I must say, it's rather nice to see you visit the town I grew up in. I do have a couple of things to point out though: 9:44 Yes, Hereford is indeed a city and has been recognised as one since time immemorial. Also, the apple seats on the zipper buses are very odd, but is most likely something to do with the fact that Hereford is a big producer of cider, and is the home of Bulmers. 12:09 If I remember correctly, that is a monument to Horatio Nelson, not a monument to the old castle.
Thanks for stopping by! I knew Hereford was a city as soon as I said it because it has a cathedral 🤦♀️. As for the memorial... that's what a quick google search told me. Of course Google could've been wrong! But interesting about the cider thing, I had no idea! My partner kept telling me to look for Hereford cows. I don't know how many cows you get in cities though 🤣
I remember this day a few weeks back, HD01, the train you were going to take, ended up sitting at Chester for a few hours and then went off to Holyhead. Pretty disrupting day, shame you didn't get back on them, I didn't actually know you could order stuff in standard, that's pretty awesome. Most times in standard I'm only on one stop, say Cardiff to Newport. I should try this one day, hopefully without the weather getting in the way, though!
It was a very bad day for the trains. I didn't even include everything that went wrong - just the pertinent stuff. But I'll be back to get my cheeseburger!
@@TravelSoGood Hi! I had it a few years ago when travelling to Newcastle. It was average, but I would recommend getting it with something else as there is nothing to accompany the burger!
Pontrilas Station, between Abergavenny and Hereford, was a victim of Beechingisation. The station buildings became a private house. My Mam nearly bought it back in the 70s.
Great video! 20:03 lol i swear like 30% of your channel is tasting food! You should make a montage of food tasting of all the foods you have eaten on camera😂😂
i think this was the day i was stuck ona 158 for about 3h between Shrewsbury and Gobowen due to flooding, not great when you can see water where the track bed should be
Yeah, possibly. It certainly could have gone worse for me. I kinda figured I was taking a risk heading north from Hereford but I had to continue for the sake of the video!
Toasted cheese and Tomato soup is such a comfort meal, perfect for such a dreary day. After years of travel I now travel with a set of utensils in a little case which solves a lot of plastic/ wood displeasure.
10 out of 10 for the food on those TFW services. It looked absolutely amazing The disruption later in the day was unfortunate. Shrewsbury always seems to be one of the first places to be affected by flooding when there's been heavy rain
That egg and hash brown roll looked amazing. Add a Hashbrown to a Greggs Omelette Breakfast Roll and one to the Cheese and Bacon Flatbread at McDonalds. Another great vlog.
brilliant vlog the TfW class 67 look amazing & ive yet to have a ride on one but ive seen a few out & about in the North West & Hereford looks like a lovely place to visit but maby not when its raining & i visited Shrewsbury back in Febuary when i spent a week in the Midlands & its a lovely town & i tried to visit the castle but i went on a Thursday & sadly it dosnt open on Thursdays
Our first ever long distance train trip on 12th October was awful. What was a five hour trip ended up nine hours because of a line side fire. As a terrified traveller it's scared me. Birmingham New street station is terrifying.
Jen you put in the description that they are class 91 loco hauled, but that is LNER, TfW use the Class 67 for their premier services as they need diesel and the 91s are electric
So annoying the train on the way back was cancelled, it must be one of the worst downgrades from a TfW set to an overcrowded voyager 😂 looks like you’ll have to do it again for the cheeseburger soon!

@@TravelSoGood Yeah, you'll find no cows in the city centre unless you count statues. 😂
TFW staff member here ...... We do offer free sanitary items thru the at seat ordering (when it works)
Are you the guy I met on the train last week?
@TravelSoGood yes we briefly spoke 😁
Hi Dan. Do you mind please sending me a message - I have a question for you but can't find contact details for you. It's nothing scary, promise!
Great video Jen 😜. Those free Hereford buses are fruity buses! 🍎
I thought it was sponsored by Morrisons!

Thanks that was a very enjoyable video 👍
The River Wye. Belmont Abbey School Rowing Team used to practice on it.

Or how about an entirely new channel for it 🤔
@TravelSoGood oh yes!!! How could i be so dumb 😄 I remember you said you are starting a cooking channel!

I await the burger review! 😂❤
Surely that's the River Severn, not the Wye?
Google maps says it Wye. The Severn runs through Shrewsbury though so maybe that's what's you're confusing with?
It's most certainly the River Wye.

TFW i find a bit of a joke 2 coach units for a long journey and u wonder why they are rammed

Can you tell I'm not a train expert?! 🤣. Fixed.
Also - Jen? I think you've got you trans trains TH-camrs mixed up 😜
@@TravelSoGood Yeah I can tell 🙃
All together now… ‘it’s behind you! ‘ 😂

Yeah... I'll try again soon!
Did you have to buy new tickets for the journey back to Cardiff? TFW's catering seems far superior to any other operator in the UK.
No. My existing ticket was valid on the diverted route. Although that said, I was only asked for my ticket on the first train out of Shrewsbury!
