I Traded my BMW E30 for a Broken E32 735iL | Good Decision or Not?

- Well after months of my E30 not selling I began to lose hope.... that is until I found a listing from a guy who wanted to trade his broken E32 735il for something running and driving, and I just so happened to have the perfect candidate, my e30! Long story short I welcome to you guys my new very much in need of work 1991 BMW 735il, almost a flagship, but not quite. So lets take a first look of this beauty!

E32s are great man, good stuff. I've got a 730i myself. M30B30 manual with 100.000km or 60.000 miles.

Have always been a fan of the E32 7 Series. Yes, this does need some love, but love the green. Look forward to seeing you bring it back to the luxo-cruiser it deserves to be.

They are super sick tho I shouldn't have sold it. But u fit a rear glass sunshade from e28 and it fits really well
Might want to check the power drivers headrest before putting the back seat panel back on. These are known to have the infamous seat twist and headrest failure. My two cents. Oxford green is stunning when cleaned up! Cheers, George

@@JesseJamesHeadrick Islandgrun is what is printed on the shock-tower as the German version of Island Green - it is the Paint Code. However, Iceland Green is what it was called in BMW NA brochures and color charts - I have them as evidence from this time period. Therefore this is the proper US designation for this paint. Often people will mistake this green for Boston Green - which is stupid, as no E32/E34 came with that color; or 2nd most common mistake is Oxford - which came later. Iceland Green was the 1st green to come back to the US market in 1990 after a 9-yr. hiatus of no greens being avail.
Owned my e32 735il 10 years now with all on road costs it was $1400aud she's been very reliable and I've put 150,000kms on it since I bought the old girl. It's time now to put her in the shed where I'll turn her into something very nice indeed

Ahhh Yes budz, Your a 7 guy now. E32 sevens are mint, big brother to e34. Alpina chin on the front, deep dish BBS and you good to go.

I have a 1990 year 735il same color and love the car. Seems dependable and actually fun to drive on freeway and around town. Also comfortable with heated seats and AC.

Had an e32 loved it but when I put coilovers and some wheels on it I had hoses Crack fuel line cracks there brittle e30s are cheap but e32s are dirt cheap.
Yes, front seats are the same with e34, and the rear is not, even not electric, it looks like the same, but it's wider. Great project 👍😀👍😀👍👍👍

You're not a 7series guy...YET!! I have both an e34 and a e38 740il! When you have a family or the gf is sending hints, it's the only logical thing to do. E30s are for teenagers. Lol.
L-Seat makes e32 replacement seat leather.

I call this the 2pac ride! I have a '92, sunroof, with 20s and Coilovers for a great stiff ride on them corners. Also with the original handbook. The door actuators are my nemesis.

Don’t use auto trans fluid for power steering. It’s power steering raises or lowers the rear and uses a special mineral oil. Don’t mix or you have to empty an replace.

Neat to see inside one of these and how some of the features compare to the W140 s class. Namely the reclining rear seats.

The long-wheelbase E32 and (if equipped) Euro and Canada-Spec E34 were the only cars in existence to have Foglamp Washers. Not even Mercedes, Jaguar or Porsche had them. Yours may work. Mine working: th-cam.com/video/Mds7kewHpjM/w-d-xo.html

@@Lamerguezerie- If you have an E32 or E34 with headlamp washers, they should have foglamp washers. 2 separate motors.

Yo got a question for you Josh, are you gonna be going for a stock exhaust setup? If so, I suppose buying replacement cats would probably be too expensive. I am asking as if you know if there is a different way to reduce the noise (if thats not a exhaust leak) in a cheaper way as I have a similar scenario with hollowed cats and stock muffler on my 740iL, where id like to reduce the noise but dont wanna buy replacement cats as they are quite taxed. Also, would hollowed cats make the exhaust note that much louder than stock? Good video, as usual btw.
Thanks man! But yeah this car is hollowed cats, and a bit of a leaky muffler. Ideally id like to buy a complete exhaust from a partout because that would be most cost effective. Usually a cat delete doesn’t sound bad on m60 or m30, but this exhaust just sounds extremely ratty andni hate it

Likely Calypso Red - nice color. Brocade was much rarer, but avail. in the US too, more of a eggplant purple maroon - more common on some 750s.
