Loved this, man!!! 😂😂😂😂 Great buns, Jacob!! 🍞 Jake is a machine! 👀 💪🏾 Nice editing, Tyler!! Gonna miss you, my friend... Have a great time on your trip!
The 1896 Olympics didn’t include the best athletes in the world. There were about 240 participants from 14 nations. About two-thirds of the participants were Greek. The rest were mostly European. Some of the participants were tourists on vacation who happened to be in Athens, Greece at the time.
4:44 True, at the first Olympics athletes were slow however a high school athlete is comparable to a professional at the time (or maybe more) whereas before only amateurs were allowed to compete. It would be interesting to run with their equipment too
@@supermicro9034 I think you got wrong. Maybe in 1930, not in London 1896. Check the winner names and look and their profession. Of course humans did not evolve in 120 years but the knowledge about sport training and nutrition changed drastically
I don’t think so. Development of times in sport starts pretty quickly but slows down a lot, look at some charts for example swimming world record progression of 100m freestyle
Yes. Their performance is actually pretty impressive considering the equipment and conditions they dealt with at the time. The pole vault looks pretty weak until you consider they did it with no padding and very heavy wooden poles.
Tyler , I love how original your videos are. Its so refreshing to see you coming up with new ideas for each video and for the original video series you do have!

Thinking about joining my University's Club team, maybe $10 would help pay for membership dues lmao. If only we had a men's track or cross team. Great video as always, Tyler :)
Great idea, fun challenge. But keep in mind, they ran on a cinder track in leather shoes. Think about Jim Thorpe years later running in mismatched shoes. Amazing trailblazers.
Shoutout Jake for carrying the video hahaha!!! Like, comment, and subscribe to have a chance to win a $10 payout!
Ok

I just saw you hit 8000 subs! Congratulations Tyler!
Congrats on 8k subs

Incorrect watch the Ted talk about how sprinting has evolved
@@supermicro9034 Which part was incorrect? 😅 I don't think you got my comment
@@xWainer watch the video, the athletes back then were just as strong as the athletes now.

@@xWainer Yes, they didn’t do track full time but they certainly weren’t amateurs with the times they put up.
Congrats on 2 silver medals Jake since silver was given to 1st place in 1896
Looks like I’m winning gold in the 800 this year boys 😎
@WatchmanIsland yeah I can smell it
@WatchmanIsland damn, yea that reeks, i can still smell it
@watchmanisland5503I can smell it and it’s been 2 years
@watchmanisland5503 I farted to❤❤😂😂
@watchmanisland5503dude, I can still smell it 🤢
in 100 years people are gonna be like running 1:20 800s and gonna look back at us and say “1:40’s! Pfff! College can do that” 😂
I don’t think so. Development of times in sport starts pretty quickly but slows down a lot, look at some charts for example swimming world record progression of 100m freestyle
bro doesn’t know what he’s talking about
Haha, running four 20 second 200s in a row
No 1:20?? Do u know how fast that is maybe 1:35 not 1:20 thats crazy bro
1:38 at best
Shoot This is actually a really great concept for a video.
1896: no tarmac, no high-technology shoes.
Next video, use gear from that time frame? Got any cinder tracks around? Leather spikes?
Yes. Their performance is actually pretty impressive considering the equipment and conditions they dealt with at the time. The pole vault looks pretty weak until you consider they did it with no padding and very heavy wooden poles.
Don't forget that the competitors probably all just had a shot of whiskey for breakfast and smoked a hand rolled cigarette right before the final.
Also can’t forget the types of diets people had back then!
Great point
@@captainspirouthey would land in sand pits, so the higher you vault the more likely you are to get injured on the fall back down
Sick video, loving the content.
You should do this this with the exact same Equipment like 1896, this would be a lot more difficult

So creative. Road to 10k!!
Dude! You gotta chill with the back round music ...... it's a little much after awhile.

Another super entertaining video! Nice job as always
So cool to hang out with olympic medalists!
What's your Venmo??
This was actually such a creative idea. Good stuff
The winning times in swimming were slower than present day 10 year olds.
Underated af
Imagine winning 10 bucks, could not be me. Also love this content! Can't wait have me and my twin race you and you Jacob.
Good vid! Love from Guatemala💪🏼
Really cool video idea!
Dude this was such creative video idea
Always fun to watch these videos. 😆👍
These videos are so awesome!!!!
Genius video idea! If this video doesnt go viral idk what will
First vid I've seen, solid. Will be back
Jake's a beast!!!
yessir Tyler 🔥🔥🔥 content
The slow times are probably due to the fact the olympics were only for amateurs a hundred years ago.
You should do this for every Olympics until there's no events you can beat.
Keep up the vids!
Bruh nice channel just found it and found y’all so humble and cool; subscribes immediately! Have a nice day, keep up the vids :)
Love ur work mate
Love the hair tyler 🤣 great video man!
Hahahaha appreciate it CJ!

This was an awesome video ‼️‼️
Amazing running!
This vid makes me remember I have to start training for cross country
Nice idea!!! Awesome video!!
So you're telling me 16 year old me would've won 4 Olympic gold medals in the first Olympics😐
Your videos are top tier content
I love how the 800m gold is the same time as the school record at my middleschool
love the vids
question about your xc training. Do you have a rest day or run 7 days a week?
7 days a week once I get over 50 miles a week!
your channel is so good.
bro you will be famous i promise, your ideas make me press the vid avery time
💯
Jake is a beast!
Last time there was a giveaway i won, but you couldnt post to my country but anyway good video tyler cant wait for 10k subs
You should look up how Edwin Flack (the 800/1500 gold guy) went in the marathon... antics!
impressive 100 years back with no gear and no idea they were doing these speeds. Imagine what they could do with training
When 2.11 is literally your PR .
I enjoyed this video, but in 1896, they run on dirt tracks.
We need Jake’s ab routine
Hair looks good!
Remember that when De Coubertin created olympics he stricly said that they were exclusive for AMATEURS, no pro could have partecipted at it, so 1896 olympics were almost a first time running for some of the athletes
I often thought about this. The only thing I ever won was the woman’s high jump in 1912
you deserve more credit
You should do it this year, but the second olimpics
This dude definitely deserves more views and subs he puts effort in his videos. Very well done
Tyler: you are a baller
Dang, thic boy Jacob got some
You fast bois
Should have tried to run on a dirt track like the runners in 1896 did.
Great runs as always. 😹
told myself i was gonna watch one video before i go to sleep, glad i choose this one
Lol same 2 years later
The fact that a kid on my middle school team could win Olympic gold is crazy😂
great idea for a video
y’all are crazy haha
Got that Olympic gold double in the 4 and 8 😼
OLYMPIC CHAMPS
Can I still get 10$😂
I will give a shot for this

My boy's blonde hair is gonna be fresh
What you forget to mention is that the olympics used to be meant for amateur athletes, not professionals
the winner of the middle school state meet in my state got like 2:08 for the 800
What legends
You fast 💨
I ran at the deep run track
The Times are slow because back in the day during the Olympics you had to be an amateur runner to qualify you could not be professional.
You fast
This is gonna go viral! 🧙🧙🧙
Ayo Jake schindel workout plan? Would love to look like that as a runner
😅🙏
Crazy fast reminds me of me running 2:04
Great idea
7:14 pretty sure that the 80m start line
Should have seen if Jake could win all the races in an afternoon.
Great idea, fun challenge. But keep in mind, they ran on a cinder track in leather shoes. Think about Jim Thorpe years later running in mismatched shoes. Amazing trailblazers.
The guy who won the 800 and 1500 in 1896 went to my school lol
