Trying to locate part 2 that you mentioned towards the end of the video??? Also? If I were doing this on top of current working plumbing in basement basically for relocating drains in remodel, I can assume I wouldn't need the pooppump (lol) but since I'm using the existing drains could I get by using 2x4 rather than 2x6 or 2x8? The new drains wouldn't be far from originals, it's mainly for a little reconfiguration, likely only a couple feet or so from the original, the raised floor would then be even with the rest of the raised floor in the basement yet still allow access to the plumbing should it ever be necessary?
Thank You Mr. (I love your) Beard.

Love your channel! I am a Ace of all trades myself and a GC working mostly by myself or with a couple helpers. I could definitely see you are a problem solver. I would bet your local building codes would still have you use pressure-treated lumber. I would assume those would count as base plates on slab. Just because your floor is covered with tile would not change that in my municipality. I would always overbuild if in doubt. That being said I'm sure it will be fine.

I can tell you from personal experience that as a plumber, those toilets can be nuisance problems. Be sure to keep the inside of those tanks very well maintained is my small piece of advise to the people watching this video thinking about purchasing one. These are not a fire and forget installation...they require maintenance! The more common type (gravity drain) toilets don't normally need a lot of work done to them in their lifetime. Just be mindful that you need to check to see if the floatswitch is operating correctly, pump isn't over working itself, the razors on the shredder impellers. Noting wrong with relying on a mechanical means to convey sanitary wastes, but they are NOT a low maintenance system. They cost quite a bit of money to replace when they go bad, too.

This is the main reason i jackhammered out a 30" sewage basin and installed a sewage pump. $250-300 for a new pump vs $1k+ for these things. Plus from everything I've read the sewage pumps seem to last longer and have less problems over time. Sure you can have problems, just in general when you take the average over all the devices. Way more complaints about these things than sewage pumps. More work to jackhammer out the hole and the lines, but IMO worth it. Other reason, low ceilings in basement cause of year built, so I to put in shower you need 6' 8", so yeah. Can't use this if only 7' ceiling in basement to start.

Great job! how high is your ceiling? Im working on a similar project. The issue I'm having is that I have 85 inches from the concrete floor to top of joist. My question is do i have enough room for a shower.
