Today we go out chase some leads. We also go see my friends Garth at my local Metal supply STR. After a estimate or two we head back to the same place I did the Kubota pins and bushings repair and weld for my customer Rogers Landscape. It’s a busy day! And I want you to come along and see what a day in the life of a independent mobile welder and fabricator is really like. I hope you enjoy the video.
Here’s some links for a few of the tools I use in this video!

Man your videos help me so much I’m in welding school right now and I’m glad you show the real side of the mobile welding industry and all the bs you have to go through
Love your videos man.....you show the "real" life of a mobile welder the good the bad and the headaches
I appreciate that!
Everyone wants to be a welder until you have to do welder stuff. It’s hard and hot, or cold, work. Great job Anthony
Yup you ant going to be just sitting at a table running straight beads on a damm t joint or butt joint ! You going be welding all kinds of ways you never thought you would be . A true welder can weld any way and make his self comfortable or atleast close to comfortable.
Wicked video love watching them love how if shows the real life of a welder full respect to how you just go with the flow and take it all in your stride 👍👍👍
Bruz you make me want to create content in Australia. You’re a beast
Boilermakers are kings
Enjoy your video man! Keep up the great work!
thanks for the content. I learn a lot when watching your channel. Been welding for ever, always worked for a company. This shows me how I can put my welder generator to good use and start my own business.
Awesome! Can't wait for the next one!
good work ant
thanks brother
An interesting repair and a similar sort of thing l have been asked to repair in the past. Top stuff young man!
Torches have automatically mode you dont have to puss the pressure all the time can use both hands free.
those pump hydrolic jaws of life would be nice for getting that straight then get some more gussets in there to support it
Keep making these videos! A lot to learn from you
Good video keep on grinding man.
really enjoyed this Anthony...cheers, Paul
Stay positive keep grinding and all the good work . I love your channel I weld myself and I am always up to learning new tricks. I really appreciate your time 😎👍
Thanks 👍
Just found your channel, laugh my ass off, this old dog is learning a ton from you thanks
cut patch first, then trace and cut out area to be repaired...... dry wall repair.... same thing.
Nice and God bless you
Such a great quality channel with great workmanship. Makes me want to do better
Great to hear!
I like your face shield!
That oxy Acetelyn be cutting thoe!! I currently don't have one but I will look into it... Good job 👍👌
Love the vids!
🎵Gonna raise me some lonely dental floss🎵
Could u heat the outside face and quench it to pull the bow out
Look up wg-8 wedge or wg-5. Get some wedges. I’d pass on the car frame too. As for the box blade, I’m sure it’s done by now but I foresaw that bow being a problem, sometimes you’re better off telling the customer that you’ll take it to your shop from the get go. Well, portopower that cutting edge straight, weld in angle and add a few pieces of rec bar stock. 👍🏻 3/4”?!
next week ill be dropping the second half of this video! I got it done, but not the way you'd think
@@MeltinMetalAnthony more ways than mine and yours to fix it. Guess it depends on how many hours/dollars the customer wants to dump into it before they contemplates buying a new one.
What do you think about underwater welding?
Why don’t we want to weld frame steel? I have a van just like your customer but where 2 of the body mounts are in the back (due to rust) are at like 50% life. They’ll break through eventually, I was thinking about having a welder help me out but if it’s not a good idea id like to know why
Can you give us a video of what jobs to avoid. You said in this one to avoid framed steel but I’m not sure what that is, I was looking at doing trailer repairs but is that considered framed steel?
He simply means that you should not agree to jobs where you would be welding on the structural frame rails of any vehicle or road worthy equipment/trailer. He says that mainly because you open yourself up to massive liability, and I would agree completely and add that it's a terrible business practice no matter how much the job pays.
@@cooperschut7784 I’d have to agree…I know he made a video being against taking class and passing test; which would lead to you being certified and able to obtain a license from the state you are working in or becoming bonded to work over state lines…but to each is his own…still a great video
regular garden and farm trailers are OK to work on if fixable. would avoid 18 wheeler stuff.
Honestly I've been asking how did you learn all this but it seems self explanatory, Going to buy a rig after school and wing it 😂😂
Are 7023's hard to find because they ate places in bloom?
MM77 Approved 👍🏼👍🏼
How different are "big cats"? Lets say your "loyal" to Kobota but for some reason the telephone poles got switched somehow and "John Deered" it or Holted it does that make a difference if so what kind?
You’re the best! Just caught myself on fire the same way! Always so careful while welding and then I went full r-tard with the grinder!
Mr Anthony where id you get those really kool pants.....they look like Bakladder...but have the CAT logo on them.....please let us know....PB
ill text you the link!
Noticed rust
Rust is metal
Iron & oxygen
FeO
Feo is ugly in spanish
Ph is also an f
F is also a p
Ugly definition is
1.
unpleasant or repulsive, especially in appearance.
"people in school always told me I was ugly"
Pheasants are birds in the Phasianidae family, order Galliformes, that are larger than partridges or quail. They are native to Eurasia, but have been introduced to many other parts of the world, including North America. Pheasants are long-tailed birds that spend most of their time on the ground in open woodlands and fields, where they feed in small flocks. Their diet includes a variety of foods, such as seeds, insects, and leaves.
Small flux
Can I ask for metals in liquid forms? Or is it cost heavy?
Anthony what are those cutting goggles your using? You like them?
You have a lot less backaches if you'd invest in a bigger hammer!👍
Not trying to be negative in anyway, but why wouldn't the owner just get a new box blade? That has to be around a $2k or more worth of work. The newer box blades have remote hydraulic operated rippers. I'm genuinely curious.
That’s what I told em. You can lead a horse to water
D1.1 structural welding codes
Never weld up a frame like that! For one thing is insurance companies do check social media and they'll drop you!
I walked, I said that on the video
Can you explain a little more why you avoid welding frame metal? Thank you. Love the videos.
@@adamcrum8340 Ask your insurance company, but if done correctly it'll prolly last. Its just a huge liability.
excellent video, where did you end up picking up that cummins?
Dude love ur videos. I am starting to do lite mobile welding and was wondering how u are able to estimate the amount of time it will fake u to do a job.
What size cut off wheel are you using
6"
hi I enjoy your show, but I have a question, how come all the welding shows have one problem for media have ben welding for over 50 years and I have several cutting attachments for my welding torches but I never use them, how come no one on youtube use cutting torches? gene638
im sorry Gene, the way your question is worded has me confused. I use my cutting torch a lot in this video
Bro what work do you have lined up in Montana
I few fab projects for a concrete company. but ill line the work up. always do.
@@MeltinMetalAnthony 10-4 I had to move away from home to follow work, good luck man.
Questions: What is your most often used welding type, I assume stick, I really like mig so far, but I haven't done tig yet... Also, what is your most often used type of rod for stick... Also, what are your go to cloths, like your pants, and not the shirt you caught on fire.
Still in school guys, so if this seems basic please don't hate on me too much.
any shirt you buy, you will at some point or another catch it on fire. I have a video coming out tomorrow that talks about PPE.i use stick most times. flux core would be acceptable for most of what I do, but a suit case is heavy. and what rod I use depends on what im doing. tell your teacher to go more in depth on rod types and application
Everyone starts somewhere if people hate on that then you’ve already beaten them
@@MeltinMetalAnthony To be honest my teacher is not that good, I am mostly teaching myself about amps, positions, and anything else... His idea of teaching welding is in the first 15 minutes of the first couple of days of class watching him welding with rod in a few different positions, and then saying, "Alright, go do that only better." He's a nice guy, but a poor teacher, he's been doing it for 45 years and looking forward to retirement.
You don't use a torch?
Lets say your going to collect the 6:46 rust and move it elsewhere....?
What's the name of your intro song?
Do you have work lined up in Montana?
What's a d11 sry I don't know
How much you charge for this job Anthony?
this must have been a days work easaly.
someone finally gave him a real hammer LOL😂
😂
Whenever I catch on fire, I tell people that I made an ash of myself
Welcome to the PNW
😎👍👍👍
What insurance do you carry
100000 liability and aggregate 2 mill
You need a gouge man , gouge that whole thing off in five minutes,
Hello Anthony, i am a "welder" i play music, too. Do you want any new opening music for your videos? it is Free and original, let me know if you want it. Thanks for your videos.
im interested, shoot me a email
You get screwed more than any welder I’ve seen, just get on a payroll with a company🤷🏻
go back to Mexico 😂
This guy hasn’t got enough experience to work for him self.
This is an easy job for a trained apprentice.
This is called to much confidence for skill level.
To slow
Stop turning off the oxy, make all your cuts like a professional, then get out a hammer :-) (a proper hammer not that hair dressers one)
