I honestly like this idea. It strays away from the standard Boss Fight formula, and brings in more characteristics from the Party and Akechi. It even works as a lead-in to the actual fight. And it kinda reminds me of D’Arby. With a few revisions, it might be a great mechanic for the game, and maybe, if it was in Royal, could be used as one of the games in the Thieves Den. All those tables and just one game of Tycoon, not saying it isn’t the realest, but still.
Oh man, this brings back memories. This was one of the first cut scenes ever discovered for this game. I’m willing to bet that this is why they put so much effort into the treasure room of Sae’s palace, even though you just run through it in two seconds on the heist day. I do think it was the right move, though. The main purpose of this scene seems to be to show how calculating Akechi is, but we already got scenes like that earlier, this one is just redundant and only delays the actual boss fight.

Bearing in mind they all know what Akechi is at this point, I wouldn’t really read anything into Ann’s compliment beyond trying to keep up the facade of putting him at ease. Plus she has commented objectively on other boys looks before.
I don't think anyone but Joker, Futaba, and Morgana knew until after they finished the initial palace and were in the waiting phase. Letting Ryuji or Ann know while working with Akechi would be a huge and unnecessary risk.
I mean, it's not like this is the only time Ann mentions that Akechi is hot- even the pancakes scene includes her recognizing him and telling Ryuji he "doesn't get it" when he says Akechi's hair is stupid. It's also kind of a given- he's an idol, of course he's attractive. Though, I do think it's silly to pretend the thieves are never genuinely impressed by Akechi's skills. They mention more than once that he's actually pretty damn smart and good at fighting. The card gambit also surprised everyone and wasn't something the thieves thought of

It's not a matter of being able to do it on older hardware, its just a matter of it being way more difficult. take this with a grain of salt though, I have very little experience in modding 7th gen consoles.

Stop white knighting, we already had "comedy" show where MC is constantly raped and blackmailed but it's funny because he's a guy (Peter Grill, it's bad, don't watch it, but plot is pretty much "haha look, the girls blackmail him, hehe", kind of like Bolin in LoK except with abusive water tribe chick, except it's stretched for entire season).
I really wish they kept this in. It adds really nice character to everyone and it would be nice for our crew to have a moment where they're not radiating pure light of no wrongdoing. The phantom thieves cheating to win is kind of an amazing idea and I wish they stuck with it. I also really like that we'd be giving the other members (Mona and Crow) time to shine instead of being the chosen one for literally everything

It's weird that the dub team recorded this even though the dub was done after the game released in Japan. Why would they localise and dub already cut content??
Because for the most part, the localizing team isn't told what was kept and what wasn't, just what was in the code/script, so unless it is specifically marked as unused, they make them do everything. It is why most of these have English dubbing but not Japanese, because the original/Japanese crew knew what stayed and what didn't.
Imagine Poker Night by Telltale but it's Persona. Not just Persona 5, either. Each character could have their own poker strategy, their own tells, etc.
It’s true in the first idea of the fight against Sae the first idea was poker not roulette, and she suppose to be the guardian of the protagonist instead of Sojiro, but i still love Sojiro like character for what him do for Futaba.

I kinda dislike this. Sae is the one that's supposed to be cheating. With the Roulette Wheel as shown in the game, all they do is force her to actually play fair. This is just more like cheating back against a cheater. Not as compelling.
Joker lost the poker game, and sae cut joker's finger and as his fingers disconnect from his hand, he and sae was teleported into an arena where a quick time event occurs. Joker plunges his dagger into sae's neck, and ends the quick time event. After that, he wakes up from his hallucination, and sees everyone in the room dead. On the top right corner of the screen, you get the achievement "Poker Night"
I love that Ryuji calls Ann dumb and she doesn't even try to refute it.

I kinda dislike this. Sae is the one that's supposed to be cheating. With the Roulette Wheel as shown in the game, all they do is force her to actually play fair. This is just more like cheating back against a cheater. Not as compelling.
Joker lost the poker game, and sae cut joker's finger and as his fingers disconnect from his hand, he and sae was teleported into an arena where a quick time event occurs. Joker plunges his dagger into sae's neck, and ends the quick time event. After that, he wakes up from his hallucination, and sees everyone in the room dead. On the top right corner of the screen, you get the achievement "Poker Night"
