Welcome to Cairns and the Tropical Far North🌴 I felt at home here instantly after living in Brisbane for 20 years and currently live in Edge Hill. Machans Beach definitely a no-go zone for flying drones as it's very close to northern approach to Cairns International Airport. In fact, most of Cairns is affected by the location of the airport, which is why there are no tall buildings. Regarding Crocodiles you do get to know where they are especially if your into fishing. In winter it's more common to see them sunning themselves at the usual places if you know where to look. For instance there's the Mowbray Bridge on the Captain Cook Highway just before Port Douglas (Port) and if you look to the left the sand bank usually has one, though more common to see them in Winter. When I first got here back in 2014 there were a few instances of small Dogs being taken by Crocs at Kewarra Dog Beach and the beach between Palm Cove and Clifton Beach where you have water behind the beach. I haven't heard of anything lately though. With regards to FOOD Cairns is probably one of the best 'foodie' regions in Australia. Cairns is blessed with its abundant rainfall and locally produced tropical fruits and veg. As you'll soon notice Cairns is strongly influenced by Papua New Guinean, Pacific Island and Asian culture and a trip to Rusty's Markets in the City (Friday, Saturday, Sunday) is the best place to experience the energy and colour of a REAL food market. Not only that the close proximity of the Atherton Tablelands means we don't miss out on all the usual cooler climate fruits, vegetables and excellent dairy produce you'd expect in New Zealand or Tasmania. Best to combine the local dairy produce, milks, cheeses and chocolate with locally grown and roasted Coffee from the many Torrefazione located around the region. Anyway welcome to the region🌴🐠🍌🌞❤.

Hey guys! We're looking at holidaying in Carins very soon so we can make our decision if we want to move to Carins from Mackay. We love the video! Great work guys!
Have been watching your videos and enjoying the content - thank you. Not sure if you have taken Rocco to the dog park between Trinity and Kewarra Beach. A really good easy way to meet locals.

Hey guys We’ve just driven up from Adelaide and have very much enjoyed your clips. We took two cars and arrived in Cairns last week. Keep keeping in real. Best move we have ever done. The journey here was epic and now the real adventure begins.
@@thatfalzonfamily well we left Adelaide and drove to Ballarat and stayed with family for 2 nights. Then drove to Bendigo for 4 nights with family. Then Dubbo for 2 nights again with family. Then drove to St George, Emerald & Townsville for a night at each. Then to Cairns. A grand total of nearly 4500 kms.
Great video. I'm interested in how you guys get on in the wet season, I heard it's pretty brutal and rains alot and very humid and hot. My wife and I and our beagle are planning to move to Cairns in 2024 from Canberra.
Yeah absolutely, we are also. Grateful we have a house with split systems and the pool to help, I’m looking forward to the experience! Will keep you updated on it 😊 That’s Amazing, you guys won’t regret it. Do you have family up here?

Hey Steven! 👋🏼 For many reasons, the weather, benefit to our little girls life being outside more, benefit to our work, benefits to our personal self being somewhere that makes our hearts happy. It has been a incredible experience so far and looking forward to more in the future. At the moment we will be here for the next 12 months as our rental contract is for that and we will make sure of a decision closer to that date. There’s definitely more states I want to experience and see before buying although I believe Cairns has our hearts and will be the place we buy in after travelling. Absolutely! Fishing content is coming soon. We also have the channel Luke Falzon with fishing content
Left Cairns in 2010, and I still miss it. Have an amazing time. 👍👌
