You pick up the logic for the food weapon so quick! How how?? I'm impressed!! Even I didn't get it straight away. Props to you my dude! The Grimm's fairy tale book!! Good source of reference my dude!! And yes Cinder is based on Cinderella, they actually put her reference all the way back in V1Ch1 and in this episode. Listen to the sound when she walks. Emerald's reference is in this chapter as well but it's very subtle unless you pay attention and Mercury is through his emblem if you can see it and also his name. Hey Daryl! Yes the best food fight in history, if only I could recreate it somehow...food for thought. The melon hammer is indeed the most dangerous weapon as it is actually attached to a pole. It appears that it is Nora, not Pyrhha who is the true controller of poles eh? haha. I did notice the sounds of Cinder's shoes in the first chapter of volume 1 upon revisiting. That was a very cool clue indeed. Emerald and Mercury still allude me for the time being but I'm sure that will change with time. "- I think he was some sort of cat... - what, like a puma? - yeah there you go" Did you notice this reference to Red vs Blue? Remember this conversation between Church and Tucker in second episode? And even if you noticed the red like roses music right away, i preferred the mirror mirror guitare version when Weiss fights Nora... (oh yeah, and favourite weapon? The way gambol shroud was recreated with 2 breads and sausages. But maybe it's my French side which is happy to see baguettes as weapons ^^)
Hey Nalo, I didn't catch the RvB reference unfortunately but caught it upon re-watching the chapter. I am also very glad I waited till I felt a bit better to react to it. It was worth it. I was so taken by the action during the initial reaction, I totally blanked on a lot of the character themes. However upon revisiting the chapter numerous times, I was able to catch all of them and really enjoyed the chapter that much more from that. LOL the gambol shroud of sausages and bread is a wonderful combo indeed!

I mentioned a vignette the other day, it's the transition to guitar in the Red Like Roses bit at the end of the food fight. For a good 2 or 3 years that was the studio's vignette for all its shows!

Emerald grabbing the lighter is especially impressive when you realize that the only time she was close enough to him to do that is when he took the note from her. And if you look closely when he walks up behind them, you can actually see both of them pickpocketing each other.

Season 2 hype! Cinder, Mercury, and Emerald are a very interesting group, probably some of my favorite villains in a show. As for Third Crusade, it's not made very clear, but based on the name, Tukson's reaction, and the context of the scene, I've always guessed that it was some kind of political manifesto or something along those lines (Pro White Fang? Anti-Faunus?). Maybe it was like going into a bookshop and asking for Mein Kampf or the Communist Manifesto?
AAahhh that makes a whole lot of sense. Yes I agree Draconaes, that was probably said to be the trigger to start raising the alarm in Tukson's head. What a way to introduce these new villains, with straight out displaying that as cold blooded hitmen. However the episode also displays their youthful personalities as well; funny dichotomy if you ask me. Season 2 is definitely hype for sure and these awesome villains seriously raise the stakes for our heroes. Can't wait to see more :)

You picked up on using aura to help create their food weapons, that slips past a lot of people (including me the first time). Nice job! Nora's ax is the best food-weapon, for me. Your book of Grimm tales sounds like an excellent resource for this series. As you know from reading them, the original fairy tales are a lot darker than what they've been turned into in modern times ( Disney ). I wonder if that doesn't influence the music of RWBY, since many of the full songs have a lot darker lyrics than just what you hear in the show.

Nora's melon ax was indeed an amazing weapon and it basically sent Yang into the freaking stratosphere for a really good minute lol. Yeah you are right, modern retelling of stories (Disney) have really dialed downed the dark aspects of these stories. I can totally feel the inspiration behind these darker tales emanating from some of the lyrics of these songs. So fun fact, prior to volume 2, we got a teaser image of the first episode of The scene where Weiss was in Ruby's arms and the pillar was falling, just without all the food surrounding them. Needless to say we were all worried. Definitely an iconic episode tho. Yep, I am. :) Like someone else already told you, Barbara loves puns and apparently often entertains/annoys her colleagues with it. She does this in a number of videos/scenes with the Roosterteeth crew, which often results in others (mostly Burnie, apparently) saying ``Goddammit, Barb!´´. It's become quite iconic in the Roosterteeth community; especially in the FNDM, where it's become an inside joke that everytime someone in RWBY, someone in a comment or video about RWBY or somehow else related to RWBY says or writes a bad pun, no matter if it's from Barbara or Yang or related to them, to reply with ``Goddammit, Barb!´´. I'm not really following any content from Roosterteeth that's not RWBY or Gen:Lock related (and for Gen:Lock I basically just watched reactions), so I can't say if and how frequently it is used in other things Roosterteeth-related; but if you ever spot a bad pun while watching RWBY content or in the comments under RWBY videos, feel free to say or reply with ``Goddammit, Barb!´´. :) Oh, and the fact that Yang's personality was apparently more or less based on Barbara's (When she asked what Yang's personality was, the answer was: ``She's basically you.´´) may have helped with solidifying that quote as a staple in the FNDM.

The food being aura powered made sense to me because as someone who makes lot of sandwiches and has dealt with lots of turkey, they are both very soft and cannot withstand much force. So aura power will make food more battle worthy lol - I just realized how funny it is that I'm talking about using food for combat hehe. In regards to your comment about the editing. I just manually go through all my footage and cut out the bits and pieces where the speech doesn't flow smoothly and then piece them together. It's a long process but worth it at the end, I think :) Don't know of any software that does that off the back but certainly sounds like an efficient system indeed. Thanks Jacqueline!

Not sure how perfect I could get it but it seems like it would not be *so* hard to pull off. I just googled it and it doesn't seem like there are a lot of options. (Maybe I didn't google hard enough though.) Anything I can do to help I will! Yeah, the food not falling apart was definitely hard to believe. The baguette and the sausages especially!
actually, it occurs to me that maybe you're not just cutting out quiet parts but parts where you start speaking and then try something else. I don't think I could detect that. So maybe it's not possible without advanced technology to identify those parts. But if it's just quiet parts it should be possible.

I do often cut out more than just silent parts, like say if I decide what I am saying should be said at a later time in the video than I'll just edit that part out. So I'm guessing that would indeed be difficult for any advanced software to detect as that is just by choice of the editor. No worries at all, I appreciate the idea and that's amazing that you can create something like that. However if down the road if you decide to create anything like that, please let me know. I'll be happy to test out any new video editing softwares you develop :)

Thanks dude Vitaly, I'm doing my best ot get well as fast as possible. The lighting in my room was a bit different when I filmed this because it was later in the day and I was using artificial lighting as opposed to natural light so that may be why. I may react to the volume 2 trailers later although many in the comments have said it's not necessary. Haha yeah dude, as someone who has dealt with a lot of turkey in my life, there is no way in reality or animated fantasy that a turkey can withstand that much force and pressure without some manner of enhancement lol! Plus just like you said, the quality of this fight is indeed on another level and made even better by the fact that it was created with less. Goes to show that sometimes you don't need lots of money or a big studio to create marvelous art :)
I don't think this any of this is a spoiler, but moderator may want to check it first, it has to do with character inspirations. Mercury is easy to guess the character inspiration of (note not all inspiration are fairy tails history and mythology is referenced as well), as for Emerald your guess is as good as anybodies, I have seen a few theories floating around, but nothing confirmed. As for Cinder pay attention whenever she walks and at the tattoo on her back for hints to her character inspiration.
Hmm very interesting. Yes any others have informed me that Cinder is indeed based off of Cinderella although I'm still trying to find more than just the glass slipper as a clue. In regards to Mercury, not really sure as of yet. I will have to get more of his backstory and then maybe a theory will come to view. Thanks Paul, this is great food for thought indeed :)

cinder is loosely based on Cinderella although really the only part of her character other than her name that shows this is that she wears glass shoes and fights using glass

I have to say from your reactions I've seen so far you are maybe the most perceptive reactor I've seen. There is of course the paranoid assumption that instead of being perceptive you may be disingenuous. That assumes you watched the series before and are staging the reactions. Nearly every one of your reactions have been near perfect for me after all. I mean you pick up on things or hints that others be it me or other reactors not or maybe only after multiple watchings picked up on the first time. I' ll say though if that is the case though you need to get a role in some hollywood movies because I believe the reactions to be genuine.

Some even tell me very vaguely to watch out for stuff in future episodes which is kind of fun. Fortunately I have my moderator/cousin who goes through the comments to search for such things; but I have to say, according to him, the vast majority of the fandom have been awesome remaining spoiler free. And another thing is that maybe some other reactors can possibly agree with, is that when sharing a reaction to something with a community, especially a fandom such as this, I try to pay a lot more attention to details than with something that I would just watch by myself without the camera on; so that everyone is aware of how important the series is to me, which this series is. You pick up the logic for the food weapon so quick! How how?? I'm impressed!! Even I didn't get it straight away. Props to you my dude! The Grimm's fairy tale book!! Good source of reference my dude!! And yes Cinder is based on Cinderella, they actually put her reference all the way back in V1Ch1 and in this episode. Listen to the sound when she walks. Emerald's reference is in this chapter as well but it's very subtle unless you pay attention and Mercury is through his emblem if you can see it and also his name.

Hey Daryl! Yes the best food fight in history, if only I could recreate it somehow...food for thought. The melon hammer is indeed the most dangerous weapon as it is actually attached to a pole. It appears that it is Nora, not Pyrhha who is the true controller of poles eh? haha. I did notice the sounds of Cinder's shoes in the first chapter of volume 1 upon revisiting. That was a very cool clue indeed. Emerald and Mercury still allude me for the time being but I'm sure that will change with time. Hey Nalo, I didn't catch the RvB reference unfortunately but caught it upon re-watching the chapter. I am also very glad I waited till I felt a bit better to react to it. It was worth it. I was so taken by the action during the initial reaction, I totally blanked on a lot of the character themes. However upon revisiting the chapter numerous times, I was able to catch all of them and really enjoyed the chapter that much more from that. LOL the gambol shroud of sausages and bread is a wonderful combo indeed!

My favorite food weapon was definitely the sausage whip. Also, notice Cinder's footsteps sound like glass. Glass slippers = Cinderella. Volume 2 is a huge step above V1. So many great moments I can't wait for you to get to.
I can't wait either Sketcher0204! This chapter felt like falling in love with RWBY again for the millionth time lol. Ahh I see, so the glass slippers are what ties her story to Cinderella. It'll be interesting to see what else about the Cinderella story, her character draws upon. I agree, the environment and graphics are definitely an update above that of V1. Btw the sausage whip was a crazy cool weapon of choice for Blake, I very much enjoyed that as well lol!

Season 2 hype! Cinder, Mercury, and Emerald are a very interesting group, probably some of my favorite villains in a show.
As for Third Crusade, it's not made very clear, but based on the name, Tukson's reaction, and the context of the scene, I've always guessed that it was some kind of political manifesto or something along those lines (Pro White Fang? Anti-Faunus?). Maybe it was like going into a bookshop and asking for Mein Kampf or the Communist Manifesto?
AAahhh that makes a whole lot of sense. Yes I agree Draconaes, that was probably said to be the trigger to start raising the alarm in Tukson's head. What a way to introduce these new villains, with straight out displaying that as cold blooded hitmen. However the episode also displays their youthful personalities as well; funny dichotomy if you ask me. Season 2 is definitely hype for sure and these awesome villains seriously raise the stakes for our heroes. Can't wait to see more :)

Your book of Grimm tales sounds like an excellent resource for this series. As you know from reading them, the original fairy tales are a lot darker than what they've been turned into in modern times ( Disney ). I wonder if that doesn't influence the music of RWBY, since many of the full songs have a lot darker lyrics than just what you hear in the show.

Nora's melon ax was indeed an amazing weapon and it basically sent Yang into the freaking stratosphere for a really good minute lol. Yeah you are right, modern retelling of stories (Disney) have really dialed downed the dark aspects of these stories. I can totally feel the inspiration behind these darker tales emanating from some of the lyrics of these songs. So fun fact, prior to volume 2, we got a teaser image of the first episode of The scene where Weiss was in Ruby's arms and the pillar was falling, just without all the food surrounding them. Needless to say we were all worried. Definitely an iconic episode tho.

Yep, I am. :) Like someone else already told you, Barbara loves puns and apparently often entertains/annoys her colleagues with it. She does this in a number of videos/scenes with the Roosterteeth crew, which often results in others (mostly Burnie, apparently) saying ``Goddammit, Barb!´´. It's become quite iconic in the Roosterteeth community; especially in the FNDM, where it's become an inside joke that everytime someone in RWBY, someone in a comment or video about RWBY or somehow else related to RWBY says or writes a bad pun, no matter if it's from Barbara or Yang or related to them, to reply with ``Goddammit, Barb!´´. I'm not really following any content from Roosterteeth that's not RWBY or Gen:Lock related (and for Gen:Lock I basically just watched reactions), so I can't say if and how frequently it is used in other things Roosterteeth-related; but if you ever spot a bad pun while watching RWBY content or in the comments under RWBY videos, feel free to say or reply with ``Goddammit, Barb!´´. :)
Oh, and the fact that Yang's personality was apparently more or less based on Barbara's (When she asked what Yang's personality was, the answer was: ``She's basically you.´´) may have helped with solidifying that quote as a staple in the FNDM.

The food being aura powered made sense to me because as someone who makes lot of sandwiches and has dealt with lots of turkey, they are both very soft and cannot withstand much force. So aura power will make food more battle worthy lol - I just realized how funny it is that I'm talking about using food for combat hehe. In regards to your comment about the editing. I just manually go through all my footage and cut out the bits and pieces where the speech doesn't flow smoothly and then piece them together. It's a long process but worth it at the end, I think :) Don't know of any software that does that off the back but certainly sounds like an efficient system indeed. Thanks Jacqueline!

actually, it occurs to me that maybe you're not just cutting out quiet parts but parts where you start speaking and then try something else. I don't think I could detect that. So maybe it's not possible without advanced technology to identify those parts. But if it's just quiet parts it should be possible.

Oh actually I just read your second comment right here. I do often cut out more than just silent parts, like say if I decide what I am saying should be said at a later time in the video than I'll just edit that part out. So I'm guessing that would indeed be difficult for any advanced software to detect as that is just by choice of the editor. No worries at all, I appreciate the idea and that's amazing that you can create something like that. However if down the road if you decide to create anything like that, please let me know. I'll be happy to test out any new video editing softwares you develop :)

Thanks dude Vitaly, I'm doing my best ot get well as fast as possible. The lighting in my room was a bit different when I filmed this because it was later in the day and I was using artificial lighting as opposed to natural light so that may be why. I may react to the volume 2 trailers later although many in the comments have said it's not necessary. Regardless of whether I upload my reaction to those, I'm going to watch all of them eventually anyway. Haha yeah dude, as someone who has dealt with a lot of turkey in my life, there is no way in reality or animated fantasy that a turkey can withstand that much force and pressure without some manner of enhancement lol! Plus just like you said, the quality of this fight is indeed on another level and made even better by the fact that it was created with less. Goes to show that sometimes you don't need lots of money or a big studio to create marvelous art :)

I don't think this any of this is a spoiler, but moderator may want to check it first, it has to do with character inspirations.
Mercury is easy to guess the character inspiration of (note not all inspiration are fairy tails history and mythology is referenced as well), as for Emerald your guess is as good as anybodies, I have seen a few theories floating around, but nothing confirmed. As for Cinder pay attention whenever she walks and at the tattoo on her back for hints to her character inspiration.
Hmm very interesting. Yes any others have informed me that Cinder is indeed based off of Cinderella although I'm still trying to find more than just the glass slipper as a clue. In regards to Mercury, not really sure as of yet. I will have to get more of his backstory and then maybe a theory will come to view. Thanks Paul, this is great food for thought indeed :)

I have to say from your reactions I've seen so far you are maybe the most perceptive reactor I've seen. There is of course the paranoid assumption that instead of being perceptive you may be disingenuous. That assumes you watched the series before and are staging the reactions.
Nearly every one of your reactions have been near perfect for me after all. I mean you pick up on things or hints that others be it me or other reactors not or maybe only after multiple watchings picked up on the first time. I' ll say though if that is the case though you need to get a role in some hollywood movies because I believe the reactions to be genuine.

Thanks you for your kind words and I wish I could take the credit for being perceptive. However as you'll notice from my discussion videos, I take the time to re-watch every episode after the initial reaction so that helps catch anything I might have missed and it also helps detail me towards the next chapter. Furthermore I'm blessed to have awesome commenters such as yourself, who fill in the blanks, including stuff I've missed/forgot to mention in previous videos. Almost every RWBY reaction video I've done has pretty much about 50+ comments informing me about RWBY lore, ship info, names, weapons, funny stuff, and much more without spoiling anything. Some even tell me very vaguely to watch out for stuff in future episodes which is kind of fun. Fortunately I have my moderator/cousin who goes through the comments to search for such things; but I have to say, according to him, the vast majority of the fandom have been awesome remaining spoiler free. And another thing is that maybe some other reactors can possibly agree with, is that when sharing a reaction to something with a community, especially a fandom such as this, I try to pay a lot more attention to details than with something that I would just watch by myself without the camera on; so that everyone is aware of how important the series is to me, which this series is.
