    Wife and I moved a longtime ago from Sydney Eastern Suburbs beach front flat to beautiful Cairns, wear shorts the year round, use aircon 3 months of the year when hot, have weekends away at beautiful Palm Cove and Port Douglas, dine regularly at waterfront restaurants, no city traffic, homes cheap as chips (4b, 2 bath, db garage, fully airconned under $500K), rates about half, can do council, man we love it, but please keep it a secret!.

      Do you have kids? I’m sure I’d love it but worried about kids growing up there - education and then careers when they grow up. Would have to escape no?

    Hi Scotty, Cairns local, grew up in cairns & left late 20's to SE QLD. Bungalow isn't a very good area in cairns, very dodgy. I would say a great spot would be on the esplanade nearer to the airport, cairns north, edge hill, whitfield, freshwater & of course the northern beaches. I lived at edge hill right next to the botanical gardens, my favourite spot to be closs to town, but did become very popular with trendy cafes when I left with prices going up. I grew up at trinity beach & my mum worked at palm cove. I miss cairns, favourite place is port douglas, mossman gorge, all of the tablelands.

      @ScottyPass  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Clare! Lovely to hear from you! Thanks for stopping by 😊👊🏼 Haha can totally agree, Bungalow was definitely a little dicy haha Recently moved back down to SEQ actually... It was a brief stint in TNQ, but hope to be back again sometime soon 😊 Thanks for the tips! All the best, Scotty 👍🏻

    Hey Scotty, I just came across your vlog and really enjoyed watching. This is a part of the country that I've not yet visit myself, but probably I should the next time that I travel to Australia. Seems amazing. And honestly, you seem really cheerful. It put me in a good mood to watch this 😊

      @@ScottyPass Thanks heaps, Scotty for taking your time to make that nice reply 😊. Yeah, I trust there's much to see and explore around Queensland. That seems to be somewhere worth a visit. Have only been further to the south, around NSW, which was great too. No complaints. Having parts of my family located there. So, I love watching stuff from Down Under in general and I just couldn't keep myself from giving you thumbs up and write a few lines. It makes me happy and to see stuff from Australia. It always does, well almost always. In the sense, that it sometimes makes me a little emotional too, as I'm not frequently there, due to living overseas. Well, I'm there too rarely, but sometimes wishing it wasn't so. Anyhow. Was fun to see the Kangaroos on the beach, that you filmed. That was quite a moment. Just amazing. Hope I ever get to see something like this myself in real. Thanks for sharing! And yeah, I loved that you let mom take part in your vlog as well.
      Enjoy your week! 🌞

    Just wondering, Scotty if you had the chance to live in Cairns again would you go? We are Victorians and are looking for somewhere smaller than the Gold Coast/Brisbane area but still has great schools and shopping etc.. Would you still say it's a great place to go to?

    • @ScottyPass
      @ScottyPass  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi Janelle, thanks so much for stopping by 😊👊🏼 So exciting that you’re considering a move!
      Short answer: I would definitely move back, but under different circumstances and I’d definitely be a little more picky in the suburbs I chose to live. Cairns is perfect if you’re looking for that coastal lifestyle, but don’t want the chaos of a bigger city. 👌🏼 I’d recommend spending a couple of weeks up there if you can, to get a feel for it. Drive around, experience the area and perhaps decide then if it’s something worth pursuing. Summer is intense, but doable 😊 Scotty
