    It is so hard to maintain 1st place, especially if the pace to start off is slow and you're forced to make everyone move...SO hard. Mad props to the Canadian for putting up a hell of a fight. Arop was the gatekeeper, and in the end, 1st and 2nd place were not given, Arop made sure they were earned. Fantastic race! Fantastic recap!

    I think the slow pace favoured Korir. He has 44-low 400m speed.

      Given that his PR is 1:42.05, he probably would have done well in a fast race as well. Great athlete all around

    Nick what were your times in middl school for the 800 and 1600? Just wondering bc I’m at 5:58 mile and 2:31 800 in 7th grade. Is that good?

      I know I am not him but I think your 800m is actually very good the mile is a bit worse I am 11 and my best 800 is 2:39 but my mile is 5:38
      but still very good times

    Hey Nick, love all the content and this video as usual, do you reckon you will have a look at or comment on the fasle starts in the mens 110m hurdles, there was a very good letsrun article on the huge number of false starts during the WCs, and the statistical improbability of it.

    hey nick i got a question, at the end of the video you showed the mens 1500 clip, how is it fair that someone all the way at the end of the starting line has to run the extra distance to go against the rim?

      He hasn’t. Emmanuel Korir has ran 1:42.05 and is the 6th fastest all time

    It's 2 laps but it's not 2 laps fast..... 800m is actually becoming one of the most lame events because they jog so slow for like 600m then sprint at the end....... It's boring to actually watch, just catch the highlights of the last 20 seconds if you want any excitement.
