I just want to applaud Atlas West on doing such a good job on Dub casting in general, as well as English directing. Dubs get a bad wrap because English VOs are often just emulating the JP cast. All of the top tier Dubs that are near unanimously loved don't do this, and nowadays Atlas West seems to almost never do it. Improvement!

Same deal with P4. Narukami was the blankest of blank slates in P4 (even more so than Joker in 5 imo) but the anime and Arena turned him into the Gigachad everyone knows and loves.
Because Joker in the game barely spoke a line, it was hard to tell what his personality was. So because he actually has dialogue in the anime, they had to give him one.

Okay, real talk: the English dub absolutely saved this anime. Up until they announced it, I still hadn't made it past the first three episodes. It just felt like it was lacking something. Now I realize what it was; the absolute life the English VAs breathe into these characters is something I can't really compare to a whole lot of other anime/games. Of course, the JP VAs aren't bad either (I personally really like Futaba, Ryuji, Akechi, Yusuke, and Akira/Ren's JP voices), but my first experience with P5 was with the English cast, and the voices just really stuck with me. I don't prefer English dubs over original JP voices in many instances, but Persona 5's dub has an absolutely incredible cast and they all did a phenomenal job. I can say that, without a doubt, Persona 5 (and the Persona series in general) is one of the few series where I vastly prefer the dub to the original voices. Also: Max Mittelman, Erica Lindbeck, and Robbie Daymond supremacy. ✊
Both this and especially P4tA are pretty well known for having a dub that is generally considered better than the sub. The English cast just works so well with the characters. Atlus West really don't tend to miss with their casting and directing.
The problem with this anime is it only had like 2 or 3 great comedic moments like 1:41 and very minimal scenes that weren't taken straight from the game. It should've been like the Persona 4 anime which was very different from the game and had countless comedic moments.
I’ll never forget Yu looking straight-faced at Yosuke and saying “Are you the killer?” One of my favorite moments. They really outdid themselves with the P4 anime.
1:45 is just hilarious because I honestly think Joker just wanted to fuck with someone at a haunted house, and completely forgot that there were rumors going around about him adding to the terror factor that girl felt.

Both this and especially P4tA are pretty well known for having a dub that is generally considered better than the sub. The English cast just works so well with the characters.
Atlus West really don't tend to miss with their casting and directing.

The problem with this anime is it only had like 2 or 3 great comedic moments like 1:41 and very minimal scenes that weren't taken straight from the game. It should've been like the Persona 4 anime which was very different from the game and had countless comedic moments.
I’ll never forget Yu looking straight-faced at Yosuke and saying “Are you the killer?” One of my favorite moments. They really outdid themselves with the P4 anime.
