bow my mileage is really reduced. On the average I probably go around 70 nautical miles with my three gallon tank. That’s just a guess. The tubes on my stanchions are for my propane and butane canisters. I’ve been busy packing our home on Orcas Island for a move to Bainbridge Island. I’m hoping to make one more trip around September 19th. If I do I’ll make a video on Tramontana’s setup.
@@davidyoung5321 Thanks for info ,now i can decide what size of fuel tank i,ll need once i finish getting all the other repairs done on my little sail boat, looking forwards to seeing how your boats laid out and equipped for coastal sailing smaller boats need more thought they have there limits for weather conditions but are more fun
What do you do for a liferaft on such a small boat? Use the inflatable? Just wondering because I was looking at these montgomery 17's for sailing similar waters and offshore to Southern California. All my offshore races, the skippers always bring/rent a liferaft. It would be amazing to have a long range electric motor these.. for the quiet.
Hi Superblonde, I tow my dinghy so I can reach land when I’m on a buoy or at anchor. Sometimes I don’t even bring it along if I’m planning on only using docks. I haven’t worried about a life raft. Offshore is a whole other world compared to cruising around the Salish Sea.Thanks for taking the time to watch my video.
A Montgomery 15 sailed from California to Hawaii, I’m not sure he brought a life raft. With enough positive flotation and a beacon you would probably be fine.
@@RustyKnorr Where are the detailed stories about the Montgomery 15 and 17 about their blue water voyages? I have been looking around for the detailed stories or documentary/interviews. Any books? I have read many books by sailors on other boats including the transpac trip of Sharon Sites Adams on her 25' folkboat in the 1960's.
Good morning, the sailboat going by is a 20’ Flicka built by Pacific Seacraft. In my mind they are the ultimate small craft. If my wife sailed with me I would’ve eventually bought one. I’m totally happy with Tramontana for my solo adventures.

B.T.W. I see reading comments your homeport has changed. Kind of puts you in middle range in Puget Sound.

I really like that boat also. Great looking for sure. @@davidyoung5321
