I’ll admit I like the persona designs more than the character designs, not that they’re bad but…there’s something about their designs that doesn’t click w me.
This is exactly how I'm feeling with these new characters. I would probably like them if they were their own in P6, but squeezing them further into the P5verse just makes them forgettable to me.
besides the gyaru and Riddle I didnt saw any original design, they all look similar (specially the male cast). I really wish they decide to add in the future the rest of the characters from P5 spinoffs and why not, maybe some members of the P1-P2-P3-P4 teams.
All the guys wear hats and have a vaguely coat-looking outfit, it really amkes them hard to distinguish and they should've gone further on the design concepts. The outfits don't communicate much.

Yeah, P4 and P5 allude to Personas being a very rare ability that the majority of people don't possess while P3 outright states that even fewer of the small minority that do have the potential are able to realize/manifest the power of a Persona. 16+ persona users is A LOT by lore standards and there's a reason the games usually cap it around 12. Having 16 new characters on top of old ones makes it feel a lot less rare and not as special as the previous games made it out to be.
Some of these designs look kinda unfinished, like they should be concept art, not the final 3D rendered models. I mean look at 2:46, 3:45 or 6:17, those look boring, something's just missing here. On the other hand, 0:57, 4:57 or 5:24 look really nice and creative. I wonder if there were different artists working on the character designs o.o Edit: The Persona designs look cool though

They've already shown riko in promotional art and such. Geez. And oh. Ok. I didn't know that her codename was going to be "wind". Or did you mean her attribute?
At least a few of them literally are, that's why. In lore, these are fake persona users, artificial cognitive versions of certain important NPCs in the world.

Best guess Sumi is a single target slash DPS with high crit stats, Sophia is bless healer, Zenkichi is slash DPS with self raising stat skills/passives, Toshiro (with Erina/Ernesto) as gun support.
i think is was great add some social links to become phantom thieves too, like: mishima, the doc, maruki, maybe sojiro in some way lol and iwa(? (like my dude shoot whit a rocket launcher haha)

If these translations i looked up are to be trusted, only 4 of these are real, the rest are some copied cogntions based off people the protagonist interacts with in the real world, with the exception of the OG Phantom Thieves, because you know, fan service.
it will be milking if they use the same game with same gameplay, and everything with no different at all in different platform or just some update, for example GTA who only release on every console, and only have update and update for online GTA, or The sims 4 after years only release a DLC and DLC, and other's that's called milking... this was different they make it online with different story, different MC, different gameplay they even make their own animation anime cutscene for it... BUT it's just trying to make persona like "honkai Starrail" while you can play solo but the chara was using your luck on gacha and event every update, why they not making the new persona and make it like this? while this way is more efficient and more easier rather than make it from zero again, while other's atlus team focusing on P3 remake and also from leaker new P6.
